About this game
Sengoku Voxel Castle is an adorably cute city-building tower defense game set in Japan’s Sengoku period.
The game is inspired by Minecraft, Farthest Frontier, and Bonsai Castles.
・Defeat over 3000 enemies at once in exhilarating large-scale battles.
・Build and manage over 60 types of production facilities inspired by Sengoku-era culture and technology.
・Create a castle together with cute characters like Tohoku Kiritan and Zundamon, and survive the chaos of the Sengoku period!
・The ground is made of blocks (voxels) whose height can be freely adjusted. Create the strongest terrain and counter your enemies!
・Use MODs to freely customize the appearance of your town!
・Uses data from Japan’s Geospatial Information Authority. Build castles on realistic Japanese terrain!
(Repel massive enemy waves using height differences and crossfire!)
(Protect your town with many Zundamon!)

(Unlock technologies to build many different types of buildings—all fully voxel-based and cute!)
Who are Tohoku Kiritan and Zundamon?
Tohoku Kiritan and Zundamon are characters created by a Japanese company, SSS LLC, in 2011—the year of the Great East Japan Earthquake—to support the recovery and revitalization of the Tohoku region.
Zundamon, in particular, gained explosive popularity in Japan after a free-to-use synthetic voice was released in 2021, becoming widely known through YouTube voice commentary.
Sengoku Voxel Castle is a fan game featuring these characters, but it is designed so that you can fully enjoy it even without prior knowledge of them.
If you’re interested in Sengoku-era city-building games, or Japanese-style RTS, we highly recommend giving it a try!

Tohoku Kiritan (Age 11)
The youngest of the three Tohoku sisters.
Her older sisters are Tohoku Zunko (17) and Tohoku Itako (19).
She carries the “Kiritan Cannon” on her back, inspired by kiritanpo, long style rice cake.
Her birthday is February 13.
In this game, she is caught up in Sengoku-era warfare and becomes separated from her sisters.
Together with Zundamon, she escapes to an uninhabited land, builds a new village, and fights to survive while hoping to reunite with her family.

Zundamon (Human Form)
A humanized form of an edamame fairy.
Age unknown. Birthday: December 5.
She loves zunda mochi and can transform into a Zunda Arrow.
In official novels and comics, she often splits into multiple copies—and many Zundamon appear in this game as well.
In-game, Zundamon supports logistics in your town and fights alongside Kiritan as a reliable ally.

ver. 0.925 – Quest System and Mansion Relocation Officially Released
Zundamon Castle receives another major update! The Quest System, previously available only in ver. 0.9 Beta, has now been officially released. This update also includes major changes to Barracks, Mansions, Soil Collection Sites, and Quarries. In addition, new achievements have been added for clearing each difficulty level and Trial. (If you have already cleared them, the achievements will be unlocked automatically when you load your save.) ※ In this version, Barracks can no longer be designated as your Headquarters. If your Headquarters is currently set to a Barracks from an older version, it will remain there after updating, but please relocate your Headquarters afterward. The Quest System has been officially implemented. Added achievements for clearing each difficulty level. Soldiers spawned from a Barracks are now removed if that Barracks is demolished. Elite Soldiers have been removed. Instead, a new Relocation system has been added. Soldiers who move from a Barracks into a Mansion receive significant stat bonuses. Every morning, they automatically return to their assigned Mansion before beginning their daily activities. Added the ability to name buildings. Named buildings will trigger dialogue when their HP becomes low. Soil Collection Sites now gather the soil block beneath them, while Quarries mine the rock block directly in front of them, allowing gameplay to better reflect local terrain. Added stone pavements and foundation stones for each stone type. Buildings no longer require soil blocks for construction and now use clay instead. Greatly increased wall HP. Increased friendly unit HP to compensate for the new Barracks unit capacity limit. Greatly reduced enemy cannon units' HP, and lowered the anti-unit damage of cannon units for both sides. Increased Watchtower HP. Watchtowers now take at most 1/200 of their maximum HP in damage from bows and arquebuses. Ranged units now spend a short time aiming before firing instead of attacking immediately when a targ...Read full article on Community Announcements (KC Project)AnnouncementsOfficial
ver. 0.9 Beta – Added Quest System & External Factions
ver. 0.8 added the ocean system, and ver. 0.9 added quests and external factions. Below are the updates made during that period. The quest system in ver. 0.9 is currently available only in the beta version. For Zundamon Castle, the remaining plans are to make some adjustments to diplomacy features and implement mining-related systems before releasing the full version of the game. 【Major Additions】 Implemented seawater (when starting a new game on the Japan terrain map, seawater and freshwater are now distinguished). Unlike freshwater, seawater cannot be used for rice paddies or water collection. Fishing huts and ports built on seawater receive ocean bonuses. Added Sea Bream Fishing Huts, which only operate on the ocean, and added sashimi recipes. Added fermentation-related technologies. Added sake, soy sauce, and miso. Added the quest system. Added the Japan map and 26 factions (the quest system only functions when playing on the Japan terrain map). Changed the specifications so technologies are unlocked according to challenge progression. Regular raid contents now also change depending on challenge progression. Changed the specifications so soldiers assigned to barracks or mansions are removed when those buildings are demolished. 【Content Additions & Balance Adjustments】 Added Torii Gates, Stone Lanterns, and Stone Buddhas to the technology tree. Added a meal assignment feature for days with battles. Since cannoneers became stronger due to being able to target pavises, the attack speed of Elite Cannoneers was slightly reduced. Since Elite Shield Soldiers could reach 100% defense rate when combined with Tosei Gusoku armor, their frontal defense rate was slightly reduced. Changed allied gunners’ penetration rate to the same 10% used by enemies. Changed Elite Cannoneers’ penetration rate to 60%. Increased cannon purchase costs. Optimized enemy placement processing. Reduced enemies clipping into buildings. Added the ability to set supply priority from the soldier panel...Read full article on Community Announcements (KC Project)Patch NotesOfficial
Minor Feature Additions & Bug Fixes

