About this game

It's said that somewhere, in seas far from the eyes of men, lies a mysterious island linked to the land of the dead. Some tales say that this island is the last place souls see before moving on to the afterlife. But when a certain vacationing Elephant stumbles upon a way between worlds, will she unwittingly let something far more sinister slip through?

In Elephantasy: Flipside, you play as a tiny Elephant named Belle, who loves to collect shiny gems and magical items. Luckily for Belle (and you), there are a wide array of items to use around the game's world, some new and some familiar to veterans of the first Elephantasy game. You can shrink and grow at will, lift and hurl the heaviest weights, dash faster than ever before, or make objects float in mid-air. Runes can be deciphered, and uncharted depths delved, all with the greatest of ease! But gems aren't the only things to be collected; the island harbours many secrets and treasures, just waiting for an adventurer to find them! Discover lost souls in need of rescue, rare ores that can improve items, keys to open new paths, and much more! As more lost souls are saved, you'll be able to carry more items, and in turn, explore more of the world at your own pace. But be warned: danger lurks around every corner, and sometimes, things are not quite what they seem...

Features:

  • Over 150 collectibles to find!
  • Over 700 rooms (across 15 different areas) to explore!
  • 8 Items to use, upgrade, and enjoy!
  • Gorgeous isometric pixel art graphics!
  • Challenging platforming and puzzles!
  • Multiple endings!
  • Cheat codes to decrease difficulty/help with exploration!

    Elephantasy: Flipside v1.4.2 Update

Hey all! One more little update with some tweaks/fixes today. Nothing super groundbreaking, but there are a few QoL changes to address. As mentioned last time, patches will be slowing down significantly over the next little while, as this update addresses some of the last bugs/issues I have on my to-do list. IN any case, let's get into the patches this time! ELEPHANTASY: FLIPSIDE v1.4.2 PATCHNOTES Added a ceiling to the room Kilderkin in the Castle Sewers. Previously the lack of a ceiling made it possible to clip through walls, among other things. This should now be fixed. Note that this change will only affect new save files; if you're playing on a file from before this update, this change will not apply to you unless you start a new game. Fixed a bug with warping while small and underwater. Previously, the cosmetic bubble from the bubble item wasn't being drawn in the correct position relative to Belle when being carried. This has been corrected. Fixed a typo in one of Ludos' hints. Tweaked Ludos' hints so he will more frequently tell you useful info, as opposed to flavour text. Tweaked Death's hints so that they will always direct new players to the Ruined Palace if they haven't found any Lost Souls. The other possible hints have been moved to appear after you've found at least one soul.

    Elephantasy: Flipside v1.4.1 Update

Hi all. More bugfixes/tweaks today! Not much to say other than that; if you missed yesterday's update it'd be a good idea to check it out, since it's a fairly significant one! Otherwise, let's get into today's changes. ELEPHANTASY: FLIPSIDE v1.4.1 PATCHNOTES Fixed a bug involving using portals and dashing in the Lighthouse. You will now immediately stop dashing when entering a portal. Tweaked ghost spawning; this was originally going to be in yesterday's update, but I forgot, so I put it in this one instead. Previously, ghosts wouldn't appear in the world until you talked to Death once in the underworld. Because this was annoying to some players, they'll now be out in the world regardless. Tweaked how items are saved. This should help mitigate losing progress in the event of a game crash. Tweaked the tutorial/early game. Now Polnareff the parrot will fly in the direction of the Needle Chamber whenever you enter a room. Hopefully this, in addition to the existing hints from Ludos, will help new players figure out where to go. Fixed a false-positive room border in Trench Chasm. Note that this change will only affect new save files; if you're playing on a file from before this update, this change will not apply to you unless you start a new game. UPDATE: Removed the tweaked tutorial and simply changed the color of the Needle Chamber doorway. I wasn't particularly happy with the changes, and honestly, I liked the start of the game just fine, so we're back to square one. I will not be changing the tutorial further. UPDATE: Changed how respawning after drowning works. UPDATE: Fixed a bug where you could call Polnareff during a certain cutscene, causing issues with saving. UPDATE: Tweaked two rooms in the ruins to avoid a softlock. Note that this change will only affect new save files; if you're playing on a file from before this update, this change will not apply to you unless you start a new game. UPDATE: Fixed the wall jump tutorial NPC after the 1.4 changes to props bo...

