Lead survivors to safety and rebuild their homes in HavenCraft, an indie simulation where you manage the creation of a new community. Step into the role of a leader in this third-person town builder, guiding your players through challenges as they establish a thriving haven.
About this game
Build a Safe Haven
An industrial alchemy accident has devastated the mainland, and the survivors have fled in all directions.
The people are looking for a new home in the Outer Islands. Take the lead and rebuild society, house by house.
A Living Settlement
HavenCraft is a third-person town builder with a functional economy. Your townspeople are not just standing in place; they work and consume and make the town feel alive.
The carpenter needs the wood deliveries from the forester, but if all trees have been cut, the forester needs to grow new ones first.
Man and Machine
Some tasks are better left to the machines.
HavenCraft is set in a mechanical fantasy world that is going through its own kind of industrialization. Build machines and little automatons that take over tasks and help out the village people.
Townfolk Happiness
You are building a Safe Haven, so make it a worthwhile place to live. Build lively taverns and cozy houses. Supply a variety of food, tools, and items for daily life.
Make sure your townspeople are taken care of, or they might leave the new settlement before it has a chance to grow in the first place.
Sandbox Town Building
The goal of HavenCraft is to let you build your own sandbox towns that feel active and lived-in. That's why you don't place pre-made houses, but rather design the buildings yourself!
Since you are building an entire town, there are plenty of tools to make the process easier, like being able to drag-build anything.
Bring Your Friends
HavenCraft can be played 100% in singleplayer, but you can also open your world to multiplayer anytime and invite your friends. The game is designed for everyone to work on the same town together. It is made for fun with friends, not public servers.

Devlog #18 - HavenCraft Steam Demo in 2 weeks, Sept 22nd!
Hello everyone! It's finally time for some news! We're going to release Alpha 6 in 2 weeks, on Tuesday, September 22nd. This one will also land on Steam as a free Demo. We want to prepare for a good launch into Early Access later this year, so Alpha 6 contains A LOT of small changes that make the experience overall smoother, clearer, and just straight up better. Roof Building Upgrade In HavenCraft, you're supposed to build a whole town, so building needs to work really well. That's why we worked on some roof upgrades: For example, when you drag two roofs onto each other, they merge automatically, closing the top nicely. But! That's not the big news. One of the coolest HavenCraft features that pretty much anyone enjoys is the auto-triangles for walls under the roofs. So the big news is that roof building does the same thing now, auto-corners: This way, you can now build all kinds of roofs: By the way, thanks to the content creators who already played Alpha 5 and requested this feature, for example Hirnsturz and GigaDon. This feature is a bit experimental; for now it's only on the 45° roof pieces. We wanted to first see some player reactions and make sure this works well, before doing all the math for the other angles' algorithms. Gameplay Changes Work Orders Belong to the Plot Now It used to be that each villager had their own work orders. That meant that whenever you hired a new person, or assigned/unassigned jobs, you had to reconfigure all work orders. That's no longer the case: work orders are now per-plot. This means that, for example, the carpenter plot has orders to make 800 wood joints, and you can freely assign 4 more carpenters who will all get to work immediately. Work orders are now also active by default. That should help newer players get started, hopefully. Roads Actually Make You Faster Walking on a road now makes you 40% faster. This goes for everyone: you, your villagers, and even your packlings. Now roads are not just decoration anymore; they actua...Read full article on Community Announcements (Dionic Software)Patch NotesOfficial

Devlog #16 - Villager Behaviour Update
Hello everyone!First off, if you’re short on time: Check out our new Soundtrack Video on Youtube! We're doing some pre-Early Access playtests on our website. HavenCraft Alpha 5 will release next Tuesday. With that said, it’s time for the last news post before the new playtesting update.Last week we covered seasons and the trailer. Today we’re talking about everything to do with the villagers in your town. What Are Your Villagers Up To?One of the things that makes a town feel like an actual place is seeing the people in it just live their lives. Doing ordinary things when they have a moment. In Alpha 5, villagers and travelers have a bunch of new idle behaviours:Sitting down to play cards at a table togetherWarming up around a fireReading a bookEating soup out of a bowlChatting with each otherRelaxing in public buildings like the tavern in the eveningGoing home and heading to bed at night (with a little “zzz” effect)Hanging around their assigned area during the day Villagers gathering outside and relaxing in the tavern after work.“Feierabend!”A small but nice addition: there is now an end-of-workday notification that lets you know when your villagers are wrapping up for the day. We called it “Feierabend” - a German word that means the moment you’re done with work for the day and can finally relax. We thought it fits.Falling Asleep Is No Longer PunishingThis one came directly from a lot of your feedback. With the old mechanic you’d lose items and wake up somewhere random if you didn’t make it to bed. The community didn’t like it so much, so we removed it.From Alpha 5 on, you still fall asleep if you stay up too late, and you still get the end-of-day overview. But no more item loss, and no more waking up somewhere unexpected. The end-of-day overview is a good opportunity to show some city stats and do some technical work behind the scenes, like season changes, but if you want to, you can hit enter and skip it quickly.New Character Models & AnimationsWe also took this relea...Read full article on Community Announcements (Dionic Software)AnnouncementsOfficial
Devlog #15 - Seasons & Trailer
Hello everyone and welcome to HavenCraft! We've been releasing Alpha builds for playtesting before Early Access on our website.Join the playtests and see additional info about HavenCraft here. Now, we're getting close to the pre-Early Access Alpha 5 release! Our target date is in 2 weeks, on Wednesday, May 27th. We're going to do a small weekly series of posts leading up to the release so you know what's new. There is a lot to cover!Alpha 5 Trailer Released! We finally have a Trailer. Check it out!We hope you like it, but feel free to give us your feedback! It's important that we get the trailer to be as good as possible before the Early Access release. SeasonsFor Alpha 5, we spent a lot of time improving HavenCraft under the hood, but as you've seen in the trailer, the big visual change is the new seasons! Each season changes the entire atmosphere of your town: the terrain, the foliage, the vegetation, the decorations, the fog, the lighting, and even the music all change. There are also some smaller details, like butterflies in some seasons or leaves falling from the trees when you hit them in the fall.In spring, you’ll find flowers and butterflies, while on summer nights, the fireflies come out. In fall, the leaves turn red and yellow in fall. Winter is my personal favorite season.Having seasons means that you have to be prepared. Farm plants don’t grow in winter, so be sure to stock up on food. The Big IncineratorWe added a new type of furnace, the “incinerator”. Instead of smelting ores into ingots, it can burn anything into ash. That’s useful for 2 purposes.Getting rid of unwanted items or overproduction in an automatable way (you can fill it via hoppers). You can use the ash to make soap for the villagers and achieve a little bit of extra town happiness. If you try to burn the ash itself again, it’ll burn into nothing, so you can truly get rid of items if you want.Don’t put your valuables inside.Performance ImprovementsSome of our playtesters have pushed quite far in ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Dionic Software)
