About this game

Feeling bored while waiting? Why not support our development efforts by playing "The Cold War Era"? -

Arms Race 2 is a turn-based strategy game based on the events of the Cold War between the Americans and the Soviets, spanning the 1950s through the 1990s. In just a few hours of gameplay, players will immerse themselves in five decades of contention, paranoia, secrecy, proxy wars, and the overarching "us vs. them" mentality.

Here's what sets Arms Race 2 apart from other war-based strategy games:

Immerse yourself in a realistic atmosphere that retells the story of the Cold War.
Choose your side and play as either the Americans or the Soviets to rewrite history.
Deploy military and espionage units to support allied governments or transform rebels into revolutionaries in opposing countries.
Establish spy networks to bolster government propaganda campaigns or undermine the opposition's stronghold.
Launch rockets, satellites, and astronauts or cosmonauts into space to astonish the world and prove your superiority.
Devise your own strategies and tactics, forcing your opponent to play by your rules.
Organize pro-government parades or incite riots to plunge countries into chaos.
Experience the technological, nuclear, arms, and space races through historic units, models, and names.
Encounter global consequences from historical international events that impact both superpowers and neutral regions.
Utilize powerful UN decisions to intervene in other countries or protect them from your foe's intervention.
Access a comprehensive database with pictures of influential politicians from both superpowers' governments.
Vote and establish your government with its own specific characteristics, such as politicians' skills and conservative or liberal views.
Experience industrialization, which promotes international cooperation within your alliance and enhances your gaming score.

GAME EXPERIENCE:

Arms Race 2 offers an easy-to-play experience suitable for gamers of all ages and skill levels. In-game tutorials and user-friendly menus provide information on:

    Summer v037 update

Hi comrades, To all demo and beta owners: We are pleased to announce the release of the v037 update. One particular feature in this update requires special attention from those who experienced the issue of clutter on their screens. Some players reported issues with in-game windows overlapping in the previous version, and we diligently investigated to find the root cause. After thorough analysis, we discovered that the problem arose due to varying monitor resolutions, particularly all except 16:9 and 16:10. We are happy to inform you that this issue has been resolved (hopefully). Regardless of your monitor's resolution, windows should no longer stack on top of each other (unless you have a triangular or portrait-sized monitor). Apart from that, we have made some tweaks to the in-game balance and mechanics: AI will now protect its own country without spreading resources if it is engaged in an ongoing war within its borders. AI will attempt a peaceful revolution (coup d'état) if it possesses all the necessary units in its pool, instead of resorting to a civil war to speed up the process. The UN resolution for peacekeeping now costs 50 UN points (reduced from 80). AI will use the UN resolution for peacekeeping as soon as it becomes available during an ongoing war within its own country. We have edited some of the news text to make it shorter and fit better on the TV screen. We hope you will enjoy this update. Have a great summer! Max Sprin
