Now is Time for Tag!
Everybody keeps telling us that we are complete idiots because we as indie developers are trying to make a multiplayer game for 8 players. And they are absolutely speaking the truth! It has been quite a challenge to get enough players to do proper playtests. Heck, we can’t even fill a lobby ourselves. But but, this time will be different! TagTime is a part of the Steam Multiplayer Festival - Four is A Party! It’s running from now December 9th 19 CET till December 16th. So we will get a bunch of Steam visibility the next couple of days and to top it off we are guns blazing on marketing! And to top it off to the very max, the game is now cross-platform and can be played on both Android and iOS. Hopefully that will give us enough concurrent players for people to see how epic TagTime really is! You just need to play against real players and not shitty bots! So put on some Diana Ross, grab your friends and get some tag time going please! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpx0JKaNXvs&ab_channel=DianaRoss-Topic Mobile links beneath: Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.niila.tagtime iOS: https://apps.apple.com/dk/app/tagtime/id6738966160?l=da Upside, Down. Steam that Deck Up!
Boom-BammaLam you beautiful rando few readers out there. Quick update! Steam Deck Compatible Activated! We finally got our hands on one of the new beautiful white Steam Decks, and are pleased to announce that TagTime runs and plays like a dream on the little wonder. The only caveat being that the GUI isn't navigable with the controller yet. So you have navigate the menu through the touch screen. Controllers online... We also got some generic in-game controller support, and we have currently tested it on an xBox controller and a Stadia controller (why the hell do we have on of those you might think) and it works like a charm (again except the GUI stuff). But we need to test on other controllers, especially PS controllers. So if you have one, do try the game out and let us know how it feels. Engaging Steam Deck... Controllers activated... 3 2 1 Lift off... BOOOMMOOOMWWWOOOGGHGHGHGGOGOGGGHHGOHGOGH! Launch succesfulRead full article on Community Announcements (niila)AnnouncementsOfficial
Finding equilibrium. It's a TagTime
Hello our dearest followers and passerbys! Lets not talk too much about the weather and jump straight into the fray! We’ve been working thoroughly on a few things. First off the game has recently been extremely unbalanced in favor of the monsters. Balance is not something we have been focused on so far. Reason being, the constant introduction of new features continuously changes the balance of the game. And so it seemed like a Sisyphian task to try and balance it. But we have done a minor gameplay feature freeze and been hard at work making the game balanced. The equilibrium has been reached! This means the game is in a prime state and fun as f*ck! Or to be honest, more likely still unbalanced. So we would love for you to smack our equilibrium. We will be opening up TagTime on Thursday and it can be played till the end of Sunday! Please do leave feedback on our Discord telling us how we could miss such an f***ing completely unbalanced OP feature. Do tell us what features you’d like to see, or maybe just tell us in a very polite manner how garbage TagTime is. If you want to make sure to match against other players, bring you friends or join us Thursday 10pm Central European Time for a casual and chill session. If you are a loner or don’t like to play with other people, fear not! We’ve optimized the bots quite a bit, so they should be way better to play with now. We would love feedback on those as well, so for any loner who wants give feedback, but fears the discord, do write an anonymous mail to contact@niila.io. On another note, if you want to know how we fucked up our attendance at the latest Steam Scream Fest, check out this Reddit post. And on a third note, here’s an overview of the changes we’ve done to TagTime recently: Balancing A while back we changed the movement speed and attack power of the monsters, because they felt bad and frustrating to play. This completely changed the dynamics of the game, making it: Way faster overall. Monsters felt more powerful. A...Read full article on Community Announcements (niila)AnnouncementsOfficial
It's TagTime! New Feature coming up!
An eternal night full of ghosts and spectacles! It's November in Denmark, which means two-thirds of the day is utter and complete darkness. It's cold and wet, with a heavy mass of grey clouds suppressing the sky and sun. We haven't seen a beam of sunlight in weeks. This means it's the perfect time to get blasted by the artificial light of the monitors! Get some binging going, surf the net and game that shit up! If you feel like you have completed the internet and are looking for something new, read on. Enough jibberish bullshit and to the point: Testing a new feature! Them ghosts! TagTime is supposed to be a casual and quick take on asym multiplayer, but right now, it feels shitty when you are killed as a Runt and turn into a tame wisp. You feel left out of the game like you are playing some try-hard Counter Strike. To counter this, we're changing what happens when a Runt dies. Now, when killed, a Runt will turn into a ghost. In ghost form, you move faster and can still gather resources and build. However, you cannot break eggs or free the cauldron. If you’re hit by a monster, you become temporarily stunned. The theses are: - Ghosts will make Runts more active despite being dead. - Ghosts can scout the map quickly to locate monsters. - Ghosts, with their speed, can activate the harvest multiplier for living Runts more easily. - Ghosts can help living Runts escape monsters by assisting with barricade building. - Ghosts can begin fortifying an egg or cauldron, making it easier for Runts to break it. Currently, egg capture isn’t very common since Runts want to have enough resources (and power-ups) before attempting it. We hope that ghosts will help build barricades to encourage more egg captures. These more active ghosts will also impact game balance. They should help equalize the power curve, as monsters' power increases with number of dead Runts. If you want to try out the new feature and see how it impacts the game, join us this Friday the 15th of November at 10 pm ...Read full article on Community Announcements (niila)AnnouncementsOfficial
