About this game

Mighty Crustacean heroes are embarking on a raid to pillage the coast for all things shiny. Driven by Greed, they are easily carried away and can be outsmarted by their foes. That's why they need you to be their strategist, help them navigate tricky combat situations and overwhelm their enemies!
Position your heroes carefully and guide them through increasingly hostile environments, while they witlessly deliver a beating to anything that gets close!

Choose between tons of upgrades that turn your crabs into powerful specialized combat units: whether you need a sturdy tank to hold the line, a cunning healer to mend your squad's wounds, a mighty fighter to beat things hard, or a bizarre hybrid capable of everything! Each new level offers you to further customize your crabs and every victory rewards you with artifacts from the days of old.
It's up to you to experiment and find game-breaking combinations - Crabs would trust your judgment!

Elusive Elemental Spirits are watching tirelessly over the coast, each having their own domain - from the Ocean depths to the searing Sun in the sky. Greed is also one of them, driving all living beings - including your brave squad! - to hoard shiny treasure.
Elements favor the bold, and are willing to help your cause. Attune your crustacean heroes to wield their power and gain the upper hand against your foes!

The Elements are strong each on their own, but, as your squad, they are stronger together! Attuning your Crabs to different Elements gives you access to powerful Elemental Reactions, that diversify your arsenal even further and let you choose your own combat style!

Ambitious Update
Greetings, Raid Leaders! It sure has been a while! The development might've been slow, because life happened and all that, but now I'm back, stronger than ever - and so are the crabs! This update is Ambitious in many ways. It removes a number of old things that did not click, adds a whole new layer to the game and leans much heavier into the "MMO raid" thematic. It brings the game much closer to its original idea, while refining everything that's been implemented so far.So - what changed?Improved Controls and Tactical PauseStarting from the basics - the control scheme has been updated greatly, making it MUCH more forgiving than it used to be. Clicking anywhere on the screen will now select the nearest crab, so missing clicks would be literally impossible. The Pause / Details menu has also received a facelift, and is now functioning as a full-on Tactical Pause, with the ability to control crabs during the pause, setting targets for them.Treasure Bag, Updated Rewards & Reworked ProgressionOne of the biggest changes in this update was related to how crabs level up. A lot of choices Raid Leaders made when it came to rewards were drowned by the amount of stats crabs got from levelling, and it was quite hard to balance encounters' challenge.Additionally, there was that "Loot Share" which was confusing everyone while solving the issue that should't have existed in the first place. So - Loot share is gone, level ups are gone too. Crabs no longer get additional stats from levelling, but instead they "Find" trinkets and put them in a Treasure Bag - a new reward distribution system. Instead of per-crab choice on each level up, you would now open the Treasure bag, review found items and choose, which crab would receive them. It also plays nicely into the "MMO raid" thematic, giving you the control over distribution of the spoils of the raid. The UI for the reward distribution was also updated to have similar control elements on all of them - hopefully, making it more clear how they...Read full article on Community Announcements (Ex Tenebris Studio)Patch NotesOfficial
Friendly Update
Greetings, Raid Leaders! This update is friendly. Not friendly enough to dub it "welcoming" - but hey, it's less hostile than the others! As Steam's Endless Replayability Fest kicks off, let's get into what's new! ːsteamthumbsupː Improved Game Start UI and Hints If you've been sticking around for a while - well, you probably don't need all that. But new players still do! Your suffering haven't been in vain, because it would be easier for people to get into the game and actually understand what's happening. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43947105/e898f3bebf4f5c0b43ab4fa670ffaafdd0527f67.png Well, at least I hope so! Do you agree? Tell me what you think! Tech & Oprimization The game has been upgraded to the new tech! It now runs Unreal Engine 5.4 under the hood - instead of the old 5.2. The game looks better than ever and runs much smoother than it used to. I hope this makes the experience more enjoyable for you! Updated Music The amazing @Phyrnna has created an incredibly catchy track, which can now be heard while fighting especially menacing foes like Captain Slimebeard. Fighting a slimy crab pirate who slings barrels of rum around have never been so epic! In the meantime, check out Phyrnna's other work. You'll agree with me she's great. Improvements marked with ːsteamthumbsupː were based on the feedback I got from all of you so far. Keep it coming! As always - I'll be happy to see you on Crab Raid Tactics Discord, hear your honest thoughts and awesome ideas! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43947105/080cb9a2298e7a002c6e6a5eab38df71cf8ac924.png GL;HF! Rewarding Update
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Raid Leaders! 302 days ago, in March, Crab Raid Tactics demo have been published on Itch. Later, in May, it came to Steam as well. I want to sincerely thank everyone who played the game, added it to their wishlist, shared their feedback and ideas with me. When this game finally matures enough to be released - that would be thanks to all of you. Throughout this year, I applied to several online and offline events, and was able to showcase Crabs on some of them: Feedback Quest 3 on Itch.io Feedback Quest 4 on Itch.io - Scored #3-#4 in Graphics and Overall Fun, 4th place Feedback Quest 5 on Itch.io - Scored #1-#3 in every category!, 2nd place Steam Strategy Fest - Store Showcase DevGAMM Lisbon 2023 / IndieX Steam Event DevGAMM Lisbon 2023 Game Showcase DevGAMM Lisbon 2023 Public Pitch (won that one as well) For now, let's celebrate all that with the last update of this year! I have something nice in store for those who've been following the game and providing suggestions Objectives and Rewards Remember side objectives added in the last update? With this update, side objectives now give out minor rewards. So far, it is limited to "Loot" and "Pearls", but the expansion of the reward pool is something I'll start working on soon! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43947105/d853db0a098a3b42942e823cd310d6d921ba2ca3.gif The rewards themselves also got a significant facelift, and several graphical artifacts related to them have been fixed. UX And QoL Changes Over the course of this year, I've received numerous requests about some things. Always in a hurry, moving from country to country, preparing the build for one even or the other, I wasn't able to give enough love to those things. But I can now! Move All Button ːsteamthumbsupː That's right, it's finally here :) there is now a separate button and hotkey to command all three Crabs to move out to the same location. This is the first implementation, so I am sure you would have a lot of comments, requests and...Read full article on Community Announcements (Servelat)Patch NotesOfficial
