About this game
In lush alpine mountains and meadows stands the renowned equestrian capital of Europe, a town called Rein Ravine and its surrounding province of the same name.
You have been admitted to study in its highly sought-after Rein Ravine Equine University International, alongside with other ambitious equestrians from around the world. This once in a lifetime opportunity leads you to train in the three most common European disciplines - showjumping, dressage, and cross country - under the eye of masters claimed to be some of the best in the world. But is equestrian life in this prestigious village as glamorous as it appears?
The Early Access version of Tales of Rein Ravine doesn't contain the storyline yet, but while waiting for the school year to begin, you can visit the barns in Rein Ravine and take summer riding lessons!

Tales of Rein Ravine aims to challenge its players with first-of-its-kind riding mechanics and gameplay heavily inspired by real-life horse riding, as well as tell an intriguing story - more mature than typical in its genre - to a young adult audience of horse gamers. Horses in Rein Ravine are versatile to ride, ranging from calm and experienced geldings to hot-blooded mares and easily spooked young stallions.

Update on Oct 16 - Many Bug Fixes, Optimization, Clearer Gameplay
This update contains several bug fixes - Music sounding weird or starting over when running fixed - SteamVR should no longer open when starting the game - Glitching through gates and stable walls should no longer be possible - Horse rental options will no longer repeat two days in a row - Anti-aliasing setting not doing anything when turning on TSR fixed Other improvements - You can now choose the exact dialogue when interacting with objects. This should make it clearer to find what you have to do at the start of the game. - Added more instructions to Cherry Peak on how to find the lesson timetables. - Performance optimizations on all levels but mainly on the University map - if your game was previously crashing while loading the level, this problem might now be fixed, since it's lighter to load. - Added a Screen Percentage setting - if your game looks blurry and pixelated, check that the percentage setting is at 100%. The percentage setting only affects the graphics significantly when you have Anti-Aliasing set to Fast or Off. - Motion blur effect when riding in first person has been removed at least for now entirely. It might come back later as an optional setting after it's been improved. - Added a Vertical Sync setting, for those that experience screen tearing. You might also want to try changing your graphics card's own Vsync settings for Tales of Rein Ravine - a couple of players reported that they had improved performance after turning it off. Possibly fixed issue? - I'm aware of an issue where players with an Intel integrated graphics card get recommended a 30.0.101.1340 driver model, despite already having a newer one. This looks to be an known issue with the game engine version that TORR currently uses. I added some code that should bypass the graphics card check in this build, but if it still doesn't work, the game will have to be migrated to a newer engine version at some point (a bigger task unfortunately).Read full article on Community Announcements (Maia the Horsegirl)AnnouncementsOfficial
Tales of Rein Ravine Early Access is OUT NOW!
In the first build of the Early Access; You start at the University, which is currently on a summer break. From there you can go and explore locations in Rein Ravine by the bus - after you've first found info about how to get there! At the Uni, you find interactable objects that contain important information, as well as clues to the upcoming storyline. Note, that you can inspect an objects more than once. At one of the barns you can take a Riding Essentials course with senior coach Paola Giordiano, each lesson being around 15 minutes long (given that there's no fails). After you've learned the essential skills, you get a permission to start renting horses at the stable. The available rental horses and activities are slightly different every day. In the 'rent a horse' mode you can, for instance, test out the dressage mechanics - after completing the basic lessons, a book containing detailed instructions to the dressage commands, is opened. The Eventing Grounds area, containing cross country jumps, is also open to be explored in this mode. In the Flatwork Arena, you can make your own Flatwork exercises - up to 5 courses - and in the Jumping Arena, pre-made polework courses can be spawned into the arena. The equipment for spawning the courses are found in the corners of the riding arenas. When interacting with objects as the main character (Ava), you need to use the right mouse button to focus on the objects first, then you can choose the interaction with the left mouse button. If there is more than one option, you can scroll through the options with the mouse wheel - or with E and Q keys.Read full article on Community Announcements (Maia the Horsegirl)
