Digs seamlessly blends dungeon exploration, mining, and tower defense into a unique gaming experience. As the commander of all enemy paths, your towers are not just for defense – they're also your key to shaping the battlefield. Procedurally generated mines await your exploration, brimming with valuable resources hidden within various blocks. To conquer the diverse challenges presented by different enemies and environments, you must strategically wield your arsenal.
One of Digs' distinctive features is its innovative in-game economy. Say goodbye to traditional gold and embrace the use of action points. Every action you take generates noise, and when the noise counter hits zero, it's time to either send the wave or heed the wise wizard's counsel and make a hasty retreat, just as wizard once said, "Run, you fools!" Your actions are a precious resource, so manage them wisely, as they become increasingly vital in later waves.
Utilize your basic towers for path creation, and enhance their capabilities with upgrade cards you discover during your journey. These cards hold the power to turn the tide in your favor, creating strategic chokepoints that thwart your foes. Customize your arsenal by building your deck with a wide array of upgrade cards, each offering unique abilities to tackle the diverse threats you'll face.
Digs throws a variety of enemies with distinct behaviors your way, ensuring you'll need to adapt and revise your strategies continually. Just when you think you've found the perfect defense, a new adversary enters the scene, keeping you on your toes. However, fear not, as you'll have an arsenal of tools at your disposal to craft innovative strategies.
With 17 diverse levels (and more to come), Digs introduces new challenges, from unfamiliar enemies to environmental hazards and disasters. Stay vigilant as you tackle these ever-evolving tests.

Before You Play: Understanding Digs
Hi everyone, I’ve noticed some negative comments from Tower Defense (TD) fans, and I believe there might be some misunderstandings about our game, Digs. I’d like to clarify what you can expect from Digs before you dive in. As a seasoned Tower Defense player, my goal was to create something fresh and innovative for the genre. However, it seems some of these innovations have been misunderstood by some players. Digs is a roguelike strategy game with core Tower Defense gameplay featuring “path management.” If you enjoy traditional TD games like Bloons, Kingdom Rush, GemCraft, Cursed Treasure, or Plants vs. Zombies, you'll find familiar mechanics in Digs, but there are significant differences as well. Digs offers unique enemies, towers, and maps, each presenting distinct challenges that allow you to develop your own strategies. Unlike traditional TD games, Digs does not use the same economy model. Additionally, as a roguelike game, every session presents a different map. The maps and paths are not static; you must regularly rearrange them. This is a deliberate design choice, not a flaw. Consequently, you can't replicate your previous layouts or upgrade orders in Digs. Digs is also not a perfectionist game. Expect to lose health frequently and occasionally win with just one health point left. This is by design. If you seek the perfectionist feeling of traditional TD games, Digs might not be for you. It’s more of a survival game. The early waves are “building waves” where enemies are easier, allowing you to prepare your layout (e.g., creating alternative paths) for the tougher waves ahead. The difficulty ramps up in later waves, requiring you to adjust your defense strategies accordingly. While this approach contrasts with traditional TD games, it is balanced and manageable.
