About this game

Snafu is a horror game that takes a step back from the usual haunted house / paranormal style game and creates a unique horror environment using unconventional mechanics, story and charm. And of course some spooky moments in between. Snafu may be a horror game that is not for everyone, but it will definitely be an interesting experience.

*Warning* This game includes significant scares, disturbing events, disturbing audio and flashing lights. Please proceed at your own volition.

*The Estimated Completion Time For Snafu is Approximately 80-min*

What is the story behind Snafu?

You begin playing the Medieval Grow your Business Game with hopes and ambitions to make as much money as you can. Alibaba, the main NPC and caretaker of the game introduces what the game has to offer. However, as you begin to delve deeper into the world, Alibaba discovers a glitch, or virus of some sort. Something foreign has gotten into the system and has begun to terrorize everything this Medieval Grow your Business Game had to offer. NPCs begin to act strangely, textures begin to morph, and the Glitch known as Snafu begins to wonder the streets – especially at night fall. It is Alibaba’s hope that you make it to the main castle and unplug him from the game before Snafu completely takes over.

Throughout your journey, meet new NPCs and hear their tale - learn how Snafu has affected their "lives" and what you can do to ease their pains. They may not have long, anyhow...

What can I expect when I play Snafu?

Play a game within a game - It is your goal to save Alibaba from Snafu's terror; however, to reach him, you must level up, and make more money.
- You have access to over one hundred purchases,
- Raise your rank,
- Purchase your own home (Which may or may not be haunted...)
- Complete mini side-quests,
- Have access to 3 separate endings,
- And hear the stories the NPC's have to tell. It has not been easy for them, lately.

All of these steps are necessary in order to reach the Castle where Alibaba is held. You must progress through the game as originally intended with the hope to bring the Medieval Grow Your Business Game offline, for good, before Snafu can inflict any more damage. It's harsh, but sometimes when a file becomes so corrupt, you must take extreme measures...

There are many traps throughout the game you will want to avoid. But don't forget, Snafu is always watching and will toy with you until it is ready to truly take your life... It is your ambition to save Alibaba from the terrors of Snafu; however, Snafu will do its best to terrorize you along the way.

And here we are, another game... The Dev notes is usually my favorite part about writing a game's description. It usually has very little to do with the game, but rather, tells the incredible tale of developing the game... Maybe not so incredible?

As you can tell, Snafu is a significantly different approach to the style of games I am used to developing. You will usually see me create a bunch of "Realism", very scary, atmospheric games. However, with Snafu, I've taken a complete 360 and delved into Pixel & Low Polly design. I've also implemented a much larger open world than what I am used to. It's quite different, to say the least.

But, what I've also done which is quite new on my end is finally adding controller support! Super happy to be able to finally sit back, and play this thing with some random controller I may have lying around here. And, since we're talking about new things, Snafu also includes a full-on save-game system. Save the game (also auto save) and play where you've left off. I am usually very hesitant with adding save functionality to short horror games because I always fear that pausing / leaving the game for later will ruin the experience. However, Snafu has a longer play time than my average game, so I figured adding save game functionality for this title was a must. If I feel that the average play time of a game will exceed 80-100 min, I feel like I have no choice - save game it is!

Anyways, as always, I want to thank all my supporters, followers and customers. The fact that many of you all enjoy my creations truly means the world to me. As I've said many times, I will continue to build these games, experiment with new things here and there, and try to pump out the best product I can.

With that being said, I hope you enjoy what Snafu has to offer.

Cheers, everyone, and happy gaming!

Stan. T

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to you all! + Dev update

It's been far too long, yet again. I feel that my last announcement was sometime in May just before writing my CPA final exam. Well, to that end, I am pleased to announce that I have successfully passed my exam and have begun to slowly develop a new horror game. Of course, with working full time, it does become difficult to pump out 1-2 games a year, but, so long as the ideas continue to flow, I should be able to pull that off :) Upcoming horror game: For the last little while, I have been working on a new horror game. After visiting Japan back in September, I have taken a fair bit of inspiration on Japanese architecture and environment, alongside a few playthroughs of Silent hill 2 & f. With that in mind, I have taken to a Japanese setting this time around with a larger emphasis on puzzles and story. The story will be as dark and grim as ever with the ability to play through the game with Easy, normal and hard puzzles to cater to those who would like a simple story experience and those who want to challenge themselves. The game is still quite early in development so i do not have any pictures to share, however, I am AIMING to have this fully complete and release by mid 2026. Thank you all so much for the support and following all of these little games I have built over the year. I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays. Please stay warm and stay well. Stan. T

