About this game

Mars Horizon 2: The Search for Life is an authentic space management game where you lead a space agency. Your mission? The search for life. Comb the Solar System and trace biosignatures to prove there’s life out there. Explore different planets and moons, plan missions, build bases, launch rockets, design payloads, and make crucial discoveries.

Following on from Mars Horizon where you re-wrote history, now you’re going to be making history. Mars Horizon 2: The Search for Life is a game about exploration, learning, and discovery. Will you be the first to find evidence of life in our Solar System or will your rival agencies have their name etched in the history books instead?

  • You’re in charge of mission control; plan all the aspects of your missions to find anomalies, use satellites to reveal the terrain and rovers to make discoveries

  • Design rockets and customise specialised payloads to ensure you have the right vehicles for your exploratory missions

  • Build and manage your bases on planets across the Solar System. Make your mission as efficient as possible with buildings such as extra-terrestrial laboratories, launch pads, and more!

  • Every launch is an exciting opportunity to propel your agency and exploration further into the Solar System

  • Follow the clues, perform experiments, and discover biosignatures that get you closer to discovery of life – how will you be able to prove the existence of life in our Solar System?

  • Conduct tests, gather samples, explore the surface, expand your bases… until you discover life

  • Adapt your mission as you explore different celestial bodies and make decisions on the best way to identify life as you uncover more evidence

  • Face and overcome hazardous landscapes to ensure your success - will your mission survive the perils of space exploration, and will your payloads hold out?

Now that you know what is required for this mission, will you be the one to make that monumental discovery? Take to the Solar System and embark on the scientific journey for the ages.

    🚀Mission Briefing 👩‍🚀Mars Horizon 2 Developer Update #16

Hi Aurochnauts! It's the August Mission Briefing: Developer Update for Mars Horizon 2: The Search for Life.Want to talk all things Mars Horizon? Join our Discord to talk to other Mars Horizon and space fans. 🚀👨🏻‍🚀 What have the devs been working on recently? 👨🏻‍🚀 In our last update, we shared how we've been focusing on improving controller support and exploring new ways for players to move and follow directions, as well as refining the functionality of our missions. This month, we've been working hard on the game's tutorial. For strategy games like Mars Horizon, tutorials are key for helping onboard players and getting them up to speed. Once players have a good grasp of the basics, systems, and controls, they can start experimenting and refining their strategy - a crucial step for winning in the search for life. Everyone learns differently, though, so to make a truly great tutorial, there is a lot of testing, gathering feedback, watching people play, and observing where different players hit a roadblock or how they understand things. The recent playtests with local Bristol game developers have been super helpful in this. We learn so much from seeing fresh approaches to our game!During August, we've also been really focusing on something we can't talk about just yet, but we are very excited for players to see soon... 🤫🤫 Mars Horizon Happenings 🤫From 20 - 24 August, it was Gamescom in Cologne. Gamescom is the world's largest gaming event and attracts gamers, developers, and publishers from all over the world. Some of the Auroch team were there holding important meetings about our games, including a certain space-themed one.Mars Horizon 1 and 2 are currently part of the "Back to School" Games celebration hosted by Lofi Gaming and Mooncube games. Check out the full celebration here for great deals on some awesome games!Lastly, we've got some exciting things to share soon for Mars Horizon. The team is working very hard behind the scenes on something we know our players wil...
