Over the past 5 years, the studio has worked closely with academics, researchers and sensitivity checkers to create historically accurate environments and a narrative inspired by real events.

Driven to authentically portray 19th-century China, this research with academic experts included a detailed study into the British-China relations of the era.

  Hey Pirates! We wanted to start off by saying thank you so much to everyone who has played our game The Pirate Queen: A Forgotten Legend. We’re so happy that people are enjoying the experience and stepping into the shoes of the legendary Cheng Shih. We’d like to let you know that we’ve taken in all of the feedback we’ve received and are incredibly grateful for you taking the time to share your thoughts! Based on your feedback, we have updated The Pirate Queen: A Forgotten Legend. **Spoilers Below** Known Issues Some players may wish to reach down for items lower down. We’re working on Distance Grab to ensure players have more flexibility with objects at different heights. Bug Fixes Locomotion sensitivity on specific controllers Cog puzzle interaction in the Sampan Maze Fishing bait interaction on the Balcony Chopping board interaction in the kitchen Objects disappearing in inventory Korean & Japanese subtitles fixed Respawned item behaviour Traversing water on foot Polish Visual prompts for when player's head is out-of-bounds Smooth movement that allows faster turns and better movement Increased texture resolution on many assets across the game. Improved water materials to have higher resolution and more realistic shading. Reduced distance culling across all levels and increased LoD transition distances on many assets. (These changes should greatly reduce objects "popping" in or out during gameplay.) Improved lighting in many levels - adjusted brightness for visibility in some gameplay areas and fixed some shading errors. Fixed material shading errors on some two sided materials.
