About the Game

Brave New Wonders is a factory automation and base-building simulation set in a post-apocalyptic far future. Build sprawling production lines, optimize every system, and command intelligent robots that follow the commands you write in plain language. Part factory builder, part city builder rising from the ruins, it puts a civilization's revival in your hands. No conveyor belts and no coding: it’s just you and your army of automatons.

Mine ore and crystal, smelt them into refined materials, and craft increasingly complex components along branching production lines, all powered by an expanding energy network. One factory is never enough: link factories, warehouses, and logistics routes, then optimize throughput and sharpen your resource management. Unlock blueprints to copy, paste, and mass-duplicate whole layouts in seconds, and cloned automatons keep their tasks, so expansion stays fast.

Intelligent automatons move materials by following your commands. Start with simple presets, then program your robots in plain language, any language, with no coding required. The behaviour editor guides you as you write: tell an automaton to 'move between A, B, and C in order,' or set conditional logic like "When RED signal is detected at warehouse, pick up crystal compound from general factory and deposit it at warehouse."

Buildings and factories broadcast coloured signals and react to each other so that you can wire programmable systems across your whole base. If you can describe it, odds are your automatons can pull it off.

Civilization fell thousands of years ago, and the new era remembers nothing. As a Pioneer, explore the atmospheric ruins of the old world, some still guarded by hostile machines. Battle is inevitable: strategically place your gun turrets, clear barriers with dynamite, and claim a weapon relic to fight back against threats. Gather relics that shape your world and uncover a story-rich mystery: what truly happened to humanity?

Unlock the ancient Sky Pillar and build your first Wonder: a massive airship that doubles as an airborne fleet of factories. Travel between distinct islands and continents, each with its own biomes, resources, and breakthroughs, from the snowy reaches of Europe to an ancient humanoid robot that still remembers the old world. Your base flies with you, so exploration never stops.

  • Command automatons that obey plain-language commands. No conveyor belts, no coding.

  • Build, automate, and optimize vast factories across an open world.

  • Gather resources, craft components, and manage sprawling production and logistics networks.

  • Explore a post-apocalyptic, story-rich world and uncover the mystery of humanity's fall..

  • Travel between islands and continents aboard your airship, an airborne fleet of factories.

  • A single-player, atmospheric 3D factory automation simulation, shaped hand-in-hand with its community.

No illustrations, 3D models, textures, animations, sound effects, music, voice performance, or story in Brave New Wonders were generated by AI. We do not condone the use of generative AI that denies artists fair compensation or diminishes the meaning of their work.

The game’s text-based command system runs through an AI model whose only purpose is to parse your plain text commands in any language to generate a behaviour graph. However, if you prefer not to use the command system, you can bypass this feature by manually piecing together the graph instead.

    Playtest Update: Asia and Africa!

Hello, Pioneers!A new Brave New Wonders playtest update is here! This update brings UI improvements, smarter automaton behaviour, new Africa content, and the first playable version of a brand-new continent: Asia!🌋 New Continent: AsiaActive volcanoes. Continuous eruptions. Lava flows that destroy automatons in seconds.Asia's industrial legacy has scattered scraps all over the continents. You can mine them and then use recyclers to break them down into high-tier products. Standard logistics routes get cut off by lava flows. You will need to design a responsive signal system to warn the automatons and let them know when to retreat to safety. On the other hand, unpredictable eruptions provide a huge amount of energy, and how to make good use of it is worth planning.🌱 Africa UpdatesAfrica is the most agriculturally productive continent in the game: rich in fertile soil, warm climate and open terrain. It is the natural location for large industrial capacity based on alternative materials such as sand and water and crop production. The challenge is spoilage: agricultural goods produced in Africa have a time-to-spoil half life. A greenhouse generating crops that no automaton collects in time produces nothing but waste. A warehouse that overflows with perishables must not be left unattended. Africa rewards tight logistics timing over raw throughput. The greenhouse automation challenges in Africa involve some of the most interesting signal design in the game. Temperature signals, moisture signals can both emit distinct colors. Writing automaton commands that respond to multiple changing environmental signals simultaneously, while keeping delivery cycles tight enough to prevent spoilage, produces a logistics problem that feels genuinely different from anything on the other islands.🤖 Behaviour Generator ImprovementsThe behaviour generator is now more responsive to signal changes, helping automatons react more reliably as your factory grows more complex.💬 Share Your FeedbackThank...

