About this game
Race the skies to glory in Couch Planes, an airborne party game where the craftiest pilot wins. Tight flying meets over-the-top fun in this fast-paced joyride. Whether you’re dodging missiles with friends on the couch or gunning for the leaderboard glory online, you’ll feel the thrill of being an arcade stick jockey. Zip through hazard-filled maps, collecting race-changing power-ups, on your way towards the finish line.

Fly solo, squad up, or turn game night into a friendly competition to see who is master of the skies. Couch Planes supports local 4-player split-screen and up to 12 players online, with support for mixing local and online pilots. Take it casual or get sweaty and dominate with precision flying. Either way, it’s all systems go.
However you like to fly, there’s a mode to master.
Smash mid-air balloons to unleash game-changing power-ups: homing rockets, speed boosts, exploding mines, and more. Items are balanced by your position, so no one’s ever too far ahead–or safe.
Fly across 15 handcrafted maps full of environmental hazards and goodies, from tornadoes and collapsing cliffs to power-up windmills and treasure-hauling steam trains. Thread the needle to take a shortcut, but misjudge and you’ll be tasting your friend’s afterburners.
Simple, arcade controls make it easy to jump in, but there’s plenty of depth under the hood. Learn to barrel roll past missiles, drift through tight turns, or flip your way out of trouble like a skyborne stunt master.
Progress while you play to earn cosmetics, including skins, trails, decals, and effects. And none of it affects performance. There’s no pay-to-win nonsense here. Everyone competes on equal footing, but only the best look good doing it.
With seasonal events, rotating shop items, ranked ladders, and evolving content, Couch Planes is always cooking up something new. Whether you're in for a quick match or chasing your next unlock, there’s always a reason to jump back into the cockpit.

Flight Model Update & New UI Direction
## Couch Planes Dev Update — Flight Model Changes & New UI Direction ##Hi everyone!A lot has been happening behind the scenes, so we wanted to share a quick development update.During Playtest 2.1, some of you may have already noticed that Couch Planes feels noticeably different. That’s because we’ve been reworking the flight model quite heavily — partly based on your feedback, and partly based on our own ideas for where we want the overall game feel to go.So far, we’re happy with the direction. The game now feels faster, sharper, more responsive, and simply more fun to control. ## Flight Model Update ##Here’s what changed:✅ Twin-stick flight handling ✅ Thumbstick barrel rolls ✅ Faster acceleration ✅ Higher top speed ✅ Cleaner drifting ✅ Smoother collisions ✅ Quicker recovery after takedowns ✅ Better control during sharp turns ✅ Less clunky plane movement To better show the progress, we’ve prepared a direct comparison between the old and new flight model. You can check it below👇 The goal of these changes is simple: we want flying in Couch Planes to feel more dynamic, more readable, more aggressive, and more satisfying — without losing the chaotic couch multiplayer energy at the heart of the game. ## New UI Direction ##On top of the flight model changes, we’re also working on a new UI direction for Couch Planes. This includes updated menu screens and a cleaner overall presentation. It’s still work in progress, but it already makes the game feel much more complete. We’ve also attached a few images showing the progress, including a look at the new menu compared to the old placeholder version.OLD PLACEHOLDER MENU👎NEW CONCEPT MENU👍Thanks again to everyone who tested the game, shared feedback, wishlisted Couch Planes, or simply followed the project so far. We'll be back with more updates soon. Stay tuned! ✈️Read full article on Community Announcements (cycaldo)
