About this game

- Story
Our tale starts with two protagonists: Gustave, heir to an esteemed royal line, and Wil, a young man who makes his way in the world performing excavation work.
Though born in the same era, their circumstances could not be more different, and as Gustave is faced with strife and conflict between nations, Wil finds himself confronting a world-threatening calamity that lurks in the shadows.
Their stories gradually coalesce to form a single history.
------------------------------
The game's "History Choice" system gives players the freedom to choose which events to play, and in doing so has them assume the roles of various characters and experience the world's history in fragments.
In addition to the glimmer and combo mechanics that the SaGa series is known for, this title also features one-on-one duels.
Players will find themselves confronted with battles both strategic and highly compelling.
------------------------------
New Features
For this remaster, the game's impressionist watercolor graphics have been upgraded to a higher resolution, giving them a greater sense of warmth and delicacy. With a completely rebuilt UI and a number of new features, the gameplay experience is smoother than ever.
- New Events
Events that touch on stories previously untold in the original have been added, as well as a number of characters who are newly playable in battle.
Through these additions, players will be able to experience the world of Sandail like never before.
- Character Growth
A new feature called "Parameter Inheritance" lets one character inherit the stats of another, allowing for greater customization.
- Featuring Enhanced Bosses!
A number of powerful, augmented bosses have been added for those seeking a greater challenge.
- Dig! Dig! Digger
Diggers you recruit in-game can be sent on expeditions.
Should an expedition end in success, diggers will come home with items—but watch out, because they have a bad habit of slacking off when left unsupervised!
- Gameplay Improvements
With the addition of things like high-speed functionality and a New Game+ mode that allows you to carry over your completion data, changes have been made to create a more comfortable gameplay experience.

SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered (PS5) Review
SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered completes the Frontier series of remasters onto modern platforms, but beyond sharing its namesake and a few other nods and easter eggs to its predecessor, the game can be fully enjoyed without prior knowledge of the series. SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is a bit of an odd duck in that it doesn’t follow the usual conventions of a JRPG title. Instead, the game uses a storybook approach that allows the player to jump between different stories within the grander narrative of SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered. In one instance, you might be following in the footsteps of your missing father, looking for clues in a seedy bar, while in the next, you’re a royal trying to adjust to a new life after leaving your kingdom behind. Thankfully, the whiplash from jumping between narratives is never too jarring — instead adding to the charm of SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered. Conversely, the game does stumble somewhat in properly explaining all of its mechanics,... Read moreRead full article on CGMagazine (Zubi Khan)Press Coverage
One of Square Enix' most underrated PlayStation-era JRPGs just shadow dropped on Steam
Saga Frontier 2 didn't exactly set the world on fire when it released for the original PlayStation in 2000—at least in the west—but time has treated it well. Like its predecessor, it ignores the then-ascendant move to 3D in favor of lavishly illustrated hand-drawn backgrounds and cheerful sprite work. As a result—and sure, this is subjective—its art style has held up remarkably well compared to the likes of Final Fantasy 7, for example...
