    Update 1.6 More settings

Hi, Since the launch, the settings in Darksy's Adventure have been very limited. You could change some really basic settings but that was about it. Most of the settings present didn't even effect performance that much. A great example of that is texture quality. Textures are stored in vram, these days however vram sizes are big and the likelihood of your running out of vram is small. The only setting that really did have any impact were shadows and you could only enable or disable them which led to 2 choices: bad looking game or bad fps. This update changes all of that. Added resolution settings. You can select among 3 resolutions: 720p, 1080p and 4K I deem this setting to be the most important as it effects FPS in the most impactful way. If you're running the game on an old laptop with integrated graphics, you can turn down all of the settings as much as you want and you'll still end up with 15 FPS because the game has to render a 1080p image on a 720p screen. Added full screen toggle setting This one is just a nice quality of life feature. Added more shadows settings. You can select among 5 shadow settings: Full resolution, High resolution, Medium resolution, Low resolution, Disabled This is the second most impactull setting. Shadow calculations are expensive and some weaker hardware cannot cope with them well. Having 5 settings instead of just an on and off setting will hopefully allow some players to experience shadows with high framerates. These settings also affect shadow draw distance. Added post processing toggle setting Post processing effects add things like ambient occlusion, bloom, depth of field etc.. The game uses post processing but up until now there was no way of disabling it. Post processing eats up framerate because on top of all the shadow calculations and rendering, the game has to also apply various effects a well. Bug fixes: Fixed a bug where the game wouldn't save mouse sensitivity settings properly Other: Made level 6 easier Improved world 2...

Update 1.5: Boss Improvement and Quality of Life

Hi! It's been a while since the last update hasn't it? During that time I've been collecting feedback. So let's get into the changes! Boss 4 Since the launch of the game, boss 4 has been confusing for many players. Players have reported that they don't know how to beat the boss. The boss is now slower when at max health. Increased the size of the button's hitbox. When the boss has full health there are arrows pointing at the button. Boss 6 When the boss has full health there are arrows pointing at him to show the player that they have to pounce into him. Quality of life Made minigames more easier The game will now show you which minigames have been completed in the level select Other Darksy's tail whip is now cancelled when colliding with a steep surface. This is here to make it more difficult to climb up walls the player is not supposed to climb. Fixed typos and grammar mistakes. Fixed some level skips (Level 18 mainly). You can no longer shoot atoms while sliding. Cactuses in the Wild Furry West now deal damage to make the world slightly more difficult.

Update 1.3: Experimental controller support and boss 1 improvements

Hi, Since last update I have received new feedback regarding the game. Here is a list of changes: Boss 1 Players have said that the boss fight doesn't make it obvious what they're supposed to do. This issue popped up during development too. I tried to fix it with a cutscene but it's now clear that cutscene isn't enough. Before I get into the changes I'd like to discuss how the boss worked. Looking back at it I do admit that these changes should have been done sooner. General Foxin had a 6 second timer. This timer would tick down if the player were close enough, if they weren't he would follow them. If the timer reached 0 zero, a rocket would get fired. This led to strange situations where sometimes the player would have to sit there for 6. This must have led some players into believing that they were doing something wrong. Here are the changes: General Foxin's timer has been reduced from 6 seconds to 3 seconds. General Foxin's timer now goes down even if the player is far away. General Foxin no longer shoots rockets if one has already been shot. General Foxin's rockets follow timer has been reduced by 1 second across all difficulties. The brick wall now emits subbtle particles to hopefully guide the players. The brick wall now has effect for when General Foxin rams into it. Fixed a bug that caused General Foxin to push you out of bounds. Fixed a bug where sometimes General Foxin's rage would just abruptly stop right after starting Experimental controller support Some players have been disappointed with the lack of controller support. Unfortunately during most of the game's development I didn't own any controller meaning I was unable to implement controller support. Right now I only own a PS1 dualshock. Of course this controller is outdated and the driver support isn't best either. This does allow me to implement controller support half-blindly. Right now the controller support works fully only during gameplay and not in menus! If everything has been set up correctly...