Added a feature that displays the name of the block under the cursor in the bottom-right of the screen. Changed the specification so that blocks can be placed on roads and roads can be dug directly. Changed the specification so that the building panel is not closed when combat starts, even if it is open. Added level indicators to the unit details panel. 【Bug Fixes】 Fixed a bug where roads could disappear when loading. Fixed a bug where roads could disappear due to snow. Fixed a bug where tutorial messages were not displayed. In cheat mode, it is now possible to dig foundation stones even without acquiring the foundation stone technology. Fixed an issue where, when blocks were burned by fire, only the surface is now turned into a burned block so that the original block does not turn into plain soil. Fixed a bug where stone wall reinforcement technology was not applied to newly added stone walls. Fixed a bug where stairs could not be built on red-yellow soil. Fixed a bug where the building production efficiency text could disappear when selecting a single building after selecting multiple buildings. Fixed a bug where autosaves were made in a state prior to seasonal block changes. Fixed a bug where loading MOD archer-type units could fail. ver0.701 Major Update: Implementation of Real-World–Based Soils!
【Content Additions & Specification Changes】 Added around 50 types of soil and rock blocks. Fertility has been assigned to each soil type. Set fertility impact values for each crop. For example, soybeans are less affected by fertility, while rice is more strongly affected, creating differences between crops. Added millet, barnyard millet, buckwheat, and sweet potatoes as crops (can be cultivated via domestic technologies). Previously, in-game temperatures were adjusted to about −5°C compared to modern temperatures to match the Sengoku period, but they have now been revised to be slightly warmer. With the introduction of fertility, initial food amounts have been increased on Normal and lower difficulties so that players do not struggle to get started even on poor land. Reduced the damage dealt to buildings by enemy ranged units other than cannon units to one quarter. In addition, ranged units now deal at most 1/20 of a building’s maximum HP as damage. In exchange, enemy melee units’ HP has been increased by 1.8× (to address the issue of watchtowers being easily destroyed by arrows). Significantly strengthened walls. Walls now take only fixed damage by unit type, regardless of the enemy’s attack power. Enlarged the attack effects of cannon units to make them clearly distinguishable from gun units. Increased zoom speed when the camera is close to the ground. Adjusted so that climbing actions are not triggered by small steps such as those around fields. Changed the specification so that no changes are applied in the item selection panel if nothing has been modified. Hints are now displayed on the game over screen. Added an event where Zundamon suggests changing the main base when it takes a certain amount of damage. Reviewed the materials used by buildings that consume soil and rock blocks as materials, such as iron sand washing facilities. Improved the behavior of the block placement panel. Various stair types are now displayed once the corresponding block material has ...Read full article on Community Announcements (KC Project)Patch NotesOfficial
β Update: Realistic Soil and Rock, Bug Fixes, and Specification Changes
A test implementation has been added where ground blocks change when creating a new map, based on real-world japan rock and soil data. Originally, this feature was planned to be implemented after further adjustments, but since major bugs (load errors, units getting stuck at ports, and freezes after combat) occurred in the previous version, the soil update has been included alongside the fixes for those issues. Balance and production-related specifications will be adjusted as needed over time. 【Feature Additions & Specification Adjustments】 Added more than a dozen new block types. Based to some extent on real-world rocks and soils, Japanese-style terrain can now be generated (test feature) Removed the feature that skipped rendering distant units (due to poor reception and frequent recognition as a bug) Changed the specification for generating objects on top of blocks, such as roads and snow. Roads can now be placed directly without changing the underlying block Along with the specification changes, optimized the snow processing that had become heavy Changed the specification so that fields always produce at least 1 output, as they previously produced zero on low-fertility ground 【Bug Fixes】 Fixed a bug where units could get stuck on small steps when climbing a port if its height was almost the same as the adjacent ground Fixed a bug where saving while a repair task was in progress caused the repair to complete immediately upon loading Fixed a bug where roads could not be removed after being placed Fixed a bug where labor numbers were too small to read on the recipe selection screen Fixed a bug where the game could freeze after combat due to an issue with soldiers’ automatic movement processing Fixed a bug where load errors could sometimes occurRead full article on Community Announcements (KC Project)
