About this game
Survive a journey across space in the Auriga Vault, an interstellar gothic monastery crewed by the last remaining exiles of a terrible disaster. Explore hostile solar systems, construct outposts, and craft precious materials to keep your crew alive. During the long hibernation between suns, expand the knowledge and ability of your exiles, and delay the arrival of The Gloom.
The Banished Vault is a run-based strategy game of solar system exploration, resource and crew management, and outpost construction.
Procedurally generated solar systems are displayed as realistic energy maps, with various bodies presenting different challenges. Plan your movements carefully, as engines and fuel behave according to a simplified but punishing rocket equation.
Construct outposts in orbit and on planet surfaces, considering the space needed, hazards, and accessibility. Resources are not tracked globally, and must be harvested and transported by your star ships from various locations to be used.
Search for artifacts to bring back to the Vault to unlock abilities for your exiles and new buildings to construct. Dice challenges test your exiles’ faith enduring hazards in a hostile universe.
Complete your run by surviving long enough to write the story of your Vault and transmit it home. The voyage is challenging - your exiles might die or be left behind. If you are reduced to one exile, the journey fails. No one can survive alone.

Patch 1.6.1
A couple of small but serious exploits and sources of corrupted save data fixed! Thank you for reporting bugs and playing The Banished Vault. Prevented starting maneuvers while in the location screen, leading to exploits. Fixed multiple causes of corrupted save data while exiting the game under rare circumstances. Prevented opening the pause menu while rolling dice, leading to corrupted data. Androids Content Update
The Androids update (v1.6) is live! These are robotic Exiles that you can find on abandoned ships in solar systems. Androids do not need Stasis to hibernate, and they have a condition value instead of faith. This has interesting implications for how they handle hazards and how long they last on your journey! The in-game manual has an additional page added to it – the external pdf has been updated and if you have version 1 of the physical rulebook, we have prepared a pdf of just the additional page.
