Embark on an epic journey as Runa battles a dragon and uncovers ancient weapons in Out of the Ashes, an action-packed indie RPG from Tokisan Games.

About this game

Long after Ragnarök, the war that killed the old gods, the land is ruled by an evil dragon. Legend speaks of a phoenix that is supposed to rise, challenge, and defeat the dragon, thus establishing a new era of peace. Yet fulfillment of the prophecy is long overdue, and evil corrupts the land.

The village of Wildeburn has long been under threat from the dragon and his minions. Many heroes left, intending to vanquish him. None have returned.

A young woman named Runa must find a way to defeat him, or she and her village will be lost to the annals of time. But what can she do that countless heroes before her could not? What happened to them? Was the prophecy false? Where is the long-anticipated phoenix? Can anything stop the dragon?

Will you become yet another victim of the evil dragon, or will you emerge victorious from…

    NVidia Hotfix - 0.8.1.1

NVidia recently released a driver that caused our renderer to break on 50-series cards. This update works around the issue.Details:This only affected players with 50-series cards and a recent driver.Players going into the scorpion cave saw an all white screen due to our "Glow" post processing effect. We added an option to disable Glow in the graphics options. Then in the cave and in the old woman's house, players saw a lot of black on screen due to our "Reflection Probe", shown below.Rendering was fine on older driver versions. The last known working version was 591.86, and the earliest known broken one is 596.21. So, the change could have been in the most recent or any of 595.71, 595.79, 595.97.Today's build introduces a fix to the renderer to work around the issue. Now 50-series cards render properly, as before.

    Update to 0.8.1

I just pushed up a new build with a number of updates including:Minimap stops fading is always on screen, unless you press `N`Provided a graphic option to disable Glow for NVidia 5000 cards with the latest driver which show a white screen in the caves. Fixes crashes for game save files provided on our discord.Enabled occlusion for the village wall and terrainand about 50 other smaller fixesNVidia 50x0 cards: There may still be an issue being too dark in the cave or in Amara's house, which use Reflection Probes. We can use help with screenshots to confirm if it's rendering different from other cards. Screenshots can be provided on our discord. I'd also like help identifying which driver version starts having the issue. I have one report that the cave worked fine in an older version, but I don't know which one. You could test disabling various 5000 only features in the driver such as DLSS or Path Tracing. They should have no effect, but then the driver shouldn't react with Glow or Reflection Probes either. Not everything is fixed, but some of the biggest issues are. We'll continue to build and refine for the next milestone. Thanks for your patience!Cory