Next Fest Is Over: Here Is What You Told Us and Where We Go From Here

Hello Pioneers,Steam Next Fest wrapped on June 22nd and we have spent the last few days going through everything: every feedback submission, every review, every bug report, every comment thread, every stream, and more.First, and without any performance behind it: thank you. To everyone who downloaded the demo, played it, filed feedback, wrote a review, wishlisted, or shared the game with someone who had not seen it yet. This community is why we are still making games, and it is the reason Brave New Wonders will be better than it would have been if we had built it in isolation. By the Numbers…Over 6,274 of you downloaded the demoThanks to those of you who played the demo, Brave New Wonders was in the Top 8 games under “Automation” during Next Fest!Over 5,000 of you wishlisted the game26 positive reviews were shared with us, with only a handful of constructive ones that we took note of for future improvementsTens of thousands of you watched our fan-favourite creator streams and YouTube review videosThe numbers matter less than what they represent: the time people chose to spend with the game.Moments from the Community Worth HighlightingThis section is for the genuinely good things that came out of Next Fest: how the game’s art reminded someone of a core memory, a factory layout that made our engineers stop and look twice (check out JDPlays’ finely tuned factory below), and pioneers who told us they genuinely enjoyed the game, even if it wasn’t a genre they’ve played before. Here are some of the wonderful things you shared with us:I’ve never really played factory automation games before, but this demo was a lot of fun. I think this finally made me understand the appeal of the genre with building out systems and constantly finding ways to optimize my setup which was surprisingly satisfying. At the same time, the exploration kept things interesting and prevented it from JUST feeling like I was playing a factory sim. I also really liked steampunk aesthetic. Really solid de...

Mid-Next Fest Dev Update and a Deep Dive on the Wonders

We’re five days into Steam Next Fest, Pioneers! What you’re Sharing with UsWe have been reading the feedback, watching the streams, and tracking the discussions from everyone around the world. We read every bug report and feedback submission, so don’t forget to share your thoughts with us, and consider leaving a review over on the Brave New Wonders demo page. The feedback button is in the game and the survey is in the main menu. If you have been playing and have not filed anything yet, now is a good time. Your input is actively informing what we are building, and we appreciate your comments! Here are just some of our favourite highlights we’ve gotten from you so far:Really solid demo overall, surprisingly satisfying especially for a first timer in the genre.Definitely recommend if you love strategy and factory builders like Factorio, etc! I can see it being very addictive once you really get going on building stuff.I've played this game for 10 hours, and over that time, it's constantly surprised me. There's multiple continents to explore (several different maps), each with unique secrets hiding in them that can affect your gameplay. The automation feature is also something I've never seen in any other game with how extensive it is.I really like the system, the vibe coding is very very very fun and approachable for someone who is not good at coding.Insanely fun. an actually unique twist on the genre that's innovative and refreshing. And our true favourite… Damn that's a lot of spaghetti. Deep Dive: The Wonders, and Why No Two Runs Play the Same With only a few days left, we want to provide you with a deep dive into Wonders, what they actually are, and why they matter. A Wonder is a megastructure, roughly the size of a city district. It is also a fully operational automated facility that you build, supply, and maintain. Most factory games have win conditions that are essentially score thresholds: build enough of something and you have won. Wonders work differently, compl...

Steam Next Fest is Here! Demo is Live + Streamer Schedule

Automate. Build. Optimize. Explore. Rebuild. The Brave New Wonders demo is live now as part of Steam Next Fest from June 15 to 22! Download it free, and play as long as you want during the festival - your save carries over to the full release on launch. Here Is Everything You Need to Know Before You StartThis is not a tutorial-only build. The demo is a complete slice of the game through the early game loop. Here is what you will find… 🗺️ The Americas islandYou begin on the Americas island, the most accessible biome in the Archipelago, with balanced resources and navigable terrain. The Americas is the former site of the old world's Ark project and the layered terrain shows it: broken bridges, flooded infrastructure, the debris of a civilization that vanished mid-motion, slowly reclaimed over centuries. There is no hand-holding zone followed by a hard wall - the island is designed to teach you the systems without restricting what you build and you can start optimizing your logistics from the first automaton you deploy. ⚙️ The full text command and behaviour editorAll command complexity available in the full game is available from the first minute of the demo. You can write simple single-step commands from day one and later evolve to signal-responsive logic chains after unlocking certain tech tree progress. The behaviour editor is fully accessible - you can read and modify any generated logic graph at any point. If you have not read our deep-dive on how the command system works, the in-game tutorial covers the fundamentals. The fastest way to learn the system is to write something yourself, watch what it generates, and adjust from there.🏺 The ruins and your first relicThe Americas island has several ruins accessible within the demo: some are empty, but some are guarded by old-world machines. Many of them contain relics.Every time you bring relics back to your home base (the train station), you can develop new technologies that can help you unlock new factories or automa...
