    THE DEMO UPDATE

it's been a long journey. i've been working on this project since november of 2022, and i'm finally at a point where i'm satisfied enough with what i have that i can let people freely play it.in the coming weeks the game will be released as a public free demo for everyone to play. this is a big step and i thank all of you who have stayed with me along the way. i never got to play arena shooters, so now i'm trying to bring them back so we can have fun together.big thanks to Ogure4k for being by my side since 2024 helping me out with maps and overall feedback, to FESTUS who remade every single animation in the game to be as juicy as it is, and to KNOWETSKI for making our awesome soundtrack.now for what's in this update. i'm terrible at keeping track of patches but let's see.NewAdded a tutorial map that teaches you the basics of the game.Added a shooting range in the tutorial map where you can try every weapon and all its abilities, on dummies that actually react to where you hit them.Dedicated servers are now in. You can browse and join internet dedicated servers straight from the server list.ChangesEvery map got reworked for better topology and lighting. ogurefacility got a big remake. (map names might still change before the demo, i'm just not waiting another hour for the game to compile again :P)Reworked the movement to be faster and smoother: added input buffers, fixed a bunch of bad checks, reworked step detection, and you can now slide in any direction.Match stability is much better now. The instability came from the new dedicated server code being unfinished. That's sorted.Shotgun range buffed. The LA-87 and LW-19 now have spread. You now fly when using the LR-01 Payback ultimate.FixesLS-50 wall piercing now works properly. The tracer shows piercing through the wall and you can land collateral eliminations.Fixed the vote kick.Fixed client builds throwing errors and crashing on quit.that's it. see you in the demo.

    The OVERPUMPED Update

Additions:Renamed the game to Killnetic. Players can now finally experience the true identity of the battlefield. Added Proximity Voice Chat with full functionality — supports push-to-talk and open mic modes, player muting, and persistent mute states across matches. Added Capture the Flag gamemode — steal the enemy team’s nuclear codes and deliver them to your terminal to score points.Weapon Changes:Reworked all weapon shot validation to improve reliability across all ping ranges. Fixed an issue where quick-swapping or high latency could cause the server to ignore valid shots. Shots should now only rarely desync under extreme conditions.LP-12 Shotgun Rework – “Overpumped” Ability:Base shot (no pumps): 100 total damage, 6 pellets.1 pump: 130 total damage, 8 pellets.2 pumps: 150 total damage, 10 pellets.3 pumps: 300 total damage, 12 pellets.4th pump triggers Overpump: next shot fires a small explosion dealing 30 damage and knockback.General Changes:Improved shot replication and hit registration consistency across clients. Optimized server-side validation for better performance under high load. Minor HUD and feedback adjustments for better combat readability. We are very close to releasing the demo — get ready to jump into Killnetic’s fast-paced chaos.
