About the Game

Unable to deal with the aftermath of what happened in her home town of Rzekiva, Amelia Morrison leaves for the city to try and pick up the pieces of what’s left.

The routine of every day life is comfortably numbing in its monotony, but no matter how much she tries to suppress them, the memories of that town always resurface. Despite the pain they cause, their persistence reveal that the events that transpired in Rzekiva may not have been what they seem.

As Amelia peels back the layers, the world around her starts to spiral and she alone stands in the middle of it all. Trust and truth become scarce commodities.

Butterfly//Circuit is set in the New European Federated Economic Territory (NEFET) in the grey city of Centropol. Surveillance, resource extraction and the policing of bodies are nothing if not the norm within the concrete grid, but Amelia has bigger things to worry about. Networks of conspiracy, hidden passages, and lost technoccultures permeate the the fabric of Centropol, and Morrison has to cut through the threads.

Crossing paths with faces both new and old, Amelia has to choose wisely who to trust, and who to keep at arms length.

From up and coming solo developer WireWARE with guidance from the MVU, Butterfly//Circuit is a cybergothic kinetic visual novel featuring a twisting drama laced with psychological horror inspired by the likes of Serial Experiments Lain, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, and the works of David Lynch.

Butterfly//Circuit creates a dark and tense reading experience supported by original art and an originally composed soundtrack featuring a variety of music ranging from pumping techno and chill trip-hop, to moody post-rock and atmospheric drones.

    Butterfly//Mirror is in development

New Game! The hit new game from yours truly has entered actual development! This project is still exceedingly early in development but after several years of throwing shit at a wall and none of it sticking, it has finally reached a point where it has begun to cohere enough for me to feel confident I can talk about it more officially. What is it? (Are you ruining B//C's ending?) This is NOT A SEQUEL!!!! At one point I considered a sequel but that story is done. HOWEVER, this will be a return to Amelia, Charlie, and Heather and exploring those characters further (among others). The simplest explanation is that it is a different take on the story that is also in conversation with the previous one. What is the Current Progress?Still extremely early, don't expect it any time soon. Butterfly//Circuit's original prologue was done for a college thesis and was built off of something I had already written and half the development time of the full was done during college and subsequent unemployment. For this project however I am afforded no such luxuries and my time and energy are a lot more limited working a full time job and whatnot. With that said, I am hoping that art assets will come along smoother as I am thoroughly switching the visual style to something that I think A) looks better and B) is easier to make -- working to my strengths. As for music, I know my music is so awesome and cool and everyone loves it but I may get some additional help from other talented producers I have had the pleasure of working with from Data Sparrow which will help reduce the workload. Why?I was simply drawn back to those three. At first I tried formulating a plan for something totally unrelated, something about ghosts as I had gotten into Wraith the Oblivion and Orpheus. Had some cool ideas but then that fell through. Didn't feel a proper narrative hook me.Later on I took some of the seeds from that and figured, hey, maybe I don't need the supernatural stuff as much as I would like to do someth...
