Playtest Patch - first fixes incoming

After the first feedback we received we managed to roll out a couple of updates and fixes. Most are adressing issues in the tutorial, where some people had problems with input and also there where some situations that made it hard for the players to finish after resets. In detail: Racer in Tutorial is slightly slower - was too fast for some Shop shows amount of entry money needed fixed issue where resetting the Bouncing tutorial step made it impossible to finish Added reminding voicelines when failing too often Added images for illustration purposes and to introduce elements more clearly Bug with LeftStick scheme for gamepad resetting to other layout fixed Bug with LeftStick inverting Y-Axis fixed Strafing also possible with D-Pad now With that we hope it's much more comfortable for new users and especially gamepad users from now on. Please let us know when you encounter anything by using the feedback option ingame or here directly. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44622053/81e39d582423d633900be662815e92a35ba02725.png Thanks for your support! the StarBoost PLAYTEST is open now: We need your feedback!

Playtest is LIVE After a long period of preparing we hit a mark where we are now ready to go into playtesting. The build is prepared with a small selection of races from the tracks of the first Tournament planet. This will give you a nice variety and time to parcour and explore. The progression abilities & events are capped to a certain level so not too much of the game's story and faction opportunities are spoiled ;) Join directly on the StarBoost Steampage here {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44622053/5a28bbae7be8776c86fb71f3c1b671d46534727f.png Otherwise, the game is fully playable, giving you a solid impression of where we're headed. Our goal is to gather as much feedback as possible—there are always things we might overlook as developers. Fresh eyes are invaluable, so the more testers, the better! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44622053/81e39d582423d633900be662815e92a35ba02725.png Jump in and experience the intergalactic Tournament firsthand. Compete, become the Champion, and leave your mark on history! Enjoy action-packed 360° parcour racing in a unique, handcrafted sci-fi world. [DEV NEWS] Hitting a new milestone & playtesting

It’s update time! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44622053/62428fa1459c3c331d50da837109aac91998e188.png The last months were super productive in many ways – StarBoost is way more in shape than it has ever been. And that is not a result of just “putting in the hours” but refinining the concept and game mechanics over and over again. We are now really at the point, where we can confidently say: StarBoost is a 360° action parcour racer. And then feel that ring true when you are on the the race track and playing. Playtesting {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44622053/ed9d9f21811ba8da5720955da5c988a20863997e.png We refined a vertical slice with a selection of maps from the first planet ready to be playtested very soon. We have a couple loyal playtesters who go in and test again and again, and we ourselves are testing a ton. BUT. There might be some issues we overlook out of familiarity with the game. This is a very dangerous zone to be in: you can make the game look good and how it actually should be working once you know it well playing yourself – but you as the developer just might not anticipate in how many funny ways players will break that. Knowingly or unknowingly 😉 This is our biggest focus right now: making it as approachable for new players as possible! We are preparing the last steps as I write this and will go into a STEAM PLAYTEST soon. see the detailed version on our site: StarBoost website - devlog Back very, very soon! ːsteamthumbsupː Cheers, your StarBoost Team!

    Demo Build Update 0.8.24

We have just published a new build for the demo. In that update a couple of bugs we noticed and feedback points from users are adressed. The main update announced a week ago was the input possibility added for keyboard/mouse and there were still some graphical feedback and sound updates needed to complete that feature. Additionally we noticed there were some rough spots in the first tutorial where in case you died or missed the tutorial action to do during the weapon system test there was a bug that led to the ship being pulled away and flying no longer was doable. In detail: Buildlog 0.8.24 FIXES Gamepad pulling down the racing ship or in general dragging in a direction when no input is made - fixed Tut Basics map: endless pitch and tutorial not triggering - fixed Switching to alternative gamepad input scheme not triggering - fixed Respawning in Tut Basics map not forcing racer to wrong direction IMPROVEMENS: Fluid switch between gamepad and kbm at any point has more UI feedback and also shows an icon for which one is registered in the GUI Editing profiles now has either Keyboard input or spawns a virtual keyboard when gamepad is active Voice feedback or board computer now responding to correct input active Respawning in general more lenient and giving player more chance to re-orient ADDITIONS: Powerups now have a visualiziation added on the racer with various 3d elements on equipping.
