About this game

An ethereal, pulp spraying, contemplative stroll from one end of a city to the other.

As the little combat wizard Lumi, you'll use the "Arcana" to fight a geyser of cute, and clever spirit bunnies.

Combat in "The Girl Who Kicked a Rabbit" is designed as an easy-going experience, with a whole basket of meticulously crafted mechanics to fiddle around with.

Every element of the game is engineered to react in the fastest, most responsive way.

Selecting one of your astral weapons and obliterating a long-eared bugger, is an interface delight. The bunnies will hold "Catalysts", that you'll need in order to win.

Understanding which of these otherworldly baubles you need, and actually getting them before they disappear, will be half the battle.

No reason to get all tricked out before the next hand-to-hand: Every battle gives you a different collection of mystical "Arcana" to wield. Some of them are good to go, and others you have to unlock on the job.

Murdering doe-eyed bunny beasts isn't enough to win! Somehow, you'll need to get enough "Gods' Wine" to close the flaming portals that keep sending out more opponents.

Sometimes the rabbits will drop this celestial nectar, and sometimes a more economic approach is required.

If you've got a little chemist inside you somewhere, perhaps you'd prefer making your own divine kombucha.
Good thing every critter killed is a piñata of goo-covered treasure.

Bug fix for crash when completing game + graphical fix

Quick note. We were made aware that the game crashes at the exact moment you complete the game. That should be fixed now. Also, the final battle had some graphical issues with displaying correct animations. Fixed as well in the same update.

Just welcoming all the new players!

Hi all new players!I just wanna say it's wonderful to see so many of you giving the game a try. We really wanna hear all your feedback, good and back. So if you play for a few hours, please either leave a review, or a comment in the discussion board. Also, the instruction booklet tends to get overlooked. It's got some extra story bits, and maybe explains more weird mechanics in a way you'll find easier to understand? Maybe not.https://takunomi.space/documents/The%20Girl%20Who%20Kicked%20a%20Rabbit%20-%20Instruction%20Booklet.pdfMerry Christmas, everyone!Sketchwhale

    "... Through Time" Update!

Hi Kids! Do you like free updates? We're pretty stoked about this one. It's about adding new cool stuff, and trying to alleviate some of the difficulties people have had:RANDOMNESS MAKES THE GAME TOO DIFFICULT. This one we handled in the previous update:Instruction booklet direct link:https://takunomi.space/documents/The%20Girl%20Who%20Kicked%20a%20Rabbit%20-%20Instruction%20Booklet.pdfRANDOMNESS MAKES THE GAME TOO EASY. Now we get into the new stuff. Almost all world two levels get additional objectives to prevent you from winning through sheer dumb luck.We also made some fun new stuff!Added a new move that does good and bad things at the same time for World 4 (and a bit in world 3). This one is kinda stupid, but the level where you have to use it is fun.Added piercing null pyres to all world 2 levels and up. These are game changing! If you see a black puddle with a red tinge, it's one of these. The upcoming rabbit will spawn through the existing one, and you won't get the drops of existing one.Locks acquired now persist for the world they were found in and above, when you start over. This one is important actually, because why would you want to go back and retry old levels, if you lose all your progress?Poison now ends after 3 turns. Just seems like a completely fair nerf.Chief Bubbles now spread poison when they die from Volatile. Might not happen too often, but it's fun.Small UI changes in places you won't notice.

Instruction Booklet is here! And plans!

Hello everyone!I wanna discuss some thoughts about upgrades we're planning.Players have spoken about issues with the randomness of the game. On the one hand, they might win too fast, because just the right stuff became available, or fights drag on because they never get the drops they need. Now, I can't fundamentally change how the game works, but I can try to alleviate these two problems.Win too fast:I believe adding an extra goal to the Douse levels will fix this. This will be added in a future update, including other Goodies(TM)!Win too slow:This one is more tricky. From the feedback I've seen, it seems that players who experience battles dragging out, might also not quite understand the systems of enemies spawning and the ability to observe what upcoming enemies are holding. We COULD seriously expand the tutorial to really hammer home this concept. When we showed the game at game conventions, we had a tutorial like this. No one read the words, and it bored the hell out of people. So instead, we made an instruction booklet you can download freely from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_Yi2Sqm_7jM_StE3EksurCTAoK3SKdul/view?usp=sharingWe'll also include this in the game files directly later, and link to it from a more permanent location.FUTURE PLANSI want to add new content, but the structure of the game and narrative is such that there really isn't room for a lot more stuff. So what I'm planning, is add new content directly to the existing levels. I'm gonna add new enemies and mechanics in a future update, plus a structural change, such that Locks you've acquired, are kept permanently, even if you restart a world stage.

    "... And Another one!" Update

Surprise, Everyone! We have an update 🎉 Of course we were gonna continue fixing patches either way, but I realized, once a game is done, if you want to make extra content, that's just gravy, right? Who doesn't love gravy? We're adding a bonus level that requires you to find all the previous secrets. The new level has a new item (The Squirt Stone 💦 🪨), a new enemy (The Fanatic 🐰 🔥), new rabbit world lore (👩🏼🐇🪱), and is just bonkers full of mechanics. It definitely takes some effort to access, and is a bit of an ordeal to beat, so if you love these puzzle battles like we do, we think you're gonna have a real fun time. Have fun!
