Embark on a casual space adventure in Solar System Simulator, a gravity-defying sandbox experience from WPC. Dive into a vast universe where every planet and asteroid holds secrets waiting to be discovered.

About this game

In this game you can explore almost any moon or planet of our solar system and visit remarkable nearby stars and see their location in the Milky Way. But you can also change existing bodies or add new ones and make a solar system of your own. The simulation will then act as a gravity and physics sandbox and recalculate orbits in line with Newton's laws.

This is the desktop version of the mobile game "Solar System Simulator", which has so far accumulated more than 3 million downloads on Android and iOS combined . This desktop version offers higher quality texture and height maps and smoother gameplay. More features will be added to the game.

Tsunamis, 26 new objects, and time up to 2048×

Drop an asteroid into an ocean and the water will know it. Impacts now generate real tsunamis: waves that propagate across the sea, wrap around continents and break on actual coastlines.Impacts got another upgrade too: a new fireball that expands like a real blast wave, a new cloud blast, and an ejecta fountain that throws debris arcing back down onto the surface. The solar system also got considerably more crowded: 26 new objects, including two minor planets that have rings of their own. What's new3D tsunamis after ocean impacts: waves propagate, refract around landmasses and run up on real coastlinesNew impact effects: fireball, cloud blast and ejecta fountain. 0.363 Extra features and stability

Added customizable asteroid belt which can be added to any starAdded customizable magnetospheres. Stars produce stellar winds that deform magnetospheres.Added customizable temperature texturesAdded comet C/2024 G3,Added interstellar comet 3I/ATLASAdded binary bodies option in the orbit helperThe orbit helper now also shows the orbital period of the selected objectAdded basic tutorial in the Help menuCollision now don't make craters by default. If you want collision craters, you can switch the setting on in the Physics menu. You can now add objects using spherical coordinates (Right Ascension, Declination and Distance from selected origin). Spherical coordinates for any body can be found on Wikipedia among others. With this option you can add objects in their scientifically correct locations. To use it, press the sphere icon after clicking the "Add new body" button.Performance improvementsSwitched from Euler to Leapfrog integration for the n-body calculations. It should result in more stable orbits. The simulation now runs much more smoothly when you select the "accurate orbits" option in the physics settings; when you select that option moons in tight orbits won't get flung out anymoreRemoved the cloud save/load option as it caused too many bugsUnity security fixFixed CJK glyph style bugs

Major Update: Cloud Saves + Free Surface Movement

Cloud Save: With the new cloud save feature, you can upload your save games to share your unique systems with the community or download other players' creations. Explore Freely: You can now freely explore the surfaces of all planets! Move around and check out the planetary terrain. Mars, Earth, the Moon and the Jovian Moons have highly realistic terrain based on real planetary terrain data from space agencies. Change Object Shape: You can now alter the axial proportions of objects, making them flatter or wider as you desire. This allows you to make objects more elongated to simulate extreme gravitational pull or rotational speed. Or just to create a fun "Flat Earth"!

    - Besides "cracking" an object to split it in a number of pieces, you can now also turn it into a particle ball of thousands of particles that react to gravity. This option can be set from the physics menu. - Planet debris from collisions is now susceptible to gravity. Collisions will now leave visible craters on the surviving body - Besides a ring shape, you can now also set particle rings to a donut or sphere shape - You can now set the eccentricty of orbits with the use of the orbit helper - The orbit helper can now assist in setting up binary orbits - You can change the skybox to a custom design of your choice. To have the least distortion, try using an equirectangular panoramic 360 image - Added 3 well-known galaxies in their correct locations: Sombrero Galaxy, Sculptor Galaxy and Whirlpool Galaxy - You can now also set object parameters directly by clicking on them and using the keyboard instead of only using the sliders - You can turn planet surfaces into crater landscapes by adding a bunch of random craters to them
