About this game
MULTIPLAYER SUPPORT
Currently, we have a story mode that is both single-player and Co-op as well as a VS mode. Jump into a random and survive for as long as you can in our arcade mode, or jump into the story in our VS mode and try to survive against your friends. Careful though, as you are not the only ones here and they can hear your movements.
VR SUPPORT
NOTE VR support is unfinished and may be unstable causing game crashes or other problems within your game. We are working hard to fix this soon. With VR support you can see the entities as if they are life-sized, you can feel the fear as if it's real, and you can scare your friends for all eternity as there isn't a known ending to the backrooms. Tons of fun for those stingy friend groups. Been tearing friends apart since day 1 not responsible for loss of friendships
ENDLESS LEVELS
With each level are multiple exits that lead you away from reality(or closer if you're lucky). Will you risk it all? Or will you stay in the safe zones for as long as you can? careful. Nobody knows if those zones are really "safe" :)
ENTITIES
With so many entities, some you may encounter and not know they are in the game. Not all entities are playable. But all playable entities are active. Each entity is unique in its own way with special abilities that it has gained based on its habitat. Remember, if you can go between levels. So can they.

ALPHA 1.0 IS OUT!
Backrooms Versus - Alpha 1.0 Is Live Backrooms Versus has officially moved from the old UE5 prototype into a new Unity build. This is the first playable Alpha 1.0 test, which means the core game loop is finally online, but this is still very much an unfinished alpha. Expect placeholder visuals, rough balance, missing animations, bugs, and systems that will keep changing. Major Rebuild Rebuilt the project in Unity 6000 with URP. Moved multiplayer to Netcode for GameObjects with Steam P2P support. Added Steam hosting, joining, lobby invites, and lobby ID joining. Added a new 3D main menu scene with music, options, tutorial access, and host/join flow. Playable Multiplayer Loop Players can host and join live Steam sessions. Players can choose Wanderer or Entity roles before spawning. Late joiners are handled separately so active matches are not broken. Steam names are now used for player join/leave and lobby UI where possible. Basic chat has been added. Level 0 Added a procedural Level 0 map generator. Generated walls, ceilings, carpet, lights, props, loot boxes, lockers, terminals, spawn points, and Threshold locations. Lighting now supports flicker, darker zones, and Smiler-related blackout behavior. Map generation is server-seeded so clients should share the same layout. Wanderer Gameplay Added the first Wanderer kit: Faith. Inventory supports 8 slots, number-key selection, mouse wheel selection, right-click item use, and item dropping. Items can now appear in loot boxes and as dropped world items. Dropped items use physics and can be picked back up after rolling or falling. Crouching reduces noise and now changes camera height. Stamina has been reduced to the intended alpha balance instead of the old oversized test value. Items Added Flashlight with battery behavior. Extra Batteries to recharge the flashlight. Almond Water, Medical Bag, Sanity Pills, and Antibiotics. Lock Pick for instant loot box opening. Orphan Shoe and Dead Man's Wallet throwable utility items.
