Mudborne is being created by ellraiser, one half of the indie-dev studio, TNgineers. A spiritual successor of sorts to APICO, Mudborne instead focuses on genetic manipulation and generational puzzles to create and discover all sorts of frog species, with experimentation being encouraged.
It originally started as a gamejam entry for FletchFest 2023, with the theme of ‘pond’. Ell had always joked about ‘what if APICO but frog?’ before, and this seemed a perfect opportunity to play with the concept and how to take things in a new direction.

A portion of the money made will be donated towards national and international amphibian, wetlands, and environmental charities to help keep our little green friends and their homes happy and healthy <3
You can learn more about TNgineer's charitable efforts on the website.

Got Bugs?
Hello Mud Born! It's been a little while, I hop you are all doing well! I've been a bit busy recently releasing a new game - Snacktorio! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1902940/Snacktorio/ (It's a level-based factory sim about mass producing food to feed monsters! If you like modded MC like old buildcraft, you probably would enjoy trying the demo!!) Now that it's out and the less tasty bugs are getting squashed it'll be time for me to do some patches for my other games. I've always aimed to do at least 1 maintenance patch each year for all the games to clear out the algae and mop up the puddles, but just didn't have the time with Snacktorio being (yet ANOTHER) spring release - remind me next time my next game has to come out in Autumn... So after June's finished up and Snacktorio isn't exploding randomly I'll be coming back to Mudborne (and then APICO) for some bug fixes! I have some reports in the form to catch-up with, plus some outstanding things here in the forums - but if you've encountered something recently when playing and haven't reported it, now is the time to do so!! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43799343/d150b5a029eff65b3b0dc5b6cb430ab2f457e1e3.png I'll be going through everything here on Steam plus everything reported in the form ( https://forms.gle/VwecUhTgKqpGK6c46 ) around July/August time, so be sure to report anything in case I've missed it, and I might even be able to squeeze a couple bits of QoL if they're small, so let me know! So yeah, nothing too exciting, but if you have anything outstanding to report please get them in, and I'll hop back later in the year with some fixes for you all. A big thank you to all of you who've been playing and enjoying Mudborne - I appreciate all of you so much!Read full article on Community Announcements (ellraiser)AnnouncementsOfficial
Tiny Teams!
Hey friends! I'm delighted to announce that Mudborne will be part of this year's 'Tiny Teams' event - a celebration of games made by solo dev and small teams. If you didn't know already, Mudborne was made by just one frog (me, Ell!) You can check out all the other games in the event here (and you should!) https://store.steampowered.com/curator/423471/sale/tinyteams2025 While I'm here, I also wanted to say that we've now hit over 40,000 frogs playing Mudborne! Thanks for every single one of you for playing Mudborne, it's been wonderful to see the response and I'm so grateful for you all for letting me continue making these funky little gamesRead full article on Community Announcements (ellraiser)
