Embark on a perilous journey through Devil Reef in Cthulhu's Reach, a thrilling action-adventure game where four players must navigate the ruins while battling their own sanity.

About this game

The year is 1923. You Owe a Gangster More Than You Can Pay
A tip-off points you toward the cursed seaside town of Innsmouth — and the sunken labyrinth known as Devil Reef. Treasure lies in its depths. So do things that have never been seen by sane eyes. With your crew of desperate fortune-hunters at your side, you descend. Whether you return, and whether you remain yourself if you do, is a different matter entirely.

Descend with Friends. Lose Your Minds Together
Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef is built for 1 to 4 players. The horror is survivable alone. With a crew, it becomes an experience — the moments when a friend’s sanity breaks, when the dungeon shifts, when a run that seemed impossible suddenly clicks. Online co-op with full dungeon scaling ensures that whether you play solo or with three companions, every descent is a fresh reckoning.

No Two Descents Are the Same
Procedurally generated labyrinths mean Devil Reef never plays the same way twice. Each run is shaped by over 100 collectible items across four rarity tiers, a deep weapon unlock and upgrade system, and enemy encounters built around status effects — bleeding, burning, slowed, panicked. Three acts of escalating horror await in the full release, alongside a Daily Challenge mode with a globally seeded dungeon so you can compete against every other delver in the world.

Your Descent Into Madness Writes the Trials
Lose enough sanity and your mind starts fighting back against you. Cross a threshold, and it conjures curses you must face on the next level; enemies grow vicious, rules turn cruel. Pick one. No skipping, no rerolling.
Survive it, and you keep a permanent reward for your trouble. But every curse taken narrows your next choice. Stay sane, and you may only ever face one. Fall all the way into Madness, and there's no choice left at all…

Key features
  • 1-4 Player Online Co-op — Face the horrors of Devil Reef alone or with up to three companions. Online co-op with dungeon scaling built for any crew size.
  • The Sanity System — Incantations are offers from the Great Old Ones, power in exchange for a piece of your mind. Lose enough sanity and your own descent starts writing curses into the run, trials you must survive to earn what's left.
  • Lovecraftian 1920s Setting — Innsmouth. Devil Reef. Eldritch creatures, corrupted labyrinths, and a world where the deep ocean holds secrets older than human civilization.
  • Roguelite Depth — 100+ collectible items across four rarity tiers, procedurally generated dungeons, weapon unlocks, and an enemy system built around dynamic status effects.
  • Daily Challenge Mode — Every day, a new globally seeded dungeon. Compare your run against players worldwide. The reef never rests.
  • Atmospheric Action Combat — Twin-stick isometric combat against eldritch horrors. Enemies bleed, burn, slow, and panic. No fight is routine once the sanity curses stack.
  • Custom Map Editor — Create your own maps and throw your friends into the abyss

    Patch Update - 1.0.7

Hey survivors, This patch turns down the camera queasiness for good, cleans up some overdue Sunken Field and item naming, and knocks out a good pile of multiplayer stability issues. Full rundown below. Gameplay & Balance Added Camera Comfort settings: a noise slider to tone down the gameplay camera's wobble, and a rotation lock for anyone who wants the view held dead still. (Community Shoutout: FatalExodusX) {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44328413/1a3f235e4c6d8205756786c086ef0b6d5d3cdd69.gif Sunken Field incantations and items now run on percentage-based stats, with several other Sunken Field items adjusted to match. Renamed for clarity: Crit Damage Factor is now Crit Damage, and Life Steal Trigger Chance is now Life Steal Chance. Adjusted Life Steal Chance across several items, with related buffs added elsewhere. Ashmaker's flame trails now burn out faster instead of lingering into later levels. (Community Shoutout: GoodOlRusty) Bosses no longer grow in size when struck by Enlarge, fixing an issue where Mother Hydra could get stuck and stop engaging. (Community Shoutout: Sharkinbear) Sealed off a gap that let enemies and players slip through walls and geometry that should have blocked them. (Community Shoutout: GoodOlRusty) Adjusted encounter trigger zones so they can no longer be skirted around, and patched a hole in Mother Hydra's hallway. The Eldritch Incantations are hiding a little more forbidden knowledge of their own now, until you've earned the right to see it. UI & Incantations Fixed Eldritch Incantations not being marked as discovered when chosen, and fixed the discovery counter on the source card not updating. Added localization for Dice Curse names and descriptions. Fixed a missing translation on Sunken Field's stat display in the journal. (Community Shoutout: MrWhitefolks) Fixed an oversized font on the Main Menu's opt-in back button. The book can now be closed with tap or select while it's open. Added a safeguard against rapidly spamming the book UI, which could ...

    Patch Update - 1.0.6

Hey survivors, Before we get to the fixes, a quick word on version numbers, because we know the last few updates looked odd. Our recent hotfixes were tagged 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5. Those numbers were a mistake. They should have carried the same 1.0.x pattern as this release, so 1.5 should have read 1.0.5, 1.4 should have read 1.0.4, and so on. Nothing about the versioning skipped content or changed what shipped, it was purely a labeling slip on our end, but we know it made the update history confusing to follow. Sorry for the noise. From here on out, hotfixes will follow proper 1.0.x numbering, which brings us to today's patch: 1.0.6. Now, on to what actually changed. Stability Fixed an error in the input system that could occur when equipping a weapon while in the Hut. Guarded the Statistics Manager against a null reference error during run transitions. Fixed an occasional null reference error on clients when counting collected Dagonites. Fixed a rare issue where a lingering loading screen state could leave the game stuck on a black screen. Gameplay & Balance Tide Priest's Dagger and Ritual Bone of Striking have received fixes to their behavior. Anglerfish Eye is now easier to build toward its damage cap. Glass Cannon and Condemned now correctly return health based on how much was taken. (Community Shoutout: GoodOlRusty) Minor Bleed's stacking logic has been corrected. It no longer stacks when it shouldn't. Fixed an issue with an upgradable stat that could throw an error and prevent certain items from being picked up. (Community Shoutout: MrWhitefolks) Fixed issue with Rifle discarding attack context modifications. (Community Shoutout: GoodOlRusty) UI & Incantations Fixed an initialization issue with Incantation Buttons following a state handling refactor. Fixed the Eldritch Incantation Button showing the wrong sprite on the Diary holdings page. Fixed a missing badge object on the Incantation prefab so it now displays as intended. Added tooltip connections to incan...
