1500 Wishlists and a thank you showcase!
Hey folks! It's me again, Gabriel Schade, the solo developer behind Elidriel.First of all, I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has been following me on this journey.Elidriel just reached 1,500+ wishlists! And as a little thank-you, I brought you a brand-new combat showcase! In this video, the boss isn't doing much, and that's intentional. I wanted to put the spotlight on YOU and show what you can do with Elidriel's combat system. In my last post, I explained how the Job System works, but there's a secret sauce that I still haven't told you. The Job system allow you to equip two jobs per character, your main one (known as Core) and a secondary job (known as Echo). During battle, you can switch between them on the fly, opening up new combinations and strategies, since you can change characters skills and attributes whenever you want using the Core Echo battle command! This showcase also features few systems that I haven't fully explained yet! You can call inactive party members into battle for a single action or swap to the current member whenever you want. You can combine elements to generate elemental reactions, for example Fire + Fire = Burn, Fire + Thunder = Explosion! And finally you can also check some actions with quick time events, parries and of course, a powerful Synergy Skill to finish things off!I hope this showcase gets you as excited about Elidriel's combat as I am!Thank you so much for following along, wishlisting the game, and supporting this journey. Every wishlist, comment, and share genuinely means a lot to me as a solo developer.Until next time,Gabriel - Solo & Passionate Indie Game DeveloperDon't forget to wishlist Elidriel!Read full article on Community Announcements (gabriel.schade)AnnouncementsOfficial
Job System
Hey folks! It's me again, Gabriel Schade, the solo developer behind Elidriel. One of the core systems in Elidriel is the Job System, designed to give you the freedom to shape your characters however you want. Each character starts with an initial Job Path: Skill, Might, Wisdom, and Creation. That provides the initial combat style for them, but that doesn't mean it has to remain this way!Build your partyThe Job System concept is pretty simple, you can increase your Job level using Elidriel's Dust, an item that you will receive automatically when you level up or when accomplishing some tasks, like side quests or defeating optional bosses. It's simple, each Elidriel's Dust equals a Job level up.As you level up your Jobs, you can learn new skills!Unlock new Jobs within your current path! The Wisdom path takes this idea even further. With a huge variety of spells and magical abilities to discover, the Wisdom path offers a large number of possible combinations to be a specialist in different kinds of spells:Mix. Match. Experiment.Eventually, after consuming some Elidriel's Dust, new Job Paths can be unlocked for your character! And you can pick any Job Path you want! There are Jobs that can be only be unlocked by leveling up Jobs from different paths, which means more combinations to find builds that suit the way you want to play! For example, you could combine the defensive abilities of a Knight with the holy magic and support abilities of a Cleric to create a Templar. And these are only some of the possibilities. The Job System is about experimentation and discovery. Choose the abilities you want. Combine Jobs from different paths. Create unexpected builds. And turn your characters into something unique!Thank you so much for following along and supporting this journey.Until next time,Gabriel - Solo & Passionate Indie Game DeveloperDon't forget to wishlist Elidriel!Read full article on Community Announcements (gabriel.schade)AnnouncementsOfficial
Elidriel's character's art are finished & website is live!
Hey folks! It's me again, Gabriel Schade, the solo developer behind Elidriel.Last time I shared that we reached 1k wishlists, I still want to thank you all for that!Since the last post, we have couple news, an important one is: Elidriel website is live at: https://elidriel.com/Check that out! Also, the last time I shared the new art for Sarah & Helena, of course I have to show the other teammates as well! So, that's how the gang looks like now!As you may have already checked, that's not the only think that has changed, Elidriel also got a new set of graphical assets for the store itself! That's almost the end for the graphical updates and we can go back to focus on new gameplay mechanics! Talking about mechanics, Emmy has a special ability, she is the only character that can manipulate magical elements without using any spells. The reason for her abilities remains unknown, but because of it, she is able to create powerful elemental reactions, using multiple elements in the same skill!Using Thunderfall Arrow, she changes the weather to make it rain! After all enemies are soaked she casts a powerful arrow combined with Thunder element, creating the elemental reaction Eletrify (Water + Thunder)! Thank you so much for following along and supporting this journey.Until next time,Gabriel - Solo & Passionate Indie Game DeveloperDon't forget to wishlist Elidriel!Read full article on Community Announcements (gabriel.schade)AnnouncementsOfficial
The First Milestone for Elidriel
Hey folks! It's me again, Gabriel Schade, the solo developer behind Elidriel.I want to share something really AWESOME with you all: we just reached 1,000+ wishlists!Yeah, it may look like it's just a number, but it represents lots of sleepless nights and the constant effort to improve with every single thing in the game.Every decision, mechanics, level, system, and every single tweak exists because I want to share something with you. I want you to experience something, to feel something. Making a game alone isn’t easy, and there are many days when motivation isn't enough and discipline has to kick in. But seeing that number means that, on some level, there are 1,000 people who believe in this project, and that is incredible. And by the way, the last months without posting here definitely didn’t mean I stopped working on the game. Quite the opposite. They were actually really intense, and I'm happy to share that I finally found the aesthetic and art style I want for the game. So I present, the brand new-art for Sarah and Helena! It wasn’t just the visuals that evolved during these past months. The gameplay itself also received major improvements, with new mechanics, equipments that work as tools to interact with the world, and a much more polished battle system. Battle now feels faster, more dynamic, and far more satisfying, and I can’t wait to show more of how these systems are making Elidriel better.I'll be able to share way more things soon, but that's it for now. Once again, a HUGE thank you to everyone following along and supporting this journey. You are all awesome!
