About this game
Welcome to Magica Planta Botanica, a deck-building strategy game where you can experience the excitement of growing your own seed into a fruit-bearing tree. Use a set of utility cards to grow, cut certain parts, or even manipulate your surroundings to your advantage. But be prepared for the unexpected – with changing weather and pesky pests, every day presents new challenges to overcome.
Imagine a game simulation of growing a tree from a seed. You can grow the roots to search for water or other sources of nutrients, or cut them loose if they're decaying or the tree doesn't have enough food to maintain its size. You can also grow and cut other parts of the tree, such as the stems, leaves, flowers, or fruits. Moreover, you can even manipulate the surroundings to your tree's advantage. Now, all of these actions are limited to only using cards.
In combat deck-building games, you use cards to inflict damage, shield yourself, or perform other actions. In Magica Planta Botanica, cards are used to grow your tree. You can plant a root or stem toward a specific direction, grow leaves for photosynthesis, or a flower with the hope that it will bloom into a fruit. Well, even if it fails and begins to wither instead, don't fret – cut it loose! There are no more soils or water that can provide any nutrients or water for photosynthesis? Say no more, add more soils! With cards, of course. And if you have enough Miracle to use too, of course.
Not having enough food is not your only obstacle that stops you from prospering. Caterpillars, crows, and other pests can damage your precious tree. No need to worry though – when they arrive, you can repel them by the help of The Insects! The Insects are the special units you can deploy on many parts of your tree. Strategize their placements and banish all of those pests!
After growing your tree and feeling satisfied, a part of you may yearn for more growing. That's where challenges come in! You can select different seeds and choose different terrains, each with its own gimmicks and challenges.
Can You Nurture Your Seed into a Beautiful, Fruit-Bearing Tree?
Turn-based gameplay adds strategy and planning to the experience.
Explore numerous cards to develop your plant, starting with a simple starter deck and unlocking more cards as you progress.
Choose how your plant grows by selecting where to extend your stem, roots, and leaves. Optimize for resources, plan ahead with branching, or even shape your plant to your liking.
Defend your plant against invading pests! Place your units on your tree. Use the best unit and station them on the best part of your tree to deal more damage and protect your plant from harm.
Face off against changing weather conditions, which can both hinder and help your plant's growth.
Finish all of the quests from the Spirits to gain wonderful rewards! The more quests you finish, the closer you are to the spirits.
Play as different seeds, each with their own unique plant shape and starter deck, and strive to reach specific goals.
Explore various areas with different challenges and rewards to uncover.
Take a snapshot of your beautiful creation and share it with the world, or simply add it to your collection of personal favorites.

Official Announcement and Apology
Hello Our Dear Arborist Friends! It’s been a while since our official update, and I know many of you may realize that some time ago, our page was being pulled from the Steam store. It’s such sad and also surprising news for us. If you already join our discord, then you may already get an update regarding this matter from there. First and foremost, we want to apologize that this accident made many of you unable to enjoy the demo 🙇. We found out from the Steam team that other companies actually registered the “Grow the Seed” Trademark, and Steam needed to take action to retire our page because of this. Thankfully, with the great support from the Steam team, they respond to us very quickly and help us intensively go through the process of restoring the page again. We delved into many solutions at that time and reached the conclusion to change the name of the game, while as for the game itself is totally the same. Our demo will be temporarily titled “Magica Planta Botanica”, but it's not a final official title and only the temporary name so we can let it live again on steam. We will have separate announcements in the future for the new official title and to announce the release of the renewed demo of the game. Once again, we are really sorry for the inconvenience that happened because of this problem. This happens because of our mistake and in turn it temporarily prevents you all from enjoying our game. In this version, v.3.1.0, we listen and gather all of your feedbacks and updates the demo with love and dedicated it all for our beloved players and community. Here's the list of all the update we've made: UI Changes: We have changed the UI design and visual according to your feedbacks to make it even more neat and tidy but still informative towards you, our dearest players. Card Visual Changes: The card's design and visual have also undergone a change, the new design serves to be easier to read and seen by. Calendar and Day System Changes: Now with the updated mechanics in Calendar and Day System, you will able to meet with the Merchant at the end of each week, and the Battle Day will happen only on particular week.
