Embark on a steampunk adventure where your choices shape both past and future. As you navigate the intricate world of Clockwork Revolution, use your actions to alter history in this unique first-person RPG from inXile Entertainment.

About this game

Wield the power of an incredible device to travel back in time, changing the past and rewriting the future of the city you call home: the vibrant steampunk metropolis of Avalon.

In this immersive RPG, you'll step into the shoes of Morgan Vanette, a fully customizable player-character and member of the Rotten Row Hooligans. Travel between past and present as you battle the ruthless Lady Ironwood, who has been manipulating time to keep the working class struggling while amassing immense wealth and power.

Your interactions and choices will have a butterfly effect on the deep, narrative-driven world, shaping characters and events in unexpected ways.

With the power of time in your hands, how will you fight your way through Avalon’s history and redefine its future?

CONTROL YOUR JOURNEY, YOUR WAY

Create your character from the ground up and specialize with gear, attributes, and skills. Your choices can let you hack hostile automaton robots, craft intricate steampunk weapons and gadgets, and control time itself.

A WONDROUS STEAMPUNK WORLD

Welcome to Avalon, a Victorian-era metropolis where automaton robots patrol the streets, wealthy citizens replace their limbs with ornate clockwork prosthetics, steam trains fly overhead, and mechanical servants fulfill their masters’ every whim.

YOUR CHOICES RESHAPE AVALON

Your decisions in the past echo through time, reshaping Avalon in unexpected ways. From character interactions to storefronts to the city itself, your choices–big and small–won't just change the world, they’ll rewrite it.

A DEEP AND GRITTY ADVENTURE

Experience the industrial rot, class warfare, and occult machinery that make Avalon a dangerous, unpredictable, and darkly funny place. You’ll cross paths with unforgettable characters: friends who betray you, enemies who make a little too much sense, and a city that remembers every choice you make.

Clockwork Revolution: Burlesque, Bullets, and Butterfly Effects

From the desk of Chad Moore, Game Director. On behalf of the team at inXile entertainment, I’m thrilled to share more of Clockwork Revolution — our time-bending first-person action RPG set in the steampunk city of Avalon, with a cast of unforgettable characters, and a world that reacts deeply to every choice you make. We’re hard at work on the game and can’t wait for you to play it next year. Avalon can be beautiful, but it isn’t a utopia. It runs on industry and ambition, and it stays polished up top by keeping its dirty hands underneath the table. From the ash-choked streets of the Tangle to the lavish promenades where the city pretends it’s something better — everything here has a cost, and the folks at the bottom usually pay for it.Crime bosses might request a foul-mouthed automaton in trade for their services, while places like the Burning House offer a different kind of service. They soothe their clientele’s pains, and performers like Commodity command the room — equal parts spectacle and survival. This is Avalon. It takes a special kind of person to survive here, and that person is you. You are Morgan Vanette and your look, your skills, and your choices can shape you throughout the game — who you’re seeing in the trailer is just one version, not the version. At the start of Clockwork Revolution, you’ll customize who Morgan is, and through your decisions during the game, who Morgan becomes.Guiding you through this world is Prentice, a flying automaton you meet very early in the game. She’s part observer, part companion, and will join you on your adventures across the timescape. She’s tied to how you end up with the Chronometer (the device that makes time travel possible) and becomes your guide through the branching realities you create. She’s got her own abilities and her own skill tree, and she’ll give you new ways to see and interact with the world. The Chronometer can unlock new abilities that directly let you manipulate time. One of the new abilities we sh...

Today at the Xbox Games Showcase we were thrilled to show off this extended look into the steampunk world of Clockwork Revolution. This new trailer delves into the darker side of Avalon, and the mean streets that you (as Morgan Vanette) grew up on with your gang, the Rotten Row Hooligans. In this trailer we set out to show some of the depth of the world, the grittier side of town, as well as some of the RPG systems you’ll use to customize your character, interact with the people and world, and take the fight to Lady Ironwood and her forces.  Wishlist Clockwork Revolution! Steam Xbox

    Q&A with Clockwork Devs

Alongside the new trailer we sat down with Studio Head Brian Fargo, Game Director Chad Moore, and Principal Designer Jason Anderson to talk about what we showed off at the Xbox Games Showcase. We chat about everything from automatons to time powers, our deep weapon customization system, and staying true to our inXile heritage of highly reactive RPGs. Here’s a sneak peek:Speaking of combat, let’s talk about weapons and gadgets. The weapon bench is a standout moment for me.Chad: From the onset of the project, we wanted to pay off the fantasy of being a steampunk inventor and tinkerer, and our weapon system is a major part of that. When you find a new weapon, it’s a major moment, and that’s because you will have that gun for the rest of the game. When you upgrade your weapons at the weapon bench, you’ll have literally hundreds of different ways to customize them, depending on the kind of player you are. The whole experience really makes the weapon the star of the show. We also have a bunch of cool gadgets, which are essentially steampunky grenades and deployables, which, along with your time powers, round out your arsenal. Check out the full exclusive interview here on Xbox Wire.Wishlist Clockwork Revolution!Steam Xbox
