Embark on a journey of strategy and survival as you guide your forces through war-torn conflicts. In this 2027 indie RPG, every decision you make will influence the outcome of battles and your path to becoming a legendary General.

About this game

Rise from a nameless soldier to a legendary General in a living world of war where battles unfold with or without you. Fight to survive, earn your place through action, and shape the outcome of massive conflicts through the choices you make on and off the battlefield.

A Living War That Moves Without You

War does not wait.

The world progresses through a dynamic, calendar-driven system where armies march, battles are fought, and outcomes are decided—even when you are not present. Generals clash, strategies unfold, and entire fronts rise or fall through a simulation driven by leadership, strength, and calculated decisions.

When you enter the battlefield, everything changes.

Your actions can disrupt the flow of war, turning losses into victories—or victories into disaster. One soldier can shift the course of an entire battle.

Start as a Soldier. Earn Everything.

You begin with nothing.

Fight as a low-ranking soldier, follow orders, and prove your worth through survival and performance. Gain recognition, build your reputation, and attract the attention of powerful generals who may take you under their command—or leave you behind.

There are no guarantees. No safety.

Only those who survive rise.

Tactical Combat That Evolves With You

Engage in squad-based combat where battles range from intense duels to chaotic multi-unit encounters. Every fight is driven by timing, positioning, and decision-making under pressure.

Early on, you fight to survive.
Later, you fight to command.

As you rise in rank, you gain the ability to:

  • Issue orders to allied units

  • Execute battlefield formations

  • Attempt tactics to outmaneuver the enemy

  • Influence morale and momentum

Victory is not just about strength—it is about control.

Lead with Might

Dominate the battlefield through raw martial power. Cut through enemy lines, engage in brutal close-quarters combat, and survive encounters where every strike matters. Strength earns respect—and fear.

Command with Strategy

Outthink your enemies and control the battlefield. Position units, anticipate enemy movements, and execute formations that turn chaos into victory. Strategy is what separates soldiers from leaders.

Your Actions Shape the Battlefield

Every action you take has weight.

A single victory can trigger a chain reaction across the battlefield.
A single failure can collapse an entire front line.

Save allies or sacrifice them for the greater outcome.
Take risks for greater rewards—or play it safe and survive.

Chance encounters with powerful figures can alter your path.
Earn the trust of a legendary General—or be forgotten in the chaos of war.

From Chaos to Command

Massive wars unfold across the land, with armies clashing in conflicts numbering in the hundreds of thousands.

You are not controlling the war from above.

You are inside it.

Fight on the front lines, rise through the ranks, and eventually influence the decisions that shape entire campaigns of conquest.

Forge Your General

Develop your character through a deep progression system shaped by your actions. Improve combat ability, leadership, and strategic thinking while defining the kind of General you become.

As your army survives battle after battle, your soldiers evolve into hardened veterans—stronger, more reliable, and shaped by the war they endure.

Cinematic Storytelling

Experience pivotal moments through illustrated, cinematic story sequences brought to life with narration and player-driven choices.

These stylized story events capture the scale of war, the intensity of battle, and the weight of your decisions as your journey unfolds.

Conquer the Warring States

Your rise is not limited to a single battlefield.

As the war expands, your actions can shape campaigns across China's fractured lands. Fight for your state, help break enemy armies, capture key regions, and take part in the long road toward conquest.

Every victory brings your side closer to domination.
Every defeat gives rival states room to grow.

Rise high enough, and you will no longer be fighting only to survive.

You will be fighting to decide who rules all under Heaven.

Inspired by Epic War Sagas

Step into a world inspired by legendary tales of warfare, ambition, and the relentless rise to power.

Witness the brutality of war, the bonds forged in battle, and the climb from obscurity to greatness in a story shaped by conflict, survival, and legacy.

Dev Update — Building the Soldiers Who Rise With You

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I wanted to share a new development update for Rise of the General. This update is about one of the systems I care about most:RecruitmentIn many games, recruitment feels like buying stronger units from a list. That is not what I want for Rise of the General. In this game, you do not simply collect soldiers. You discover people through war. Some are ordinary. Some are reliable. Some are dangerous. Some may become the kind of person your army is built around. The main ideaYou command many soldiers, but only a few become trusted.Every recruit can be shaped by several things:Class — what they are naturally good atRepute — their potentialStats — their raw abilityTraits — what makes them memorablePersonality — how they behaveLoyalty — whether they truly follow youCondition — whether they are healthy, wounded, exhausted, or shakenA recruit should not matter only because their numbers are high. They should matter because of what they survive, how they perform, and whether the player chooses to trust them with responsibility. How recruits are discoveredI do not want recruitment to feel disconnected from the war.A recruit might be noticed because:they held the line longer than expectedthey survived a hard battlea scout reports something unusual about themthey perform well during trainingan officer recommends themthey show potential during a battlefield eventYou might notice a quiet recruit watching the officers, the wounded, the exits, and the supply carts. You might assign someone to lead during training and discover they are not loud, but the men still follow their hand signals. That is the kind of recruitment I want. Not just:“This unit has better stats.”More like:“Who is this person?”“Where do they belong?”“Can I trust them?”“And what could they become if they survive long enough?”Trusted unitsAs the player rises, some soldiers can become more than basic recruits. They can ...
