About this game

Plastic Tactics Online pits teams of the classic plastic soldier toys against one another in strategic turn-based combat. The battle rages in hand-crafted levels all over the house, so grab a friend and drop into the chaos!

Throw down in action figure scale levels built from a mix of everyday household objects and everything in your childhood toybox. These warzones will be loaded with hazards and environment-specific features, allowing you to strategically manipulate the layout of the battlefield- outwit, outmaneuver, outgun.
More levels will be added over the course of Early Access and beyond, so keep your eyes peeled for updates!

Move and shoot in classic 3rd Person Shooter fashion in a competitive Turn-Based Strategy game- shoot it out with powerful weapons or flank your foes to knock them off the level into the abyss. Plan your moves carefully and smash the enemy!

Enter the top-down Recon Mode to plan your attack, then use the Sprint ability to get into position or the Lock ’n’ Load ability to bring the pain. Scavenge weapons and equipment ranging from the Bazooka to the Swap Gun from randomized pickups to fuel the chaos and encourage creativity and improvisation. More gear will be launched over the course of development to open up new playstyles in response to how our players strategize- stay tuned for more!

Plastic Tactics Online - 1.5.3 Update released
PatchPost engine update there are still bugs that need fixing while we work on the most requested features, specifically looking at a Single Player mode that includes some AI players to test your skill. Spectator mode seemed to be broken and was subsequently fixed. If a player in spectator mode uses the move controls (WASD on kbd or the left stick on the gamepad) the camera should track the group of units on the map while orbiting along a fixed track the encompasses the map. This track has three heights to it, allowing the player to effectively go up one level or down one level while moving the camera along the track. Targeting is to the central mass of all units. This allows players between turns to scout other player units and identify pickups and other locations.Spectator Mode can also be accessed during the player's turn at present, although a future Recon mode with some more freedom of camera movement and aim/zoom functionality is in the works. FixesFIXES: - Spectator controls no longer ignored for player - WASD now used to control spectator camera on track around map, WS goes up/down track, AD goes round - Focus is all units, weighted to player - Help UI prefabs updated UPDATES: - removed additive scene manager for now - caused some full build errors and was unused - identify connected players so the game would not spawn a unit on top of an item spawn - build settingsADDED: - Game version on main screen - Show the game version so folks who are playing know they are on the latestRead full article on Community Announcements (KibbleStudios)Patch NotesOfficial

Dev Log - Volume 4
Plastic Tactics Online - Feedback and FixesWell its been a couple weeks since we launched and its time for a new update. Yes we have plans but we unfortunately also have bugs. Release 1.5.1 will drop shortly and its just bug fixes at this time. The Marketing Work is Never DoneWe continue to play and pull shots from the game but are actively seeking players to provide feedback. Our Discord is the best way (you can get to it from the game). There are a few higher profile features we are working towards and your feedback helps us know where to focus. New levels and weapons are always in the mix but some of the bigger items include bots to fill out games, new game modes, and zone based weapons (like mine droppers). If you have thoughts or ideas we are eager to hear. Bugs & FixesFollowing any major release there are always issues that get through the cracks. Some are cosmetic, some are functional but inevitably they all have to get addressed. Through the first few weeks we have identified a number of issues that have been fixed and with 1.5.1 we'll address a large number of higher profile issues. I'll leave the detail to some release notes.Read full article on Community Announcements (KibbleStudios)AnnouncementsOfficial

Dev Log - Volume 3
Plastic Tactics Online - Coming SoonSolving one of our critical bugs has taken much longer than expected and required some refactoring to enable us to move forward more easily in the future. If you've been a dev you get this and may want to skip ahead The BackstoryA few years back I was working as an instructor at one of the more well known Game Design schools and part of the student experience was a capstone project. This project was modeled after much larger studio processes (where most of the instructors had once worked). The culmination of these projects was often a solid prototype game with potential, but it died there. So I formed Kibble Game Studios to try and get some of these to market. The alumni built out the prototype into a full game, we eventually share whatever we earn. The developers get valuable experience and that may help with their next project. These are first time devs though, so sometimes they make choices and build things in, how can I say, non-optimal ways. After the team moves on, my team and I get to work figuring out what needs to be revised and what doesn't. What to Fix, What to LeaveLast week we ran into one of those things that needed to be fixed. It was highlighted by a simple bug but it highlighted a game flow issue and architectural inconsistency that needed to be fixed. Happy to say we have that resolved and the update will give us the ability to more easily add modes and enhance the game flow in future. The Marketing Work is Never DoneTime to make sure people know about the game. Our audience is small but we'll be enhancing that over the next couple months using tools we added to the engine (some home grown, some packages we included) to help us gather enough media to keep everybody interested. Seems this is a much bigger challenge than expected, so the first advice to all aspiring developers -- build these tools in to your plan in the beginning. Screenshot tools, like being able to position a camera and take a high res shot are c...Read full article on Community Announcements (KibbleStudios)
