About this game

Tenebris: Terra Incognita is a challenging turn-based RPG set in a gloomy science fiction setting. Take command of the best fighters of humanity and save the expedition of the Solaris ship, which crashed on an uncharted planet infested with terrible monsters!

CHARACTERS

We are big fans of series like Darkest Dungeon, X-COM and Disciples, and we want to give players a similar experience through deep hero customization and career progression. Having 5 basic classes with easily recognizable roles at the beginning of the playthrough, the player will be able to choose character development branches from 17 advanced classes as they gain experience. Each specialization has separate talent trees, allowing the player to create unique characters within the same class.

The game has a full inventory system. Found or purchased items - weapons, armor, special equipment - can not only improve the basic characteristics of the characters, but also influence their talents or give new abilities.

  • Experiment with the talent branches of the characters.
  • Combine your abilities with equipment items.
  • Create your own unique build, and conquer the world of Tenebris!

MONSTERS

The damaged hull of the ship turned out to be the least of the expedition's problems: the people, not having time to recover from the heavy landing, were immediately attacked by huge bugs. The size, speed and aggressiveness of the enemy would not be such a problem if not for the amazing organization of the swarm. These bugs, through chemical signals, are able not only to coordinate, but also to strengthen and accelerate each other. The more there are, the more dangerous each individual enemy is.

If you manage to defend the ship and gain a foothold in the insect-infested Misty Wasteland, your troops will be able to open other areas where the bug scouts do not dare to go. And if you learn from the swarm, you will understand: there, beyond the borders of the wasteland, you will need new abilities, different combat tactics and, most likely - bigger guns.

STARSHIP "SOLARIS"

The Solaris ship is your base and the only relatively safe place on the planet. Here you can purchase weapons and armor, awaken new recruits from cryo-sleep and send wounded heroes for treatment. The resources found in missions will allow you to improve the ship's bays and expand the capabilities of your squad.

In addition to the expedition commander and the head of the security service, together with whom you will solve the main task of escaping the planet, you will be assisted by the chief doctor, leading engineer and warehouse manager. Each crew member will have unique tasks for you, and solving them will allow you to obtain additional resources and technologies that can increase the chances of survival of the expedition.

Be careful - the ship's supplies are scarce, and you will have to fight for the planet's resources. You have to carefully choose what to spend the little you can get in battles.

Will you be able to conquer the dark planet and save the expedition?

The crew has left all the decisions to you - proceed at your own risk!

14 September: the release of ‘Tenebris: Terra incognita’ version 1.0!

14 September: the release of ‘Tenebris: Terra incognita’ version 1.0!Friends, September is finally here. And that means there are 14 days to go until the release of Tenebris: Terra Incognita. That’s just two weeks! It’s been a long journey, and we ourselves are eagerly awaiting this momentous day.If you haven’t bought the game yet or would like to treat your friends to a copy, we have a gift for you – a 25% discount during the first week of release.Over this time, we’ve processed around a thousand reviews and suggestions for improving Tenebris, and many of your ideas have been taken on board and implemented. We can now say with confidence that the Early Access launch was absolutely essential for such a large-scale tactical game with such a vast array of abilities and mechanics. As a reminder, in version 1.0, players will have access to 23 heroes with 23 talent trees. That’s 414 passive and active abilities, not counting basic abilities, perks and skills that unlock over time. All in all — over 500! And, of course, for a small team like ours, polishing such a vast array of abilities without your help would have been extremely difficult! Thank you for helping us make the game better! Please note that old save files will not be compatible with the new version of the game, 1.0, so if you decide to play now, please bear this in mind. Some players may feel disappointed at having to start the game from scratch, so the decision to delete old save files requires an explanation. It is true that we do have the option to load old save files, but given the changes to core mechanics, abilities, character progression and other adjustments—including balance changes—critical errors will occur and the game will crash. This will lead to crashes, the loss of save files and entire mechanics failing to work correctly. For example, a boss might fail to appear. To avoid all these unpleasant situations, we are forced to delete old save files. But it’s not all bad news! Version 1.0 will introduce t...

Hi, friends! The game’s release is getting closer and closer—September 14 is just around the corner! Now is the perfect time to tell you about the massive amount of work we’ve put in over the past six months. There are less than two months left until release, and this expansion is comparable in size to the previous two combined! Let’s start with the 10 new subclasses we’ve implemented—we’ve been telling you about them in our last five dev logs, where you can read more details. Each of the 10 new heroes will have their own unique mechanic that forms the core of their gameplay. We don’t like it when developers just tweak stats upward to make heroes stronger, so we tried to come up with something more unique. We’re looking forward to your feedback on the heroes in September! We’ve finished the story, and it now consists of 48 missions, not counting side quests! We didn’t expect our first game to turn out this big. If you’ve played version 0.7, feel free to add +80% to your playtime to get an idea of how much content will be available at launch. We’ve added a new biome—full of disgusting creatures and terrifying bosses. Enemies above level 20 will be able to put up a fight and pose a real challenge, as their mechanics allow them to use particularly powerful abilities when their health is low. However, our heroes are now capable of a great deal as well. That’s why we’ve started testing the heroes, monsters, and everything else that will be in the game at launch—to fine-tune the balance as much as possible and find as many bugs as we can. We’ve added several options for speeding up animations, which will make replaying the game more enjoyable for many players—especially those who played during Early Access. You asked—we listened and made it happen! We’ve refined the perk system and, of course, added new ones, including perks for operations where a hero passively participates in missions and brings in more loot. Now you won’t run into silly situations where a flamethrower op...

