About this game
Bailey is a rescue beagle who is thrilled to start a new life in Mighty Oaks Animal Sanctuary, but Mighty Oaks is crumbling. The current owner, Victoria, inherited the large parcel of land and its associated buildings from a distant relative. She is not rich by any means, but she looks to Mighty Oaks as a chance - her chance - to do good in the world for the variety of animals who call the sanctuary their home.
Seeing their new owner struggling with the centre, Bailey decides to do anything they can to help and the more they do, the more the donations start to roll in. Across Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring, Bailey finds various jobs to do, new areas to explore and different animals to help.
But just as things start looking up, a stranger arrives, and trouble follows. Accidents, sabotage, and threats put Victoria and the animals in danger. Who is this stranger and what do they want? Can Bailey stop them before they destroy Mighty Oaks?

Development Update 4
Hello friends! We’ve been busy at Mighty Oaks Animal Sanctuary, and we’re excited to share a little peek at what’s been happening behind the scenes.Seasons Are ComingOne of the core features we’ve been working on is the seasons mechanic. As Bailey explores, the sanctuary will shift through summer meadows, autumn leaves, winter snow and spring blossoms. Each season will bring new quests, new areas to discover and new friends to make.A New, Bigger MapWe’re also moving to a larger map, giving Bailey and friends more room to roam, sniff and dig! This means more hidden treats, puzzles and stories tucked into every corner of the sanctuary. Why It MattersWalkies is all about capturing the joy of being a dog while helping others. Expanding the world and adding seasonal changes makes the sanctuary feel alive and we can’t wait for you to experience it.Thank you for coming along with us on this journey. Your support keeps tails wagging and paws moving forward.Stay cozy,The Walkies TeamRead full article on Community Announcements (Gaslight Mark)AnnouncementsOfficial

Development Update 3
Hello Pupper Fans and welcome to a long overdue update for the development of Walkies! We've been hard at work with many awesome things to show you all... Concept Art The area in the current prototype was built as a small, enclosed demonstration of what we are wanting Walkies to feel like. From experimenting and nailing the art style, to movement, quests and interactive elements. After nailing the narrative journey (as mentioned in our last update), we created a series of concepts for many of the key areas across the game. Here are a few we can share with you! This first one shows the Sanctuary's visitors centre. Here you'll learn how to play, through a tutorial area and it's also where you'll curl up and snooze after a long day running around! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43579576/e67f28b8589f412019f2b5a67a3f7b78672ba37e.png This second one shows "Otter Lake," an area for splashing around and helping out other critters... maybe even some Otters! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43579576/573be92cb09dd68f411081a37f24091811921213.png Draggables We wanted to be able to create some puzzles for players to solve with items they can move and so we created Draggable items. These have a rope attached to them, so your dog can pull them around and into place. Then use the different heights (or other items) to jump from platform to platform and reach higher points! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43579576/2bda380acdb3a9637175275317c7f5aca2b8d7b6.gif New Dog Our new Beagle mesh has been completed, here's a side-by-side comparison with the Beagle we currently have in our prototype. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43579576/d4c22d3f1017895b7ef7d4ed2030ef4fc99980f7.gif New Trees With the Mighty Oaks sanctuary having many different species of tree across its land, we needed to have these types available to us. And so all of our trees have received an overall, including adding a few particular species for special areas. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43579576/9c9cb85d81b82227175ba1cd44d4e2bd45ac6d08.png Cosmetics & Costumes We continue to add an...Read full article on Community Announcements (Gaslight Mark)Patch NotesOfficial
Development Update 2
Happy Pupper Fans! We have been hard at work on updating Walkies with so many updates that we cannot wait to share with you all! The demo level that we have taken to various showcases has received a massive overhaul, with an all new landscape, modified grass foliage and all of the trees and bushes going through an extensive art update. Our Beagle is receiving some visual mesh updates ahead of us sending this new build over to animation and once back, we can fix up many of the parts in the movement that we've had on the back-burner for a while... things like improving the responsiveness of the jumping and the overall IK solver system. The main narrative arc has been completely finished, but we'll keep that one under wraps until closer to release! Until next time, thank you all for your support and we're all super excited to get to share what we've been doing... when it's ready to show!Read full article on Community Announcements (Gaslight Mark)Patch NotesOfficial
Development Update 1
Welcome to the first update for Walkies! It’s been two weeks since we announced the game and we’ve had a crazy fortnight! The Yorkshire Games Festival was held at the National Science & Media Museum in Bradford, UK, where we took a demo build of Walkies. We had hundreds of players try out the demo across the two days of the Family Let’s Play zone, with incredible feedback and a hefty list of things to fix or improve. After much frantic bug fixing and tweaking as much as we could in under a week, we took the next build to the Guildford Games Festival also in the UK… where the game went down a treat! Once again we had so much fantastic feedback and another hefty list of fixes and improvements. The game is progressing nicely, with the last two weeks getting the build running on the machines for the shows. These PCs are lower spec' than we develop on, so some time was spent profiling the game, improving the performance, tweaking config options and generally making it run smoother. We’d like to give a huge Thank You to all the people who stopped by at our booths and played the demo!Read full article on Community Announcements (Gaslight Mark)
