In 2051, after 20 years of intense chaos, society finally settled. In Star Valley, one of the biggest metropolises in the world, Four powerful individuals gained fame around the world as the most powerful and unstoppable wizards, each of them being revered and feared like gods. Destruction is routine in this city, as the escalating war waged between these "gods" is affecting more and more people that have nothing to do with it. All have different reasons but all want the same goal: dominate the city and have complete freedom within it
You play as Juliana Grey, a mysterious young woman that troughout her life she survived with nothing but her abilities and wits, robbing and dealing with powerful wizards in order to get by. While the rest of the world cowers in fear, she's more than confident that she can get by anyone without being seen, and deal with them with nothing more than her trusty crossbow.
With unsought but welcomed help from her hacker friend Eliza, she plans to hunt down all of the "Gods" of Star Valley and liberate herself and the people from their tyranny all the meanwhile proving to the world you don't need to match their power and destruction to fight back.
Will you believe in legends, or will you become one?

Mana Expel demo update v1.0.9
Hey there! This update is mostly to fix some bugs that could be frustrating to encounter, along with other minor fixes. Changes: Restarting levels under certain conditions made your progress on health/adrenaline upgrades disappear. This has now been fixed. The same could happen with coins you collected on the previous level. Also fixed. Changed the enemies at the end of Central Highway to always be facing backwards and adjusted their positioning so that the spread arrow is a bit easier to hit. Locked doors that you unlocked are now locked again after restarting the level or revisiting the level in a new game +. Adjusted the bosses' rooms so that locking yourself out of their arenas is either impossible or at least significantly harder to do. Everything is still subject to change, and any and all feedback is still very much welcomed. Thank you!Read full article on Community Announcements (lactrailgames)Patch NotesOfficial
Demo update version 1.0.7
Hey there! We're issuing an update to introduce the brand new music composed by the excellent ElevenWAV. We hope you enjoy it! Additionally, we're making a few adjustments to make the game a little easier and adding some quality of life improvements. We're hard at work on the rest of the game, but for now, enjoy! Changes New music! It was composed by the talented ElevenWAV. Check it out! Changed some of the attacks of the two bosses to be a bit easier to dodge. Changed sewers to make shooting ghouls' shadows a bit more consistent. Changed some walls in the levels to be easier to acess and slide in. Changed the quit button to make you return to title screen instead. Now, the chain resets every time you exit a level, but the extra adrenaline bar is still kept if you filled it to 100. Added an option to remap to middle mouse button. Elisa on the level exit will now act scared if there are any enemies still suspicious and/or alert. Added an option for healing to restore all of your health, in case you're having a difficult time. It's purely optional and there's no punishment! Everything is still subject to change and any and all feedback are still very much welcomed. Thank you!Read full article on Community Announcements (lactrailgames)Patch NotesOfficial
Mana Expel Demo update v1.0.6
Hello everyone! This, for now, is planned to be the last update to the demo before we focus on, well, developing the rest of the game. This doesn't mean we won't update this demo to adress bugs and other small things, however. Thanks to everybody who cared enough to give feedback, and to everyone who simply played it. Releasing this demo is a huge milestone for us, and although the reception wasn't perfect, we're more motivated than ever to see this game out into the world. Onwards and upwards! Changes Improved the relationship between adrenaline and the chain meter, to reduce exploits. Improved Level Alarm system. Now, you can run away from alert enemies to make them "lose you from sight". You have to get away significantlly far to make it work, and facing them in combat is still the easiest way out of it. Improved level design and the background elements on the tutorial level to make it a bit more clear what you need to do. Improved level design on the second area to ease enemies navigation and improve gameplay. You can now redo the tutorial by selecting new game. Before, the option only showed up if you deleted your save file. Added a way to "empty" a button on button mapping, to make it easier to remap keys. Improved scrolling on the score screen, you can now do that with a controller, as well as improvements made for keyboard & mouse. Fixed a bug that made you get stuck on Lucia's door if you shoot her preemptively. Fixed lock on symbol on top right being too small. Everything is still subject to change and any and all feedback are still very much welcomed. Thank you!Read full article on Community Announcements (lactrailgames)Patch NotesOfficial
Mana Expel demo update v1.0.5
We're thankful for the feedback we received and we're working on adressing some of them. This game was always supposed to be tough to master but from what we've gathered we've overtuned the difficulty even if just a little, we've updated a few things to make them a little better and we will continue to make changes if they're necessary. Thank you for the few people that showed genuine interest in the game and believes in its potential- we know this game is rough around the edges but we believe in the game's potential more than ever after the kinds word some of you shared. We missed the timing to do an announcement post on the last update, in fact, you might have played the demo on the 1.0.4 version. We're sorry about that. Regardless, here's all the changes for both updates: 1.0.4- Changed Lucia's room to make her daggers have better contrast against background, this may be revisited. Changed barbed wires to have better contrast against the background. Fixed activation platforms being out of reach on second level. Made Grunt's (Green headband enemy) projectiles a little easier to dodge. Increased Grunt's projectiles's charge time, making it easier to stun them out of it. Removed AOE from Ghoul's (Sewer enemy) daggers and made them a little more manageable to dodge. Made aim with lock-on turned on a little more obvious- We'll continue to improve on this aspect. 1.0.5- Added "ghosts" on the tutorial that provide a visual demonstration of the currently activated tutorials. Increased the size of the arrows symbols in the kits menu and on the top-left of the screen. Some small level design updates and visual changes. Everything is still subject to change and any and all feedback are still very much welcomed. Thank you!Read full article on Community Announcements (lactrailgames)