Hi, friends! Finally, we’ve gotten to the girls with the big guns! Snipers in Tenebris are quite canonical; this class boldly and confidently delivers the highest damage numbers of any class to the player.PellentesClad in light armor and with low health, Pellentes easily makes up for her weaknesses with one ironclad fact: she is the ONLY hero capable of killing enemies with a single shot right from the start of the game! And for that, as we all know, you’d sell your soul to a waffle monster or whoever it is you pray- and make sacrifices to. One of the most popular builds for this hero isn’t focused on negative effects, as an inexperienced player might think, but rather on making her a critical strike specialist, maximizing both critical strike chance and critical strike damage. The “Pull the Trigger” ability deals massive damage and, with a critical hit, will take down most monsters right at the start of the game. Remember that nasty bug, Brachinus? This armored creature has a nasty habit of dousing our entire team with poison and acid. Well, the hero easily takes down this villain using the “Explosive Shot” ability, which ignores armor. Pellentes has high speed and initiative, which means she’s often the first on the team to attack. Thanks to her impressive damage and speed, she pairs perfectly with another damage-dealer—Miles. With good aim and a bit of luck, this dangerous duo can significantly thin out the enemy team on the very first turn, leaving your healer lonely and bored on the sidelines. However, there are some particularly nimble creatures on the planet that are really hard to hit. What to do?! Pellentes has an answer to this challenge as well! The “Laser Targeting” ability significantly reduces the enemy’s evasion and speed, after which the creature will no longer pose any problem for our brave space marines! So brew some coffee, add Pellentes to your team, and watch as pieces fly off those nasty bugs with a satisfying crunch! ViduaVidua are top-tier prof...

Welcome, Space Marines! While game development is in full swing, we’d like to tell you about the Medicus archetype.MedicusThis heroine will be an indispensable part of the team, especially in the early stages. Without her, it’s best not to take any risks and stay on board the ship. After all, who else but her will be sewing back the severed limbs of our soldiers on the front lines? Although, in reality, in our age of advanced technology, she’ll hardly have to sew or patch anything. If you look at the medic’s arm, you’ll see an interesting device on it. It’s a pneumaton! And here’s how it works: microchips and sensors located beneath the casing analyze the wounded person’s condition and, using a special neural network, prepare the necessary combination of antibodies, various medications, nanobots, and other complex compounds and technical gadgets. In short, it’s a brilliant device. Upon receiving a signal from the device that it’s ready, the medic aims their pneumaton at the wounded person and fires a pneumocharge at them. Once they hit the body and then enter the patient’s bloodstream, the nanobots begin their regenerative work—repairing everything that’s broken, healing wounds, restoring organ function—and soon the poor wounded soldier is once again running briskly along the front lines and mowing down enemies with a machine gun. Modern medicine is simply a miracle, isn’t it?However, this device has other functions as well, which the bugs that decide to attack the Medicus will certainly not appreciate. The Pneumaton is an excellent synthesizer of poisons and toxins, allowing you to slowly but almost certainly eliminate a vicious creature. While the enemy is gradually dying, it is recommended to cover the medical team with a squad of heavy infantry. And don’t make rookie mistakes—don’t put medics at the front of your squad; their armor is light, and they don’t have much health to speak of. Attention! We strongly recommend always including at least one medic in your t...

    Devlog #16

Hello, everyone! In this devlog, we’ll be focusing on the truly massive units from the Defencor archetype. This is the only archetype designed to protect their allies and capable of withstanding a lot of damage. DefencorThis is the backbone of Earth’s heavy infantry. It will break through any defense and help you suppress even the most heavily fortified enemy firing positions, while its armor easily absorbs light and medium-intensity attacks. Every Defencor carries a bayonet for close combat and a large-caliber shotgun to suppress enemies at medium range. This class is only effective in the front lines, as it attacks only the row directly in front of it! It deals less damage than dedicated attackers and may slow down level progression slightly, but it fulfills its role as a tank perfectly. The hero has a higher amount of health and armor, as well as numerous crowd control abilities, ranging from knockdowns to taunts. His bayonet attacks can ignore enemy armor, and with this arsenal, the hero can be an extremely valuable team member. The “Protect Your Own” ability can redirect some of an ally’s damage to Defencor, which will save your teammates on more than one occasion, so don’t overlook this unique ability. The “Taunt” effect, which falls under the crowd control category, deserves special mention. With sufficient skill level, it can be stacked on enemies so that it lasts for several rounds. This allows you to protect allies who are in critical condition. Thus, the Defencor character not only boasts high survivability but also possesses a wide range of defensive abilities for his allies. LegionnaireThe Legionnaire is the elite of the heavy infantry. Many heavy infantrymen dream of joining this unit, but only a select few succeed. The thing is, the requirements for candidates are extremely strict. However, successful candidates are rewarded with opportunities worth striving for - Legionnaires are granted access to the latest models of armor and weapons. That’s why new L...
