About this game
You play as a young man dealing with the aftermath of your father's death. After the funeral, you receive an invite to return to your childhood home to visit your mother's best friend, Monica and her two daughters, whom you grew up with. It has been several years since you've seen them, so the game centers around your quest to re-build these old relationships, forge new ones and deal with everything life has to throw at you, including the fallout from your deceased father's will.
In addition to the three ladies you're staying with, there'll be plenty of other characters in play (friends, foes, neighbors, stalkers and many more) and a mystery to solve, as you realize that someone is secretly trying to manipulate your decisions.
Where the Heart is" is a choice-driven adult Visual Novel (VN) with thousands of still images in addition to fully animated, multi-POV lewd scenes. There are eleven women to pursue in season 1 (with additions in subsequent seasons), countless decisions to make (ALL of which matter) and realistic characters and dialog, including lots of humor.
Some characters will be easier/harder to "crack" and some relationships will be a slow-burn romance (or corruption) while others will be a quick passionate affair (or rejection). Will you focus on one girl or try to pursue as many as possible? Each girl in the game has their own distinct personality and back-story and they will dynamically react to your previous decisions and also react to your relationships with other women.
Season 1 contains at least 13 hours hours of gameplay, that you can replay numerous times to experience different paths and girls. Where the Heart is: Season 2, and future seasons, will continue the story.

Season 2 Release date
Apologies for this, but I am officially pushing the release date of Season 2 from the end of July to the end of August. I don't take this decision lightly, but I'd rather call it now, rather than wait until mid-July to let people down.I promise you that I have literally been working every available hour on Season 2, but it's just not enough. I'm currently working 12+ hours a day, seven days a week. I was hoping that I could keep the head down and continue at this rate for the next couple of months just to get Season 2 out, but I just can't do it anymore, so I need to reduce down to 6 days a week and maybe just do an 8 hour day on one of those days. I was working similar hours for Episode 25 (original version of WTHI), didn't really take a break after that and jumped into season 2, but it's taking it's toll. I'll still be doing 60+ hour weeks, just not 80+ hour weeks.I had hoped to salvage some of the art from the original game, but after serious consideration, I've decided that it just wouldn't match up, so we are re-doing everything and that's another reason for the push. So season 2 will have aLL new art and animations compared to the original game (Patreon version).Also, I have released a small patch for Season 1 (available now). It adds an export option so that when you reach the end of a Season 1 playthrough, you can now export all of your save data for that playthru. Developer update March 2026
Hi folks,Just to keep everyone in the loop, Season 2 release date is now scheduled for Summer 2026. I know this is later than previously estimated and it's been a LONG time since Season 1. The reason for this delay is because since Season 1's release, my priority was on finishing the original game which is now complete.For those not familiar with the original game... It started almost nine years ago... and all of the artwork, especially in the earlier episodes (there are 25 episodes in total in the original game.) was really poor and was not up to the quality level to match today's art standards, so needed to be reworked / completely re-done (the re-do of the earlier episodes, became Season 1 on Steam). It also didn't have music / SFX, had lower quality GUI and some of the dialog / scenes needed major work too.So for all my supporters on Patreon who started with the original game, I HAD to complete this game, before starting work on Season 2. Now that has been complete, all time/priorities have shifted to completing Season 2 and that's what we are working on.For those who never played the original game and have only played Season 1, I would not recommend playing the original game as the drop in quality is significant, so it's best to wait for Season 2, which will match or exceed the quality you've already seen in Season 1.However, ALL of my time is now being spent on Season 2, so we are now progressing at a good rate and it will be out this Summer (exactly when in the Summer will depend on how much extra content I add).Based on the full body of work, I estimate there will be four seasons in "Where the Heart is" (and possibly a fifth depending on how much extra content we add). However, the wait for Season 2 will be the longest wait by far.... Season 3 and 4 are fully written and have most of the art completed.... so the wait for Season 3 will be very, very short compared to Season 2.
