About this game

The classic Indian game Carrom is now available to play in Carrom Slam!

Carrom, to those unfamiliar with the game, is most similar to 8-ball billiards. Players take turns shooting the striker from their baseline attempting to pocket coins the corners of the board. The red piece, or queen, must be pocketed and covered before the game ends, and is worth a high value of points. The round ends when one team sinks all of their pieces!

  • 4+ player matches (browser, steam friends, and/or bots)

  • 7 game modes (professional, points, disc pool, blitz, sandbox, bowling, and training)

  • Customizable rules, point values, board dimensions, and striker designs

  • Interactive tutorial

v3 Carrom Slam! releases Nov. 1st

Hello slammers! v3 (previously discussed as v2.5 in communications) is right around the corner from release! This was always a significant update, but upon reflecting on everything included, it was quite the jump from the previous version and earned the version three demarcation. So, while we are combing over the final build for bugs and other notes, lets give you something to look forward to!I am so happy with the direction that EVERYTHING is going. I love the new Slam! I think we upgraded all of the features from the last version, like literally all of them. Obviously we had previously talked about the menu changes, which allowed us to add better management of customization, rules, server, files, players, and settings. The UI is just so much more useful and intuitive. This UI update also poises us nicely for some other features we'll see in the next upcoming update. For those wondering about the regular communications, we appreciate you. The communications schedule just did not align with how things work over at Dinahsoft. Instead, we plan to release posts like this leading up to the next release. This way, you know something is actively on the way soon when you see a post from us. The other development posts and pictures of Slam! can be found in the discord moving forward, which will be more impromptu. Maybe you'll even participate in the beta to give us feedback on issues before it hits everyone else? We've also made tweaks to physics, lighting, aiming, power, and more! It will be a serious challenge to put it all into a changelog. You'll get to read and experience every detail when the update comes out on November 1st. Until then, maybe checkout the revamped store page?

    Communication 05 - Breaks & Bowling

Communication 05 - Breaks & Bowling Hello carrom fans, We're hard at work putting together the Carrom Slam! v2.5 update. The new UI is about fully functional, which means multiplayer and bug testing will begin soon. Let's talk about some of the things making into the next update. First, different styles of piece breaks are available, a community recommendation (thanks!). It has never been more clear that carrom and other similar games have unique differences down to the household. When exploring the world of carrom, we found that we could have quite a wide variety of break setups, and moved to make them potentially customizable. Like all of the mod types in our update, it's possible to edit a file to create your own. We'll also include a bunch of our own and from around the world, so be prepared for some extra variety each round! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44182583/c95551a3f842493f728b98f411f4ab9b496897a3.png{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44182583/fe6b9faa4184ba8a01e0c93f6f9f57c11bfb1390.png{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44182583/aa065499a8f5604f5be92ed8a527551f8a49b1af.png{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44182583/0d9b5cf3ef183c29837f37f7564e9313bfe9418d.png{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44182583/f5179536da06b45e85c547a2bddb095b95e743fb.png Another goal of ours was to improve the translations of the game. We've worked to implement a method that allows community members to contribute too. It was an important part of our initial mission to create something widely accessible to all carrom fans. To do so, we wanted to have at the very least, familiar language presented to those who weren't familiar with english. It's obvious now, through feedback, that the provided translations are not adequate or polished. We plan to introduce better official translations for some select languages as well as introduce community sourced translations regularly in the future. More information on how to participate can be found in our discord. We're also introducing a new game mode coming out with the next update... Bowling!? This game mode featu...
