About this game
It was a deliberate choice, and yet here we are. Why?
With the [][][][][][][][][][]'s motivations a mystery, there may not be a correct choice. The overseers will bar your path. Should you fail, the world will not remember your attempt.
That alone is not enough to deter you, yet who knows what lurks in the Abyss. How far are you willing to go?
What you will encounter:
- 100s of strange machines in a strange world, with questionable purpose.
- A gateway of self-discovery, mystery, and p̵̨̈́ä̴̤͙͝i̴̢̼͊͠n̷̥̭̓̈f̵̩̻́̽ŭ̶̹͖͛l̴̮̆ ̷̺̼̉[̷͋͜ͅ]̶̧̃̔͜[̷̗̈́̓]̸̼͙̒͂[̵̨̍̀]̴͔͛[̵̛̗̹͌]̵̣̞̑͘[̴̞̟̑]̶̺͑[̴̭͍́͝]̶̨͆[̶̤͗͐]̸̠͓̄̔[̵̩͐̍]̶̳̘̄.̴̞̈́

- Multiple paths to take, with Endings and Dead Ends alike.
- 1 True Path to a bunny-girl's heart.

A New Game + Status of Nullschwert
Hope you're doing well. Rotschwert, a horizontal spinoff of Nullschwert, is Coming Soon to Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3443430/Rotschwert Red Blade in hand, the Blue Rabbit begins her hazy crusade. It is a horizontal bullet-hell slashing game which is neither a prequel nor sequel to Nullschwert - a sidequel? - that lets you take control over one of the same long-eared beings that you encounter in Null. Or maybe they're different? Not confusing at all... Either way, it is more of its own, shorter thing. Visiting Rotschwert first may give you an advantage in Nullschwert, or it may raise even more questions. Trust your instincts, and I hope you enjoy your visit. What about Nullschwert? Still in development. Unfortunately, progress during the entire trainwreck that was 2024 has been very slow, with one incident in particular sapping a lot of my energy. Slowly recovering, there are still a few roadblocks that prevent me from working any faster (though Rotschwert's co-development has been very helpful at breaking through some of them) The release date has been changed to show "Coming Soon". Putting up a very tight release date was a rookie mistake in the first place, hugely overestimating my solo capabilities and not taking some important aspects like mental health into account. There will no longer be any kind of approximation until the game is at least 99% ready. I apologize to everyone who were hyped for 2024 release, and while a new game is not enough to make up for it, hopefully it will make the wait more bearable. See you all in 2025, then. Cheers, - ːxaruːRead full article on Community Announcements (Aru)AnnouncementsOfficial
"Significant Feature" Removed (+ Some Changes)
It has come to my attention that on 2024/04/01, an update to Nullschwert Demo has been released. The update, among other things, contained a "Significant Feature" aka "Honk Button". As this was done without my supervision and permission - the culprit has been found and punished accordingly. The threat of "honking" has been stopped, for now. I have released an update which aims to remove that feature and fix the consequences of granting our Visitors such an insane power. Unfortunately, as my influence within the Abyss and over the affected realm is still limited, I wasn't able to fix everything, and you may find it quite different than it were half a year ago. The main change is, of course: "Honk" button has been removed. WARNING: to ensure this, do not hold Skip button (V/Y by default) for longer than 8 seconds. The timer/consequences may vary depending on which stage you are. Do not take unnecessary risks. In addition, some of the observed changes (mind the spoilers): Splash screens added (press any key to skip them) Main Menu labels changed Improved performance overall thanks to various engine updates St1 Boss - Phase 1 slightly rebalanced (a little more during EotL Route), sword shots are less random St2 Boss - reduced HP during her "Named" phases St1 and St2 - certain unnaturally colored entities HP reduced Password screen - condition to trigger it has been changed hold C(X) during the intro of St1 St3 - replaced some bullet sprites and adjusted the boss VFX Dialogue adjustments overall (ongoing change) Other smaller fixes/improvements/adjustments. Please report any anomalies. Work on the full game still continues. The Demo will not receive any big new content, but will be updated at a later date (which may have something to do with fests) including polish/balancing/story adjustments as we get closer to release. https://clan.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/images/44305321/292f00a6b5b02915a89bb024e71bd51017dbe987.png I apologize for the silence - very little of my wor...Read full article on Community Announcements (Who Aru)Patch NotesOfficial
Demo Update - Significant Feature Added
Hey, it's your friendly neighborhood Aru. Have you ever thought to yourself while playing a shooting game - "This game is great but all I can do is shoot, dodge, bomb, hyper... If I'm controlling a ship/cute anime girl there has to be more stuff I can do. Something that every vehicle in a game should have. Something loud and clear." In fact, there is not a single shooting game with a feature like that. You can find it in racing games, simulators, some sandboxes, but never in a shooting game. Such ruthless discrimination! But it ends today. The Nullschwert Demo has been updated with one significant feature that, once the long awaited fool release graces us, will certainly ascend the game over its direct competitors. Here is the list of all changes: Added a Honk button.Read full article on Community Announcements (Who Aru)AnnouncementsOfficial
Nullschwert Demo is Out Now!
The Demo is finally out - you may download it from the game page. Let the Abyss take you. Allow its deepest secrets to permeate through your entire being. Let it you. A single visit should take about 30 minutes, with 2-3 hours of content depending on how thorough you are. Remember that It is only a small taste of what's to come. And do not sweat over consequences, for the realm will remember none of it. How far are you willing to go?Read full article on Community Announcements (Alsame)
