About this game
But your people have grown lazy and complacent, and a threat has appeared. Your creations are no longer content to serve you. You are lost in a wild, savage mountain range. A rebellion is growing there, and it offers you awesome power if you join. Will you use your powers to destroy the rebels or aid them? Bring peace or lead them to war? The choices are all yours!
Geneforge 2 – Infestation offers unmatched freedom in how you play. Fight alone with blades, missiles, or magic, or create your own army of custom-made mutant monsters. Alternately, use trickery, diplomacy, and stealth to win the game without ever attacking a foe. There's no 'bad guy'. Choose between a host of rival factions or just destroy everything.
Geneforge 2 is an epic fantasy adventure with almost ninety zones to explore, 50+ hours of gameplay, and huge replayability. Choose from dozens of spells, weapon skills, abilities, and creations to make to reach a vast array of different endings. The rebellion has begun. Awesome wealth and power is yours for the taking. What will you do?
Geneforge 2 – Infestation is a total remaster of our 2003 cult-classic Geneforge 2. It contains new areas, quests, characters, and dialogue, a redone interface and systems, and a complete reworking of every single thing to bring it into the modern era of gaming.

Avernum 4: Greed and Glory Out For Windows/Mac on October 22nd!
Started in 1994, the cult classic Avernum series is one of the great video game sagas. On October 22, Spiderweb Software returns to this unique underworld nation with Avernum 4: Greed and Glory! Coming for Windows and Mac. Take a look here!In this new, epic fantasy role-playing adventure, you explore and save (or betray?) an enormous underworld nation. Battle through huge dungeons, fight unique and cunning foes, collect, create, and bless hundreds of different artifacts, and enjoy a really cool story. Avernum is a nation deep underground, full of huge caves, treacherous labyrinths, and fairylands of alien fungi. Once a prison, it has won its freedom and is now reaching for wealth and glory. However, old enemies from the deepest caves envy Avernum's growing power. You will have to fight to save this new, fragile land (or be well paid to betray it).You can see an Avernum 4 trailer, screenshots, and plenty of information on our web site or on our Steam page. If you are interested, please wishlist the game on Steam. It helps a lot!Read full article on Community Announcements (Spiderweb)AnnouncementsOfficial
Avernum 4: Greed and Glory Kickstarter. Help make Spiderweb's next new RPG!
We have launched the Kickstarter for our next game, and we're thrilled to finally return to the world of Avernum! Avernum 4: Greed and Glory will be an epic, indie, turn-based fantasy role-playing adventure for Windows, Mac, and iPad. It continues the saga of Avernum, a nation in caverns far under the world, full of misfits, adventures, treasures to be found, and monsters to hunt (and that hunt you). It will be a remaster of the indie RPG cult-classic Avernum 4, which came out way back in 2005. The original is a massive RPG, full of skilled warriors and wizards using a multitude of weapons, spells, and artifacts to conquer an enormous world. It is old and doesn't run well anymore. We will completely rework everything to make a great, modern game. The Kickstarter will run until October 16th and comes with a huge variety of stretch goals and backer rewards. You can get all sort of merch, including stickers, hand-drawn original art, and the original, signed, annotated designs from our first game (back in 1994). We humbly ask for your support as we take this mostly-forgotten game from our past and rebuild it as something really cool.Read full article on Community Announcements (Spiderweb)AnnouncementsOfficial

Geneforge 2 - Infestation review: bold and great like Baldur's Gate
Like the good works of Calvin Klein, these genes come pre-distressed. Geneforge 2 - Infestation is fresh from the rack, yet looks and functions like the CRPGs of the late 1990s. Where most isometric throwbacks these days offer a forced perspective over 3D scenes, Geneforge 2 is the real deal - its flat character sprites gliding across tiled backgrounds, with the elegant shuffle of Shōgun-era ladies-in-waiting. This look is less a nostalgic affectation than it is simply practical. Geneforge 2, like all of Jeff Vogel’s games, was made in the spare bedroom of his Seattle home with the help of his wife, Mariann Krizsan - plus a handful of artists spread more broadly. It’s the latest in a long line of low-budget Spiderweb Software RPGs to achieve sprawling scale and reactivity by leaning on cost-effective and old-fashioned production values. Here there is no voice acting, nor any ambient noise that cannot be sourced from royalty-free soundbanks. In pastoral areas of the map, the impression of grazing livestock is conveyed entirely through a free sound effect called ‘Eating a rusk.wav’.
