We hope you’re enjoying your journey through the dream.It’s hard to believe, but it’s already been nearly a year since Shape of Dreams first began exploring the dream world together with all of you.Over the past year, countless Travelers from around the world have ventured through the Rapids, surprising even our development team with builds and playstyles more creative—and sometimes more outrageous—than anything we could have imagined.With our first anniversary just around the corner, we thought this would be the perfect time to look back at the incredible journey you’ve created together!The Numbers Made Us Look TwiceWhile putting together this infographic, we had a few moments where members of the development team asked, “For real?” and went back to double-check the logs.Add up all the time you’ve spent on your journeys, and it comes to a staggering 388 years, 114 days, 6 hours, and 23 minutes. In that time, you’ve defeated an incredible 951,010,652 monsters. That works out to roughly 730 monsters per Traveler.And over those countless years, poor Belphomet was defeated a whopping 37,119,217 times. The development team would like to extend our deepest sympathies to this unfortunate boss.Co-op AdventuresYou embarked on 17,102,733 co-op runs and revived your teammates 30,127,767 times.In other words, someone went down nearly twice per co-op run on average—and yet, time and time again, you picked each other back up and kept moving forward, proving just how strong the bonds between fellow Travelers can be.(Or maybe you were just playing with a certain Lucid Dream active.)The Most Popular TravelersWhen it came to Travelers, Mist proudly took the #1 spot, with Lacerta and Bismuth close behind as some of your most trusted companions.   Dear Travelers,We hope your journeys are treating you well.While we needed a little more time than expected to deliver the update at the level of quality we’re aiming for, we’re doing our best to have it ready for you in September, in celebration of Shape of Dreams’ first anniversary.Thank you sincerely for your patience and continued support.Over the past few weeks, we’ve been sharing hints about a new Traveler who will be joining the Dream in our next update.And today, we’re finally ready to introduce Cetus, the Traveler those clues have been pointing to.From the path that brought him here to the formidable powers he uses to freeze the battlefield, let’s take a closer look at Cetus. Cetus, the Frost ExecutionerCetus is a ranged fighter who unleashes the powerful frost imbued within his body. Imprisoned and subjected to brutal experiments by the Lucid Sect, he still bears the scars of what was done to him. The massive, heavy pillory and chains he carries, along with the blue frost enveloping his body, hint at the source of his power while also symbolizing the guilt he can never escape. The symbol revealed in our first teaser depicts Cetus bound to his pillory. It represents both the sins he must carry with him and his determination to bear their weight entirely on his own.A Cold That Consumed His SoulCetus was once one of the Lucid Sect’s most loyal executioners. He carried out the Sect’s commands, punishing those deemed part of the darkness. But after accidentally discovering the horrifying truth the Sect had kept hidden, he chose the path of an apostate. The price was devastating. Imprisoned deep underground by the Sect, Cetus became the subject of cruel experiments. As a consequence, his body was infused with a terrible cold that he would never be able to escape.   Dear Travelers,Every Traveler in Shape of Dreams has their own reason for setting foot into the Rapids.Today, we'd like to share a glimpse into the untold stories of a few of them.Three Travelers awakened within the RapidsYubar, Nachia, and Shell.They come from different worlds, bear different appearances, and begin their journeys for entirely different reasons.Yet they all share one thing in common.Each of them chooses their own path instead of the role they were meant to play.In this Travel Log, we'll reveal just a small part of the stories that led these three Travelers to that defining choice. Traveler 1: YubarYubar was never meant to be a Traveler.Though he existed within a fairy tale, he was once an absolute god who held the stars, the galaxies, and even the laws of his own world within himself.But after learning that his world might exist as part of a much greater story, he took his very first step beyond the boundaries of the world he had always known.With a small mortal body, Yubar finds wonder in the simplest sensations—the taste of earth, walking beneath the night sky, sweat, and even exhaustion.Before long, he learns of a plan to merge dreams and reality into one, and realizes that the reality he longed to witness, just as it is now, may disappear forever.The god who once knew everything now prepares to stand against another god, determined to witness the world that still lies beyond his understanding.
