Shards of Her 0.4.6 Genesis & Trading Cards

Hey there, Here we go with Shards of Her 0.4.6 Genesis update! While most of the features were presented in the last DEVLog, you can check them there, no need to repeat the info. But here's a TL;DR version of the latest DEVLog for you.New options can be found in the Options -> AccessibilityCompact Menu - Just in case you prefer a simpler menu, you can toggle this option to get it.Skip Intro - This skips the entire game intro and sends you straight to the Main Menu.Black & White Filter - I don't know who needs this, but it's something I've always wanted to add. And, due to the nature of the Interface Language update, several menus were changed and updated to adhere to your selected language. Now, you might find some UI elements that are still in English. This is either because of terms that aren't meant to be translated, like Aethra, Aevia, Lake of Whispers, Echo's Scar, Shard of Gluttony, Genesis Station, and so on. These terms are intended to remain in English. If they don't fit this pattern, their design will be changed in future updates. Menus like FRAGMENTS were left as they were because that particular menu is going through an overhaul, and there was no point in changing it now, only to change it again in the next update, let's say. There are also some messages that are still in English, mostly related to the Game Engine. These are tied to the Ren'Py translation system. I haven't touched those yet because I'm still deciding whether to use that system or create my own, so for now, they'll remain as is.The DLC Menu has now been added. Well, it was always there, but under the name GOD's SUMMIT. As I mentioned early in development, this is endgame content. I also added the new CARDS OF DESTINY, but details for this will be revealed later in its own announcement post. It's still early in development, but the core gameplay is about 90% done and working! Now, you've seen this screen before, as the UI is now consistent across all menu choices. However, from now on, each me...

Shards of Her - DEVLog June

Here we go with the DEVLog for June!Of course, there will be story content; after all, the whole ACT IV is about Remembrance. Now, let's delve into what else is new! The Options menu is done and ready to be released. Sure, the Accessibility tab will get more options as we progress, but for now, we have three options there...Compact Menu - Just in case you prefer a simpler menu, you can toggle this option to get it.Skip Intro - This skips the entire game intro and sends you straight to the Main Menu.Black & White Filter - I don't know who needs this, but it's something I've always wanted to add.Below, you can find the comparison between the Compact Menu vs. Full, and the Black & White Filter vs. Color....and with the Black & White Filter applied. Again, this can be toggled from the Options menu, but you'll need to advance to the next scene when turned off to restore full color mode. Also, the Game Menu has been changed! This is the menu you get when you hit ESC or Right-Click. (It's a WIP for now, but it's currently working!)As you know from the last DEVLog in May, Interface Language was on its way, and for this update, it's here! Now, I know it's not perfect, but I'm doing my best with the resources I have. There might be some grammar issues and so on, but I would really appreciate it if you reported them. Because of this new feature, some parts of the game had to be redesigned.Below, you can find the new look of these menus, including the updated Shards of Her menu (where you'll find the game's ACTs).Next up, the Astrology Menu. Currently, there's nothing to "click" here, this is for later game events, but here's its new look. The Characters menu also needed a redesign, and I'm pretty happy with this version! (Note: Powers are just placeholders for now; they'll reflect each character's true abilities in the final update.)And finally, the Timeline menu. I had to ditch the old design for this new one. It's still a WIP, so expect more changes! And some other changes here...

Shards of Her - DEVLog May

Here we go with another DEVLog! Besides the story content, there will be some new features, and the new Options Menu will be available, plus a few more things. I'm also working on the Interface Language to be fully functional by the time the next update is released. There is a lot to handle, so I can't give an ETA, but I'm working on it daily alongside the story. Now, let's focus on the main things that will change or be added in the next update. First off, as I said, the new Options Menu will be available, fully structured and with options for you. More options will be added, especially in the Accessibility tab. Now, let's take a quick peek at it. I censored Aya because of the preview; don't worry, she's not censored in the game. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44181420/e24f80d77d789b9efde8316bfefc66f1cf4f67d4.png As you can see, we have a new, tabbed, and well-organized UI. Below, I'll present what options can be found in each of the tabs. DISPLAY Display Mode - FullScreen / Cinematic Cinematic Mode - Toggle On/Off Textbox Opacity - Slider Text Size - Slider SOUND Music Volume - Slider Sound Volume - Slider Voice Volume - Voice Test plus Slider Mute All Toggle Button GAMEPLAY Unseen Text - Toggle After Choices - Toggle Rollback Side - Left / Right Text Speed - Slider Auto-Play Speed - Slider LANGUAGE Interface Language - English / Italian / Chinese / Spanish / German / Russian / Romanian / French Game Dialogue - TBA The Accessibility tab is a work in progress, as there will be some other options like High Contrast and Subtitles settings, but this is subject to change. Now, I've added Cinematic Mode to the game, which can be toggled ON/OFF at any time. It does exactly what you expect, and I've tried to make the experience a bit more cinematic. Below, you can find a comparison between the default and cinematic modes. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44181420/bdce3b0330a887c376f2ad877a8ce8f949c5e186.png Now, for some technical things you may not care about: since I'm working on the Interface L...

Shards of Her - 0.4.4 The Tempest

Hey there, So, Shards of Her 0.4.4 The Tempest update is here, featuring new story content and updates to the previous ACTs. There are improvements across the entire game, including writing, visuals, and audio. While there is still much work to be done, I wanted to release this update now as it offers an overall enhancement to the game in all aspects. "They survived one Dawn, hoping for peace... They should have prayed the dawn never came again." - Aethra There are new characters entering the scene, with more to come. Some characters are also leaving the scene, as the game world is quite dangerous, and lately, whispers can be heard once again. STORY & LORE - Bits and pieces were rewritten throughout the entire game to fix some story inconsistencies or simply rewritten for better flow. New lore details have been added, both in-game and in the Characters menu. So, make sure you check it out! In some cases, certain characters will have their full backstory included in the biography on their Characters page. So far, there are two such characters; you'll discover them as you play the latest update! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44181420/8a8d5ca163221de189d5cfe468a742050ba747a7.png VISUALS - This is an ongoing work. The Prologue scene has been improved, and where possible, the quality of the renders was enhanced or they were re-rendered. I'm striving to achieve a cinematic level with each shot and to deliver the best possible experience, both visually and story-wise. Visually and in terms of writing, the entire game will be upgraded as we progress. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44181420/a9dc5ea3ad0f7225ea45ddf16496facbe0950eaf.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44181420/76ad2e9e5718afde853c066a914f82acee1ea5b7.jpg UI - The Main Menu of the game has been slightly changed. The animated buttons are not final, and regarding them, please let me know if you experience any performance issues, such as menu lag or other similar problems. The Options menu is also undergoing some changes, and the Fragments menu (pre...

Shards of Her - Soulfire Awakens

Dressed not in shadows, but in light seemingly woven from sacrifice itself, her wings unfurl like the heart of a sun newly risen, not consuming, but fiercely warming. Where darkness lingered and sorrow took root, she brought the gentle promise of renewal. Perhaps an unseen resonance lingered near her tears, an echo of the ultimate love that forged her being in celestial fire. This was no final judgment, no inevitable harvest come due. She was the cloak to despair's lament, the fierce tenderness that shields the fragile spark of life when all else seems lost. The deep wounds of a broken world called to her, not for reckoning, but for mending. Hope itself had taken wing, not to erase the darkness entirely, but to prove that even the deepest night must yield to dawn, that even the greatest loss can ignite the brightest, most protective flame... "Even the longest night ends. I am the dawn that follows." {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44181420/7491d41bdb4cc155e331ad200a36fc9617608c6d.png