Sales, Sales, Sales! and Announcement on Development

Hi everyone! It has been far too long. Let me start off by apologizing for the lack of involvement and interaction in the game dev space. I have been stuck in some fairly aggressive schooling for the past 2 years (CPA Designation…) which has been taking up quite a bit of time. As a result, I have not been able to pump out my goal of 2 games per year, nor have I been able to spend much time, passion and energy in the development of any games in general. I am happy to say that my final exam in next week (Wednesday to Friday – yes… a 3 day long final exam ☹) and after that, I am pleased to say that I can jump into the world of development once again!! Go forward projects: I have recently published Night at the Office (Late 2024) which is more of the traditional TurnVex style game. My favorite game and my most advanced game is Snafu. Snafu has been an absolute blast to develop and is extremely unique. The reception the game has received is fantastic. Unfortunately, the spotlight out in the frontlines has been limited to the point where it’s fallen into the shadows quite fast. It’s unfortunate, but reality. My goal for 2025 (and perhaps early 2026) is to develop the next Snafu with a focus on MMO style (without the online component). This approach is a big step up from what I am most comfortable with, but I believe it will be a fun project to work on. Similar to Snafu, it is not the traditional spooky house approach that most horror games are, but rather a unique approach that rarely ever sees the light of day. It may see the same fate as Snafu, falling out of the light quite fast, but it will be a blast to develop! As always, I want to thank all my followers and those who have supported the journey of developing horror games! I look forward to jumping back into work within the next coming weeks to begin pumping out some spooky games to you all. With that being said, to commemorate the end (hopefully…) of schooling, finally… All of my games will be 75% off for the week. ...

Night at the Office - New Horror Game - Out This Friday

Happy December, everyone. Just wanted to let you all know that my next horror game Night at the Office is now officially complete and is ready for launch this Friday the 13th. It's been a real pleasure developing Night at the Office, but there definitely were some challenges along the way. It's been nearly two years since I've released a game, and that is mainly due to both work and school eating up a significant piece of 2023 and 2024, so it was a little difficult getting back into the slow stages of development, especially after releasing Snafu, which I believe to be one of my greatest concoctions. The bar was set quite high, in my opinion... Nonetheless, Night at the Office takes a traditional approach which I have done in the past, however, with a bit more focus on story and puzzle aspects of the game. It is always an honour to be able to build these games and push out what lingers in the imagination into a actual playable product; so to that, as always, I hope you all enjoy what Night at the Office has to offer when it releases this coming Friday. And if you could leave a review, providing me with your thoughts on what you enjoyed and/or disliked about the experience, I would greatly appreciate that! Cheers, everybody and happy gaming. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3305350/Night_at_the_Office/?curator_clanid=42243438

A New Terror - Night at the Office

Holy crap it's been far too long. Almost two whole years since I've release a game, with SNAFU being my last. Unfortunately with school and work taking over a significant portion of my life, development has slowed to a snail's pace. With that being said, I am happy to announce that Night at the Office is nearing the final stages of development and is expected to release on December 13th 2024. Steam page is up and I would love to hear your initial thoughts on the design, story or any questions you may have. As always, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the support you've given me throughout these years. These games are always a pleasure to create and I hope to always push out a better product year over year. Last time, I release Snafu which was a very different concept of a game, but this time, I've returned to the more traditional approach to tell the story of Night at the Office. cheers, everyone. The current state of Snafu

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well! I just wanted to write a quick note to thank everyone who decided to give Snafu a shot (despite its odd and unconventional appearances). I am super happy to see that most of you enjoyed the uniqueness and charm that Snafu provided. I came into this game expecting it to be a complete and utter flop in sales, but fortunately it was just a Mid-flop :). Definitely not performing as well as a normal haunted house / typical horror experience. But in the end, that is perfectly fine - Snafu was an absolute blast to create and its dropped a little bit of "unique" into our over-saturated horror environment. To everyone who played and completed the game, what did you think? What was your favorite part of the game? and what would you change if given the opportunity? In terms of future games, I may have to take a long and hard pause as I should probably start focusing on my normal career so that I don't fall too behind in life, but when given the opportunity to hopefully put a new project or two together, I will do my best to jump straight into the opportunity and publish something banger for you all to enjoy :) We shall see what happens. Cheers, everybody and happy gaming! Stan. T {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43581926/7364168b0849a4555d9db4e437ec15a1143608c4.png
