Online roguelike with every dungeon persistently simulated! Change the world by your actions: Claim dungeons, settle the colonists, and defend it.
RPG, Simulation, Massively Multiplayer, Early Access · 2026 · More free games
In Rogue Kingdom, explore ever-changing dungeons and build your colony from the ground up. This early access RPG lets you claim new territories and defend them against challenges.
About this game
Each dungeon is procedurally generated with enemies, unique bosses and historical artifacts. These places and unique items all have their own history ledger - and their own destiny.
Build your own dungeon home with NPC Settlers and other players to help you in PvE defense and resource gathering. For solo players, NPC adventurers also appear, assisting you in keeping dungeons clear.
The one unified world is made of series of (virtually infinite) dungeons. This world has persistent 100 years of pre-generated history and current ongoing progress. Every 14 days in real life, 1 year passes in Rogue Kingdom. Every mined tile, every started (or destroyed) settlement is forever etched in the whole history.
KEY FEATURES
Procedurally generated world and unique artifacts with its own history and events simulation. Every dungeon, every NPC and every artifact has its own 100 years of pre-generated history, while game chronology is simulated into the ongoing present. When you launch the game and enter a dungeon - it is not the same dungeon everyone else will be joining. It is uniquely generated dungeon that you can claim.
Game is always online. You can easily join or invite your friends to any dungeon through Steam invites. Invite them into your guild, or accidently run into another players dungeon while exploring networks of dungeons across the node-like map. All dungeons are connected to each other and reachable through exploration.
Every dungeon is just one simulated instance out of many other dungeons available for players to join, clear, and even settle, becoming its ruler. You can endlessly explore new dungeons, and crank up the difficulty by going deeper. Depth System is the main difficulty dial in this game. Level 20 players are recommended to stay in range of Depth 10-30.
Your claimed dungeon gradually turns into an underground "town" with other adventurers and workers visiting and living there. You can help them grow their workshops such as Tavern, Forge, Barracks. Or you may leave the workers to gather resources by themselves while you keep them safe from respawning monster population.
Follower Companions and Quest givers. Also you may have a rare chance to meet unique legendary historical figures, you can even recruit them as companions and settlers. Companions follow you around and help you in combat, or stay at one of your home dungeons to defend it.
Increasing your Mining and Crafting skills will also allow you to craft better spells and upgraded weapons for use in combat, while helping with growth of your settlement.
Be careful of producing Cheese in high level depths. Strange cultists have obsession with it. Nobody knows why exactly.

Stability Updates and Bugfixes - 0.5.5 is out + News About Release Date
Hi! Lets start about release date - the original release date was Jun 29th. This will be delayed by 2-3 weeks (exact date to be announced after Steamworks support will be able to help out with my ticket :D)It has been harder than usual last few weeks to get in touch with Steamworks support, I assume due to Next Fest busy times, but I realized thats probably for the best, as the game could use more content and bugfix updates before first Early Access release anyway! Its important to clarify, this does not affect existing players in any way, since Demo that is up for free already and Early Access will have same features and access, with same exact account data and worldSo don't be waiting on release date, dive in now! :DAnd to clarify, the full game that will be released in 2-3 weeks WILL be paid. Since one time payment is the only income source for this game. The game has no final version, full time development will go on indefinitely, for years. Current release cadence is weekly. Meaning there will be weekly content + bugfix releases on BOTH free demo and paid full game (with full game receiving more optional endgame content such as prestige levels and over-levels, an upcoming feature not present in neither version yet) So again, play demo today! :D And if you already played, play again once you notice major update, as I am trying to keep things interesting by adding more content every week. Now, back to the actual title of this blogpost... Update 0.5.5! It was focused on polishing the game and adding more combat stuff. Here is the changelog over from our Discord: - Improved combat visuals, drops visuals and added some new sound effects.- Added a first-dungeon guide for new players.- Added key rebinding in Settings. (Thanks to @r1n8751 for suggestion)- Added a Combat Effects setting.- Added new dungeon music OST (3 new tracks).- Improved Dash feedback so it does not look ready too early.- Improved Inventory with double-click gear equip.- Improved item use, food use, ...Read full article on Community Announcements (bolko)Patch NotesOfficial
Upcoming Update 0.5 (and released 0.5-rc1)
Thanks for playing the demo with us so far! It has been a bit wild ride for me as a solo dev though as I spent quite some time fixing networking bugs haha. This new update that is already live, 0.5-rc1 (so basically, 0.5 but the early subversion) brings lots of important networking fixes. Its still not perfect, but networking and whole server architecture has been fully rewritten, which will bring essential improvements to stability of whole project long-term (which will be very necessary, considering format of this game with chronological history generation :D) Demo will stay live. We are not shutting it down. Its now using same exact servers as live game will. Meaning progress, settlements, and items/saves will not reset in any way. Many players were concerned about "Central Server" tag which implies that there are currently no region-specific servers. This is not intended to be this way forever. We will have per-dungeon server instances for every major region so latency will be minimized soon after first early access release. So stay tuned for that! :D but really, most major issues were literal server performance (CPU and networking on server side overloaded) due to overly demanding simulations that were safely optimized and made way more performant now. And to clarify, current "Central Server" is hosted in Germany - but that should be very hard to notice even if you are not from Europe because 0.5 is adding client side smoothing and prediction that is way more forgiving to latency in terms of online netcode. Now, more fun stuff! Check out screenshots below. And join our Discord for more frequent updates and development ideas/discussions/bug reports! :D Cheers!Read full article on Community Announcements (bolko)AnnouncementsOfficial

Free Demo is releasing 15th for Steam Next Fest June 2026!
As title says, demo will be released 15th, for the Steam Next Fest! Demo version of the game currently includes full feature set during Steam Next Fest. Base game is going to release at end of the Steam Next Fest, at 29th! After the base game is out, Demo will stay live, intended for players to keep playing as they wish! Demo will stay updated, but future features, added after first base game release version may be subject to limitations to encourage paying players to help fund the development! :DAll players play on same central server, on separate dungeon instances. you may invite your Steam friends to your dungeon or to join your party. Or you may explore node-like world map dungeon travel to find other players and their home dungeons! Whole world is interconnected, both historically and physically. Whole game runs on a history generator simulation with virtual world chronology and historical events/persons/artifacts I know this sounds a bit overwhelming, so I will be posting blog posts here once a week or so, explaining each feature in detail to create an idea of how it works internally! Stay tuned, and join our Discord for more frequent information! Cheers!- BolkoRead full article on Community Announcements (bolko)
