About this game
Distant Sun is a singleplayer, story-rich, sci-fi game based on character dialogue, puzzle solving, the choices you make and the impact of its results.
Set in the late 2100s, there's not much space in space. Under the backdrop of rising tension between the nations of Earth, Pioneer Research has embarked on the noble task of figuring out how to expand humanity throughout the cosmos but something odd happened there.
What happened in Pioneer Station? Puzzle together and save the lives of those that remain and uncover a conspiracy on a solar scale. Sift through corporate emails, hack administration rights, and talk with research personnel to unravel the mysteries, but do mind that the saying "ignorance is bliss" applies.

The decisions you make advance the story in unique ways. Whether through dialogue with other characters, avoiding confrontation, or outsmarting your adversaries, this will effect the ending of the game.

The dialogue tree guides player conversations and is an essential part of the story. Talk with NPCs and discover more about what happened in Pioneer Station and the conspiracies that lies beneath.
- Companions
You do not have to go in alone. Your crewmates Wonglei and Hailey will be there to back you up with firepower and advice.

Customize your character's appearance with the game's in depth character editor.

Hey all. I've added a few quality of life fixes. Here is the list of thing's I did to make the game more easier to play - Addition of much more comprehensive hints regarding the AI room and the cryogenics chamber. Quick Fix dated 19 January 2024
Hey all! Thanks to KairosObjective, I was made aware of a fatal issue that I didn't encounter while bug testing the game. Unfortunately for me, I'm just a one man dev team so I hope you can understand the limited resources I have in making this game perfect. Asides from the issues he found, I also noticed that I didn't update the depot to be the latest one I uploaded, so it's quite evident I'm fairly inexperienced in using the Steam Partner page. Thank you for your patience and I hope for this to be the last major issue to pop up, but should there be any please do inform me and I'll get to fixing it right away. Changelog: - Change steam depot to latest version. This includes removing the AWM as I couldn't get the scope to work with Nanite's ambient light - Added hint when player start regarding disposing of weapon to pickup new weapon - Made hitbox for interactions with consoles and intercoms bigger - Unlock door to entrance should open by itself over time to prevent getting stuck. - Fixed a female character issue where the first quest didn't update after the Mayday call.Read full article on Community Announcements (Koboi Interactive)AnnouncementsOfficial
Uploaded the closed beta on Steam
I'm pleased to announce that I have successfully uploaded a closed beta version of my game on to Steam. After 3 years of working on Distant Sun I have completed the story on my game, finished the level design, and mapped out the decisions that affect the multiple endings that affect the people you meet and the faith of Pioneer Research Station. I am currently focused now on polishing the game and deciding if I should find voice actors or use an AI text to speech software to voice the characters in my game.
