About this game

Stare down the vast abyss of the unkown until the abyss stares back at you, and the prolonged eye-contact is kind of awkward. Then do something about it! Like, not now, but very soon. Just one more good stare is not going to kill you.

Procrastinaut - This is Fine Update Now Live

Greetings, space-explorers. The Transgalactic Bloc for Bringing Back the Word "Cyber" has cyber-stolen our code and injected the following updates: Things are fine. It's fine You can now get onto the snack dispenser The coin minigame is now sort of skill-based. Sort of. Like, you still can have bad luck and end up with few coins. But the more coins you make, the more coins you get to potentially make. So if you get a little lucky, you'll make a ton of coins, but you can still pretend it was only hard work that got you there. Platforms now have a chance to contain goodies You can no longer operate the snack dispenser from high above or below it New snacks have been stocked Platforms no longer appear in unreachable places The beer tutorial no longer contains unhelpful prompts (I think) The menu colors have been slightly adjusted to make it more readable for people who have challenges in the eye or display departments, or both The cursor is now visible when the window is not active Alt+Enter (the Windows hotkey to put applications into fullscreen mode) will no longer trigger the use/menu select actions There is now a progress loss warning when you quit, although I don't know why you would quit Quitting now sends you back to the main menu The floating ship should no longer make you go, "What is this? Is this a space crab?" Finnegan is now 10% more rare. To appear, not cooked, you monster! Some effects have been slightly improved I would also like to say a word of thanks for all the positive reception since launch. We only have a few thousand players, but there's a lot of love and passion in the community hub. In this dopamine-post-apocalypse, it is humbling to think my small game could capture your attention and maybe inspiration. You are awesome! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44684731/ce418f54df6433574abeecb6f386df960a6f83b4.gif If you still hunger for more Procrastinaut, I am currently working on partnering up with some independent artists to bring you some fresh, affordable, et...

    Back from the MAG-C!

We had an awesome time at the MAG-C, collecting live player feedback, meeting other indie devs, handing out stickers and checking out awesome cosplays. While not everyone got it or enjoyed it, the feedback for Procrastinaut was amazing and very positive overall. Of all the people who stopped by to procrastinate some of the convention away, three players managed to grab all of the achievments. To enshrine both their gaming chops and their commitment to procrastination, they are, in order: 1. NightDogELITE 2. 0x7F and Pico Fox 3. WatchDaToast Congratulations, I hope to see you beat the next one! A big shoutout and thank you to my QA lead and booth support Bombentussi who really helped make the Procrastinaut booth a welcoming place. Of course we want to thank the sponsors of the BASF Indie World and the actually very lovely people from Dark Origin for putting this whole convention together and inviting us. If you're here, you probably like indie games, and all the other entries from the BASF Indie World are actually well worth checking out. So when you're done Procrastinating, have a look and see if you don't want to give them some love and support. Beat Slayer by Byterockers, in case you ever wondered why Hades and Crypt of the Necrodancer never had a baby, because now they have! Beyond the Edge of Owlsgard by WatchDaToast, which is a lovlingy crafted oldschool point&click adventure that will draw you into it's atmosphere in seconds Cleo by Greycap, an amazing genre defying puzzle adventure that will swash your buckles and shiver your timbers and warm your heart like a sip of grog Constance by Btf, which plays as well as it looks and will surely be remembered as a modern metroidvania milestone Lose CTRL by Play from Your Heart, which you should play if you love tilting in video games or yell at your friends in multiplayer (it's not just me, right?) Domekeeper by Bippinbits, who are apparently not going to stop making their indie game powerhouse even more awesome and a...

    Procrastinaut Out Now!

Greetings, slightly undermotivated space travellers. It's time to put off your deadlines and get properly stranded on some random gas giant. Today, just a bit late for the Steam Awards and just a bit early for the Next Fest, is release day. The Procrastinaut is excited to meet each and every one of you, especially if there's something else you should be doing instead. Additionally, Procrastinaut will be at the MAG-C in Erfurt, Germany, where you can play the game live and grab a free sticker. You can find us on the convention floor of Hall 2, Booth 2-304 on February 3-4, colloquially known as the Gaming Area. If you're a six year old, you even get in for free! Happy procrastinating, and may your 2024 make all your dreams come true! buk {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44684731/7e38bfe88572c1ddecb429516eb9a436dca36db7.gif{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44684731/d82f9be8a154f1adda3e0049233ae2cf55db6eeb.gif

Procrastinaut stranding in your Library on January 26!

Greetings, pale blue dot dwellers! Grab your Authentic Human Beer and take a seat, because there is news! Release type of news, which is objectively the best news. Procrastinaut will launch on January the 26th, 2024. (This date is subject to procrastination accidents) The game will be fully free to play. Meanwhile, you are free to wishlist, tell all your friends to wishlist, and make sure you have some time to absolutely waste away scheduled for Friday! While you're here, I would like to give a big shoutout to all the people who have supported me with encouragement and playtesting behind the scenes! It means the world to me, and we would not be here without you. I will leave you with the immortal words of the patron saint of catastrophic game releases and fellow space enjoyer, Sean Murray: "We set out to make you feel emotions that you'd maybe not felt in a game before, and that's it. And that is worth the cost of entry for me, that feeling of stepping through a sci-fi book cover and that you'd landed on one of those worlds, and you'd had a moment of awe. If we do that, I'm happy." Take space-care, buk
