About the Game
Follow this step-by-step guide to craft a 5-star inn, the epitome of fantasy and magic.
5-star Service
Recruit top chefs, or hone your own skills and become one yourself! Forge ties with local farmers for quality ingredients and offer a delectable menu for your guests. A 5-star inn draws royalty and fame, so you must prepare the rarest of items. Build relationships with winemakers, trade with merchants, or search the corners of the world for rare gems. Impress even the King upon his arrival!
Pals with Ghosts?
Under the moonlight, the sight of pale ghosts may send most people running, but not you. Discover the secrets, master the spell to unlock a world of friendly ghosts. Serve and befriend these charming spirits, and in return, you’ll receive whimsical rewards beyond your imagination.
Cheat a little!
Friends are an innkeeper’s greatest asset! Making friends is simple: talk to guests, help them, serve well, or even give gifts. Each guest matters. Interact, learn, aim for personalized service, and build lasting relationships. Strong friendships help innkeepers gain resources and referrals from powerful contacts. Easy, right?
When the power of friendship may not be enough, there’s nothing wrong with taking a few shortcuts. A 5-star rating is determined by judges disguised as guests. Pay the local detective to reveal the judge's identity, or use money and favors to sway the judge. Keep it discreet: nobody needs to know!
Success!
Congratulations on achieving the 5-star rating! Success, wealth, friends in high places: you’ve done it all! But now, it’s time to uncover a tale of tragedy, redemption, and of course, magic. With abundant resources in hand and wand, you can shape this magical world. Enjoy the journey!

Magic Inn 0.819: QOL Improvements and Bug Fixes
Hi everyone!Sorry it’s been a little while since the last update. I’m currently working on a larger content update for Magic Inn, but it’s going to need a bit more time in the oven.In the meantime, I’ve received quite a few bug reports and helpful suggestions from players. Thank you so much for sending them in! Rather than making everyone wait for the bigger update, I decided to put together a smaller patch first to fix some of the more immediate issues.UI ImprovementsAfter using Inquiry on an adventurer, the UI now shows their Expedition Abilities instead of their resources.Weapons now include descriptions explaining what they do.Weapon crafting recipes are now displayed in the UI.Quality-of-Life ImprovementsIf an NPC’s resource is already included in your contract, the game will now tell you instead of letting you wonder whether you forgot something. The game now indicates when the current customer is a regular customer.Reduced the crafting time of many recipes, so hopefully there’ll be a little less staring at the furnace.Bug FixesFixed an issue preventing players from establishing a Supply Contract with merchants.Fixed an issue where the Confidence bonus from the protagonist’s bedroom would sometimes not be applied.Housekeepers can now correctly help with crafting at the furnace.Fixed an issue where some floor decorations couldn’t be placed even though their build zone appeared available.Fixed an issue where the first Expedition task could become impossible to complete after hiring an adventurer.Fixed Magical Vines growing into the wall instead of away from it. The vines have been reminded how walls work. There are still a few stubborn bugs I haven’t managed to squash yet, along with some really good suggestions that need more time to implement. I’m planning another smaller update to address more of these while I continue working on the larger content update. As always, thank you so much for playing Magic Inn, reporting issues, and being patient with our tiny team....Read full article on Community Announcements (magicinn.dev)AnnouncementsOfficial
A Message to Our Magic Inn Players
Hi everyone,It’s been about a month since our last update, and we wanted to share what we’ve been working on, as well as what’s next for Magic Inn.First of all, thank you to every player who took a leap of faith and supported Magic Inn during Early Access. It truly means a lot to us.So far, we have completed roughly two-thirds of the overall content planned for Magic Inn. Looking back on nearly five years of development, we’ve realized that, as our first indie game, Magic Inn was a very ambitious project for a small team of four people. There are still many skills we need to improve in order to make Magic Inn into the game we originally envisioned. After delivering Act 2, we decided to take a short step back to reassess the project, reflect on what we’ve learned, and think carefully about how we can improve and complete the remaining content. We are not giving up on Magic Inn. We will continue working on the project until the 1.0 release.During this break, some new game ideas began to take shape. I couldn’t resist prototyping them, and that eventually became a new project: Idle Bookstore.Compared to Magic Inn, Idle Bookstore is a much smaller and simpler game. It is a cozy desktop idle game where you run a small bookstore on the side of your screen. You can play it while doing other things, and your friends can even join you to write books together or sell each other’s books.Today, we released the demo for Idle Bookstore, and we would love to hear your feedback if it sounds like something you might be interested in. We have also prepared some special skins for our Magic Inn players. You can claim them in the demo using the code: magicinnAfter we release Idle Bookstore, I will shift my focus back to Magic Inn and use what I’ve learned from developing this smaller project to improve it. We are still receiving a lot of valuable player feedback, and some of your suggestions are being added to our roadmap.Thank you so much for your support, patience, and encouragement. Magic Inn 0.816: Quality of Life Feature and Bug Fixes
Hi everyone,This patch introduces a new quality-of-life feature: you can now filter and sort your Regulars list, Contracts, and the Adventurer list when preparing for expeditions.I also noticed that once the Regulars list became large, opening it could feel slow and cumbersome. To improve this experience, the list has now been separated into pages, making it much smoother and easier to navigate. This patch also includes several bug fixes:Bug Fix: In one specific story branch, choosing a certain path could break Ed’s supply task, causing the target quantity to become negative.Bug Fix: Early in the game, when Ed visits to give the player a task, he could sometimes freeze in place, preventing the player from closing the inn. This issue was introduced by a previous patch and has now been fixed.Controller Fix: Fixed various controller-related issues.Thank you again for all of your feedback and support! ❤️Read full article on Community Announcements (magicinn.dev)Patch NotesOfficial
Magic Inn 0.815: Bug Fixes
Hi everyone,Sorry it’s been a little quiet lately. I had to take a short break, but now I’m back to work. This patch fixes several critical bugs reported by players, especially issues that could block story progression. Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to report them.I’m already working on the next patch, which will introduce more quality-of-life features suggested by all of you. After that, I’ll be working on a new feature for Magic Inn that will let you invest in other people’s businesses, helping them improve their farms and unlock higher-level ingredients, such as Grade B Pork.Thank you again for supporting our Early Access journey, and I’m truly sorry for the bugs along the way.Bug Fix: During the conversation card game, players could get stuck and crash the game when using the Silence Card.Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where players could open the inn but no customers would show up, caused by an unexpected in-game event.Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where loading from a manual save could cause an event that had already happened to trigger again, resulting in duplicate tasks.UI Fix: When there were more than 3 dialogue choices, some options could appear off-screen and become invisible.Controller Fix: Fixed an issue where controller glyphs would sometimes not display correctly in menus.Read full article on Community Announcements (magicinn.dev)
