About this game

Alien Frontier is an open world, third-person shooter roguelite. Explore, search, and mine resources in the deadly alien wilderness... assuming you can survive combat with hordes of bloodthirsty aliens. Collect loot and upgrades to become the most dangerous (and wealthy) prospector in the galaxy!


Grapple, dash, glide, and hover your way through harrowing encounters with the deadly alien fauna. Fight your way through adrenaline-fueled, bullet hell inspired third-person combat that will keep you on the edge of your seat.


With over 100 unique items, upgrades, and abilities, each run is a chance to discover and combine loot in creative and unexpected ways, allowing you to unleash devastating power on even the most fearsome of aliens.


As an interstellar prospector, you don't just explore a vast open world, but you change it. From constructing tunnels deep into mountains to setting up massive mining rigs on the surface, every structure you build transforms the landscape and rewards you with valuable upgrades and equipment.


Use your jetpack, thrusters, and hoverboard to explore procedural open worlds where there are no minimaps to guide you. Read the landscape and explore every corner of the world to uncover the mystery of the strange alien planet.

  Hi prospectors! The third major content update has released and is now live! Jump into the game to unlock and try out the newest character, the Prospector, who uses mines, turrets, and other gadgets to deal devastating damage to his foes. In addition to the new playable character, we've introduced a wide number of bug fixes and balance changes, thanks to community feedback.   Alien Frontier - Update 1: Towns and Mission Flow

  https://i.imgur.com/QHITHFr.png Hello prospectors! First and foremost, thanks to everyone who has played and provided feedback during Alien Frontier's early access launch period! We've received a tonne of feedback from players, and we believe in listening carefully and updating often! As such, just under two weeks from the Early Access launch, we're rolling out the very first major update: Towns and Mission Flow. There are a few bugfixes, but the update focuses on two major components. Reworked Mission Flow We've received a lot of information regarding the flow and structure of the game, especially how it feels a bit too open. What's the point of killing enemies? What do clots do? What am I supposed to focus on? To provide more clarity to the flow, players now must clear out a certain number of enemy locations before receiving resource mining objectives. Additionally, when players mine these objectives, the reward chests are now free. Clots gained from killing enemies are now exclusively used for opening world chests. The new flow is such: Clear out enemies Mine a resource Clear out more enemies Mine another resource This flow is more focused, which we feel is a good solution to the previous method, which, while open and non-linear, was perhaps too open. Players reported feeling directionless and unfocused with the way objectives were allocated. More World Density The other most common piece of feedback was how the world felt too empty. Therefore, we've tweaked the density of chests, enemies, and most importantly, secrets! Let us know how it feels! Additionally, this leads into another big change... The Outpost is Available in Day 1 Another common piece of feedback was the lack of perceivable roguelite mechanics. The outpost, which is available in-game during the second day, was meant to provide progression mechanics.   Alien Frontier Launch Hotfix

  Hi prospectors! Some of you may have run into a blocking issue where you cannot progress through the tutorial after building the mining rig. That issue is resolved! Additionally, you can exit the tutorial at any time to progress forward into the main game. Thank you for the understanding!

  Alien Frontier Launches into Early Access on January 31, 2025!

  We're pleased to annoumce that Alien Frontier will be launching into Early Access on January 31st, 2025! In Early Access, the game is fully playable from start to finish. There are no "missing acts" or levels "coming soon". Future updates will include bug fixes, balance patches, and supplementary content such as more playable characters and additional endgame challenges. During the first week of launch, you can enjoy the game at a 10 percent discount!
