Step into the shoes of Hazel Gong, a newspaper reporter turned sleuth, in Card Detective. This 2023 indie RPG and strategy game immerses you in solving puzzles and uncovering secrets at an abandoned building site.
About this game
Crime, criminal investigation, interrogation. Can these elements, commonly found in mystery dramas and cop movies, be presented in a game?
Out of a strong interest in the subject matter, the production team studied a large number of books on criminal psychology and consulted with professionals in the field, seeking to understand the discipline as deeply as possible. We have brought our findings to "Card Detective", integrating them deeply with the plot and gameplay.
During our research, we also considered which art style would best fit the story atmosphere. Ultimately, we chose a realistic comic style, using rich variations in shadows, lines, and tones to present the overall atmosphere and foreshadow the plot direction. This is a new attempt for us on the artistic level, and we hope everyone will like it!
Faced with the subjective statements of the witnesses from different perspectives, to uncover the truth, Hazel Gong turns to a mysterious bar owner to learn criminal investigation and psychology, and questions the witnesses. Confronted with complex relationships and a series of emergencies, will Hazel Gong be able to uncover the truth of the case?
In terms of character animation, we aim to replicate the real reactions of people being interrogated through the nuanced depiction of micro-expressions, linking character movements and expressions with gameplay.
Pay close attention to the story, analyze the veracity of the testimonies, and win easily with non-traditional card game strategies.

Bug Fixes: ①Older save files stuck at a certain level can now return to the current main storyline scene via -> -> . ②Fixed a bug where using the "Information Question" and then selecting "Credibility" resulted in negative action values. Optimizations: ①Added tier labels to certain disguise actions. ②In the second playthrough, tutorial levels can be skipped. However, if the old save file is at or before the tutorial level, that level must be completed to proceed. ③Deck and encyclopedia unlocks from the first playthrough are carried over to the second. New cards are no longer awarded for winning main storyline levels in the second playthrough. ④Side quest rewards and their unlock status from the first playthrough are carried over. Completed side quests from the first playthrough can be experienced again without affecting reward acquisition. ⑤For players who started a second playthrough and saved their game before this update, clicking on // in the old save will unlock all cards.