    Elephantasy: Flipside v1.4 Update

Hey gang! The game's been out for a whole week! Thank you to everyone who has bought the game already, and I hope you're all enjoying your time playing! I've been doing pretty regular bugfixes over this week, mostly in response to player feedback, but after this update I'll probably be slowing down unless there are major issues that need resolving. As always, however, feel free to report bugs to me via email or in the Steam discussion about the game. Now, onto the changes for 1.4! ELEPHANTASY: FLIPSIDE v1.4 PATCHNOTES Fixed hard-lock where players would get stuck in the ceiling and be unable to escape. You should now automatically die and respawn if stuck in this way. Fixed bug where players could drop held items during cutscenes/when they otherwise shouldn't be allowed to do so. Now players should only be able to drop held items when they are in total control. Changed how lifting items like Keys, Gems, and Ore works. Previously, if you had the ring equipped to the primary item slot (E or B) it would auto-collect the item, whereas if you had it equipped to the secondary item slot (Q or X) it would lift it up instead. Now, if you have the ring equipped and use it, you will lift the item instead of automatically collecting it, regardless of which slot the ring is equipped to. Changed the height boost thrown props would get when bouncing off of walls. It should now be marginally less silly and less prone to bugging out. Tweaked wall jumping in conjunction with the magnifying lens. It should now be impossible (or at least significantly harder) to wall jump off of the same wall repeatedly for infinite height. Again, sorry Sylvie. Fixed ANOTHER bug where a certain NPC would be removed from the game prematurely if certain actions are done. This should no longer happen. Removed extra herbs in the herb garden that would appear after the quest was completed. Now you should always get one herb per plant. Note that this change will only affect new save files; if you're playing ...

    Elephantasy: Flipside v1.3.2 Update

Hey gang! Not a ton to report today, but I have one major bug and a few minor tweaks to address. Also, if you downloaded the game/updates yesterday and found your game crashing, that has been fixed as of last night, though you'll have to download the latest version for those fixes to take effect. Thank you all so much for your patience and goodwill, and I hope you continue to enjoy Flipside! ELEPHANTASY: FLIPSIDE v1.3.2 PATCHNOTES Fixed bug where a certain NPC would disappear forever if you went the wrong way in the final area. They should now reappear where you first found them if you lead them astray. That said, any save files that previously encountered this may be stuck without the NPC in question. If this has happened to you, I've included a detailed description of how to fix this for yourself below. Fixed height for plucking Daikon being inconsistent with their height. Tweaked the room Burning Steel to (hopefully) make the puzzle solution more apparent. This change will only affect new save files. UPDATE: Fixed bug with 100% where it would only give you the achievement if you completed Ending #3 with 100% completion, and gave the wrong text in the final score wrap-up. Now the game gives the achievement whenever you end the game with 100% completion, regardless of the ending, and gives the correct text. UPDATE: Fixed bug where picking up a prop on a room transition would sometimes crash the game. To fix the NPC not respawning if you have already removed them from your game: Locate your game save. This should be in your local appdata folder on your computer. Also locate where STEAM has stored the game's files; the latter should be in a folder labelled "Elephantasy_Flipside_STEAM". Open the "Elephantasy_Flipside_STEAM" folder, and find the folder labelled "rooms_default". Also find the folder labelled "rooms" in your save data. Open "rooms_default" and find a file labelled "roomdata-6,0,-22.ini". Copy that folder to the "rooms" folder in your save data. This ...

    Elephantasy: Flipside v1.3.1 Update

Well, I guess you guys are lucky because you get TWO big-ish updates today! Earlier I released a patch to fix some issues with coyote time, and some of the new code was buggy and caused crashing. That has now been fixed, thankfully, along with a few QoL changes: ELEPHANTASY: FLIPSIDE v1.3.1 PATCHNOTES Fixed bug where the game would crash when it wasn't sure what you were standing on, causing it to throw a fit. Changed how the Whistle works. Normally, when using it, you can hold the jump button while flying to cycle through unlocked warps. Now, in addition to that, simply using the whistle while in a warp room will send you to the next one in the list, looping at the end. Made the key in the mountain trading post come back if you enter the room and have no keys. Changed the starting amount of green herbs in your satchel. Now players starting a new game will start with 3, not just 1, in order to offset accidental/experimental use and allow players to more easily complete the herb sidequest.
