About this game
FEATURES
- Explore a dark wooded region at night with a crank flashlight to see your surroundings.
- Use your radio to pick up strange signals that become louder the closer you get.
- Carefully avoid danger that is for the most part unscripted and autonomous, with no teleporty jumpscare sequences.
- Almost every sound you make in-game can be heard.
- Look to your journal to recall important information you have previously discovered. Learning key information from one location may prove essential for solving a difficult puzzle in another.
Head to Tamarack National Park with your trusty crank flashlight and radio, uncover secrets past and present, and complete your task. Try not to be found by the creature that could cross paths with you at any given moment.
The game takes about 2 hours to complete, but if you are stumped easily it may take a few more. This is my first real attempt at making a game and I hope those who choose to play enjoy it!

Achievements
Since this was my first game and it's pretty simple, I didn't expect anybody to be interested enough to want achievements, color me surprised! Hopefully nothing gets messed up, I had to import Steamworks.NET to put achievements in, and it seems to have a check for the game being a valid steam copy or something, so hopefully it doesn't give you any false-negatives and make your game close. But yeah, there's achievements now!Read full article on Community Announcements (CodeRed)Patch NotesOfficial
More Endgame Hints
- Added a new note to help steer the player away from going in an endgame location early - Added an entire new section into the journal to reduce confusion about the deep wooded area - Added a new drawing into an existing journal entry that helps visualize a puzzle solution - Various changes to things that indirectly impacted players when trying to figure out a puzzle solution, hopefully this part of the game goes more smoothly now - Fixed a bug that created a new instance of the journal UI every time it was opened I want my players to be able to beat the game too! This is the second or third update made for the sake of reducing confusion around the endgame area. I haven't just been 'fixing a bug once a month.' That being said, I can only add hints so much before it reaches the point of spoiling the entire solution for the players. At the end of the day, the player is intended to use their noggin' as well as trial and error to figure out the puzzles. If you're stuck somewhere, venture somewhere else. The journal is your friend, even more so after these updates.Read full article on Community Announcements (CodeRed)Patch NotesOfficial
Some Bug Fixes (Patch Notes)
- Fixed pulling out items while hiding if you used the hotkeys - Added a time limit to the AI walking cycle so if they somehow get stuck on nothing they will only hit a fat moonwalk for a little while(I hope)Read full article on Community Announcements (CodeRed)Patch NotesOfficial
Bug Fix (Patch Notes)
- Fixed a bug where activating a scene change multiple times in rapid succession would cause multiple routines of a scene change to conflict and result in the player spawning in the wrong location. This had softlock potential related to shortcuts so I'm glad it's been caught and fixed. Congrats to everyone who's beaten the game so far!Read full article on Community Announcements (CodeRed)Patch NotesOfficial
Small Journal Addition
Hello, I've released a very small patch that adds an indicator(red exclamation points) to the most important entry in the journal. I've noticed most people run into trouble at a certain part of the game. My current goal is to bring it to a point that it can be figured out easily enough. My best advice is to make sure there's not any important information left to find in another area, and if you are absolutely sure you have all the information you need, check the journal. The new indicator expedites the process of finding the important info. If you don't have this indicator anywhere in your journal, you have more investigating to do! If anybody has beaten the game, let me know. (Or let me know when you do) I'll be relieved to know that the clues are good enough for it to be figured out. Also, if you win, please leave a comment here to discuss the difficulty of figuring it out, and any suggestions you have! Thanks!Read full article on Community Announcements (CodeRed)
