About this game
Welcome to the Moon, Space Cadet!
Roving Rovers is a cozy exploration and resource management game where you pilot your very own lunar rover! With humanity's arrival on the horizon, you have to explore the moon's surface to find useful resources to ensure the moon is fit for human inhabitants.
You will traverse across imported scans of the moon's surface, meaning the craters, rocks and ridges that you drive over are based on a genuine lunar landscape.
Customisable Rovers
Travel across the moon in style, and own it! Your little rover is customisable, so make it your own to suit your taste.
Resource Management
You’ll need to collect and gather resources while exploring and completing missions. Every resource brings you one step closer to figuring out if the moon is going to be humanity's new home!
Exploration Is Key
Enjoy the Lunar landscape, and sink into the cosmic environment as you explore! Don’t leave any stone unturned, or any crater overlooked, important resources or information could be waiting for you!
Feature Summary:

Australian Rover Challenge 2025
Watch the 2025 Australian Rover challenge online! Every March, university robotics teams from Australia and around the world descend on Adelaide to compete in the Australian Rover Challenge (ARCh). Founded in 2021 by the University of Adelaide’s Andy Thomas Centre for Space Resources (ATCSR), this Australian-based robotics competition sees tertiary student teams design and build semi-autonomous teleoperated rovers and test them against a range of operational scenarios set on the lunar surface. Now in its fifth year, the competition is bigger than ever before, attracting teams from all around the world and reinforcing the desire students have to address the challenges faced in returning humans to the Moon and eventually on to Mars. The concept for Roving Rovers is based on this very challenge. Each year, we work with ATCSR/Adelaide Uni on an updated version of Roving Rovers, pitting players against the very same scenarios featured in the rover challenge.Read full article on Community Announcements (MiniMammoth)
