BoxR tests your reflexes and strategy as you navigate increasingly complex box layouts. Choose between classic play, roguelike unpredictability, or speedrun precision—each level adds another box, pushing you closer to the brink.
About this game
BoxR is a precision stomp game. Land on top of boxes. Get clipped by a side and you are done.
This is a full remake of the original. Same nasty loop, new look, and a lot more to unlock. Out of Early Access as of August 29, 2026.
Classic: one run, boxes keep stacking. Unlock hats, box skins, and biomes as you stomp.
Roguelike: waves, upgrades, and a pile of bad decisions. Hoard powerups and see if you still remember how to jump.
Speedrun Classic: 99 boxes at once, a wall-clock timer, and a best time only on a full clear. A death never counts as a record.
Speedrun Roguelite: five start-only drafts, then the same 99-box race and best-time rules.
New best times and new Classic or Roguelike high scores get Share and Copy, one clean line such as BoxR Speedrun Classic 1:23.45.
Controller support, Steam Cloud saves, Windows and Mac, and 28 achievements if you want to get weird about it.
Hint: do not camp the spawn. The box that kills you is usually the one you did not look at.

BoxR is out of Early Access. 1.0 is live as of August 29, and the current build is 2.1.0.Classic is still the stacking run, Roguelike is still waves and drafts, and Speedrun is new. BoxR update, boards, hats, and a pile of fixes
Steam Deck: set the compatibility tool to Proton Experimental, and use the dpad on menus, the joystick is inverted right now. Achievements actually talk to Steam now, so the ones you already earned should pop. Roguelike extra life and seismic work like they should, and there are a few new upgrades. Leaderboards for highest Classic level and overall score are in the game. Steam Deck: set the compatibility tool to Proton Experimental, and use the dpad on menus, the joystick is inverted right now.Achievements were unlocking in game and not talking to Steam. BoxR 2.0 — full remake + Roguelike
I ripped BoxR out of Unreal and rebuilt the whole game.Classic is still the same mean loop. Stomp boxes, every level adds another one, you get greedy, you die. Roguelike is new. Waves, upgrades, and I legit watched myself hoard ten powerups and still eat a box I saw coming.Hats, skins, five biomes, controller, cloud save, 28 achievements if you want to be a nerd about it.
