About this game

If not you, who will save us?

The year is 1414 and the cycle of good versus evil has renewed. A hero has been chosen by the gods, and the demons are assembling to challenge her. This challenge occurs every 101 years.

The 1300s saw a great plague. The loss of human life was staggering. Regardless of their alignment with demons or gods, humans were overwhelmed by the ravages of the plague. This time, the demon forces were triumphant in capturing all the sacred scrolls.

In the year 1414, your hero must retrieve the sacred scrolls of enlightenment, and begin to restore enlightenment throughout the world.

The one chosen for this quest is Brendylynn, an enlightened soul on the path to becoming a rishi, an accomplished and enlightened person who, through intense meditation, has realized the supreme truth and eternal knowledge.

The game features:
  • A banking system that offers monthly interest, and protects funds from being stolen by thieves, pickpockets, and ne-er-do-wells,
  • a crafting system for producing food and beverages,
  • a hunger, thirst, and stamina system,
  • a relationship manager, and
  • an extensive network of shops and merchants,

She must navigate:
  • An unfamiliar town, with buildings that offer specialized services,
  • a series of random dungeons, filled with treasure,
  • forest and dungeon monsters,
  • relationships, determining party status, and
  • buying and recycling goods.

All this while meeting a host of interesting characters and visiting strange lands.

    v3.1.11 Update

This update includes the following changes: Destiny has a brand-new look. Aarin Lohar, the town blacksmith, can now forge copper, iron, silver, or gold keys for you. They will be used to unlock secret doors and open locked chests. In the landing, woods, and dungeons, chests that have a chain wrapped around them have been replaced with chests without a chain. In the future, chests with a chain wrapped around them will represent locked chests. A couple of secret doors have been added (if we said where, they wouldn't be secret), as well as a locked chest. There will be more in the future. The exit doors in the Guild Dungeons have been changed from wooden trap doors to ladderways with sliding concrete covers that better befit a dungeon. Performance enhancements were made to the actor and item information systems.

    v3.1.10 Update

This update includes the following changes: The shipping container display has been completely revised. It is now possible to see what is in the shipping container and what is in your inventory side by side, and to move items back and forth between them, up until midnight when the shipping container is emptied, and the items in it sold. Brendylynn has had a fashion makeover, and now wears clothes that are much more appropriate for the rugged adventures she faces. If the HUD was displayed, and the PAUSE button was clicked during a battle, when the game was resumed, the HUD would display during the battle. This has been fixed.

    v3.1.9 Update

The following changes are included in this update: The inventory display has been completely revised. It is now displayed as a grid, as in most other games. The same changes have been made to the shipping container display. Zeph, who guards the East entrance of the Market, would always wish you a good evening when you left the market after it closed, even if it was actually morning. He now wishes you a good morning, evening, or night, as appropriate. A problem where multiple functions were trying to use the same picture IDs at the same time, causing pictures to disappear seemingly randomly, was fixed. The system that controls the gates in the Market was streamlined and made more reliable.

    v3.1.8 Update

This update includes the following changes: The previous update introduced an error where the dates of holidays in the Encyclopedia showed the day of the week instead of the month. This was fixed. High Priestess Tulsi's responses to new scrolls from Brendylynn were increased in number, so as to avoid tedium. The logic for processing quests and scrolls was completely refurbished, giving much more stable, predictable, and maintainable results. Sleep processing whether due to going to bed, taking a nap, collapsing from hunger, thirst, or exhaustion, or returning from delivering a scroll to High Priestess Tulsi, has been standardized, and problems with dialog starting before the scene has faded in have been fixed. Interacting with NPCs has changed. Previously, when you talked to an NPC, you got list of choices for how you wanted to interact, with one of them being "Nevermind". Now there are several icons to the right of the message box for things like chat, open shop, give a gift, ask what gifts they like, and ask them to join your party. Any icons that are not available are grayed out. Instead of having to select the "Nevermind" choice when you don't want further interaction, you can just press the enter key to dismiss the message box. Several NPCs did not hide the HUD while they were talking, which made the dialog hard to read. This has been corrected.

    v3.1.7 Update

This update includes the following changes: Changed NPCs to occasionally mention when it is a holiday. Recovered day-of-week names. When a formatted date is given, as in Destiny's "Good Morning" messages, it now includes the day of the week, for example, "Ihud, Terr 1, 1414". The days of the week are Ihud, Sanno, Maksanno, and Rabu. Rabu is a Holy day. When Brendylynn wakes up in the morning, there is now a toast message if the current day is a holiday. The shipping container was still referred to as the "Recycle Bin" in a few places. This has been fixed. The following Visustella plugins were updated to the latest version: - 8 Waves Collection - Battle Technician Vol 1 - Custom Construct Vol 1 to 3 - Dungeon Divers - Merchant Manager Vol 1 and 2 - Visual Novel Vol 1 - Wanderlust
