Hello, everyone! It's been a minute, hasn't it? Development on Act 2 is proceeding nicely!I'm happy to announce Carter's Quest is now permanently $5 cheaper! From $14.99 USD to $9.99 USD. I'm hoping that this gives more people the opportunity to take a chance on Carter's Quest, especially with Act 2 on the way.Let's take a look at what I've been working on, while hopefully keeping spoilers to a minimum!First of all, Carter's got a new look! Stronger, more evocative, with better shape language and asset quality. Personally, I love it!Who could that be? Kelly Ai, in the flesh? Taking quite the bruising. Some new visual effects are on hand in my creative toolkit, powering some really evocative scenes.Carter has a new power, one of the many new abilities in Act 2.A new friend!A spying eye...And that's it for today's update! Wouldn't wanna spoil the fun.Act 2 is planned for release sometime in May... However, I don't want to give a hard date to avoid crunching too hard. Testing is already in progress, and there's a good bit remaining to be completed. I'm very excited for you all to see where the twists and turns are heading here in the world of Web.Good day, everyone!Read full article on Community Announcements (homuncudev)Patch NotesOfficial

Act 1's Final Update
Hello, everybody! Happy Autumn sale!I've endeavored to leave Act 1 in a good spot while I finish working on Act 2. Progress is going good! I expect it out early next year.I packed this update full of a few explosive changes, as well as many smaller fixes and polish improvements. The headlining feature is High Refresh Rate support, allowing Carter's Quest to run seamlessly at 90hz, 120hz, 144hz, and whatever else your twisted monitor can display. This required reworking significant chunks of the physics code and was no small undertaking. I can confirm, having played the game all the way through at 144hz, that it feels amazing! Also landing in this update are a few smaller changes, fixes, and improvements. Let's crack on with it!ChangelogHigh refresh rate supportNew Yooba patterns and palettes*New song and sounds for the Homunculus EditorYou can now pan Yooba in the Homunculus EditorChanges to the settings menuImprovements to the game's playability on Steam DeckFixed the infamous bug that resulted in Carter being unable to use his weapons until he jumped or dodgedAdded button prompts to many interface pagesMade the Shard Bag usable with only a mouseImproved the Shard Bag's usabilityFreed the camera while riding the broomFixed the bow's aim reticle when aiming at the skyFixed a teleport after fighting OgniFixed visual bugs introduced during Act 2's development that were mistakenly pushed to Act 1Made button prompts reflect your control scheme in the main menuFixed some guards being unable to be talked to (No idea how that one happened!)Fixed sound volume in some cutscenes being too high*New patterns require a new save game to be accessedThank you all for your continued interest in Carter's Quest! Expect another Act 2 status report before the end of the year. I assure you it will be worth the wait.- GobaRead full article on Community Announcements (homuncudev)Patch NotesOfficial
